Depo provera and blood clots

Common Questions and Answers about Depo provera and blood clots

depo-provera

if you were my patient, i would advise you that ilight>depoilight> ilight>proverailight> is not thought to increase the risk of ilight>bloodilight> ilight>clotsilight> dramatically like estrogen does, but it is possible that it could have contributed somehow.
but a few days ago i started bleeding like a normal period but the ilight>bloodilight> comes out in ilight>clotsilight> ilight>andilight> only when i use the restroom. there is none on the pad and i had a positive test what do u think it is?
it's March of '11 and i still havent had a period, i didnt have my period, or really ever blot during the use of the ilight>depoilight> ilight>Proverailight>, ilight>andilight> i've taken tests to see if i'm pregnant but they've came out negative. is this normal? when should i expect my period?
"and it felt very painful; i could feel something sort of fall out of my vagina, or discharge. To my shock and amazement, i found what appeared to be a peice of flesh in my underpants" i just started depo and this happend to me too. it was pink and redish. i know it was not blood. it was fleshy. dose anyone know what it could be. i am afraid.
then i was diagnosed with osteopenia, hypothyroidism, Hashimoto's thyroiditis, ilight>andilight> NOW ilight>depoilight>-induced menopause. Are they all related to ilight>depoilight>-ilight>proverailight> use? i was taking it for 5 years. in what order do i treat this set of disorders? Why is my jaw the primary target? Will the bone loss stop, reverse? My endocrinologist said i should be taking hormone-replacement therapy, but that's what started me on this road to begin with! Help! i really don't want to have menopause twice. Any suggestions?
there's no way to tell for sure, but more and more proof is coming out that autism is NOT linked to vaccines, ilight>andilight> because ilight>depoilight> ilight>proverailight> is an active hormone shot ilight>andilight> not a vaccine, i highly doubt that it is the cause. Are your other children girls by any chance? Very often a family that has an autistic child only has 1 (almost always a boy), and the rest of the children are "normal". they are thinking more and more that it's a genetic mutation.
i was given a shot of ilight>depoilight>-ilight>proverailight> yesterday...ilight>andilight> when i asked about side affects all i was told was nausea, headache, and dizziness. After reading quite a few articles online, it seems there are a lot more serious side affects than i was led to believe. i've been having lots of chest pain and shortness of breath, but the doctor doesn't seem to think it's related to the shot.
i am 19 years old, and just recently become sexually active with my boyfriend, we used protects ilight>andilight> have both been tested, so all is good there. Okay... a week ago i got my ilight>depoilight> ilight>Proverailight> shot... and since then i have been hungry all of the time and have had cravings for anything sweet, saly, greasy, you name it, i've craved it... i also have been feelings nausiated at times... i am having terrible aches in my legs and arms...
i have had three EKGs, an echo stress test, several d dimers (one being positive), three chest x-rays, ilight>andilight> 24 hr halter monitor. i discontinued my ilight>depoilight> ilight>proverailight> shot hoping this was just negative side effects from the birth control two months ago. May i mention i've had constant bleeding/spotting for four months. Needless to say the symptoms continue and i am just concerned that they never searched anywhere else in my body for clots or research as to what caused my elevated d dimer. HELP PLEASE.
But the big scare i have is when i take out my tampon, which i change about every hour to 2 hours, there are ilight>bloodilight> ilight>clotsilight> on it. then when i am sitting on the toilet, more ilight>bloodilight> ilight>clotsilight> come out, ilight>andilight> also when i wipe with toilet paper. they aren't HUGE like everyone else is saying, but they are bigger than a quarter, and it's never happened before & i started my period for the first time when i was 14. What should i do? Or is this all normal?
Hi there, i don't usually get blood clots in my period at all, ilight>andilight> as i was surprised to get my period as iv been on ilight>depoilight>- ilight>proverailight> i decided maybe i was unlucky enough to get it even though you usually don't (and i didn't the first time on this contraception). And it was such a heavy painful period so i sat down on the toilet for a while and passed a quite large blood clot, it was about 2cm wide and about 5cm long in a sort of c looking shape. i'm feeling a little worried, what could this mean?
You girls have to discontinue ilight>depoilight> ilight>Proverailight> at once ilight>andilight> i highly recommend never putting any hormones into your bodies ever again. i have experienced a living nightmare from depo Prover for the past three years. After i got the depo shot i went home and researched on the web about the drug. i cried for three hours in fear that that could happen to me. What happened was worse. Five days after the shot a menstrual cycle started that would not cease. it wasn't a normal cycle.

i will never go on ilight>depoilight> ilight>Proverailight> again. My daughter was on ilight>depoilight> ilight>Proverailight> at college, ilight>andilight> discontinued the shot ilight>andilight> has lost that weight and is thin again. Fitday.com's free site has helped me keep up with my carb intake, and also tells me how many calories, how much fat etc. i use. it does this automatically when i put my food in for the day. Also Magic Bus has a forum where you can learn how to lose weight quick and even post on a challenge to keep you honest and responsible.
i am 20 years old and had a pacemaker implanted almost eight months ago to correct SVT ilight>andilight> A-Fib after two unsuccessful cardiac ablations. i began taking ilight>depoilight> ilight>Proverailight> about six months ago. About three weeks ago, i began experiencing sharp chest pain on almost a daily basis; however, it generally subsides after 20-30 minutes. During this time, i can also feel my heart racing. i have heard before that depo can mess with your heart and lungs. is this a possibility?
they said that pregnacy can cause clots because of the hormone changes. the only thing i can link my ilight>bloodilight> ilight>clotsilight> to is the ilight>depoilight> ilight>proverailight> birth control i was on when i threw the clots. Every doctor that i have seen says depo won't cause clots but what else could it be.
i had been on ilight>depoilight> ilight>proverailight> for 4 years without any problems. No ilight>bloodilight> ilight>clotsilight>. Only minor bone density loss. i discontinued use for about a year and now i have returned to depo. i am very concerned about blood clots. if i didn't have problems while i was on the shot before and on the pill for so long i should be ok correct? i am not a lazy person. i am a college student and i walk at least a mile just going to classes everyday.
lol... 'slug-clot'... that's gonna be the new word of the day. i avoided the ilight>depoilight>-Lupron (did the ilight>proverailight> shot instead) because of the side effects, but i do seem to remember from the handouts and video that since it puts you in menopause that parts of dead tissue from the uterine lining can be sloughed off. Maybe it's related to that? i'd ask anyway, and i think your gyn would get a kick out of it being referred to as a "slug-clot" (lol...
i have slightly tender boobs ilight>andilight> increased appeitite, could this be my period or ilight>depoilight> messing with my head? what are your stories on depo, i've heard alot of horror stories about it, sorry for the long essay.
i also became pregnant while on the ilight>depoilight> shot. i had been on it for a little over 2 years. i wound up miscarrying between 5-6 weeks. i quit the shot at that point and we started actively TTC about 6 months post m/c. it took 20 cycles (mostly irregular), at least 2 m/c (doctor thinks many more i was unaware of), and 2 rounds of clomid to successfully get and stay pregnant.
i only had two shots of ilight>depoilight> ilight>andilight> after the second one it caused me to have AF for 2 days then off a day and soo one for almost 3 months. My Doctor put me on BCP when i was due for my 3rd shot to help regulate AF because it wasnt getting better. Go to your Dr and tell them whats going on.
Hi i pass ilight>bloodilight> ilight>clotsilight> also.About a year ago i had a pelvic ultrasound ilight>andilight> they found ilight>bloodilight> ilight>clotsilight> in my uterus and this was caused by being on the depo provera shot for 2 years.i have been passing them for a bout a yaer now.Maybe you should set up an appt with your gy.im sure they will be able to tell you why your passing blood clots as they did me.Hope everthings alright for you.
i officially am not on the ilight>depoilight> ilight>proverailight> shot anymore ilight>andilight> now i'm having problems. i was on the depo for 3 1/2 years and didn't have a period for the last 2 1/2 years of it. i've been off the shot for about 3 1/2 months. i started my period three weeks ago and i start then stop, start then stop. it isn't very heavy either. i'm now getting sharp pains in my pelvic area. Not like cramps. SHARP pains. Mostly just on the right side of my pelvic area.
My question is why is my bleeding not stopping completely on ilight>proverailight> although its been 2 weeks i started taking them ilight>andilight> the bleeding is moderate during the dayt ilight>andilight> light during the night, i am soaking 2 to 3 pads per day .. Can i stop taking provera and start combination OC pills to stop the bleeding ? will it help me..i am having lot of tiredness and fatigue due to bleeding so long ..please advise and help me..thanks much!
i about 2 wks. late ilight>andilight> i have had extremely heavy bleeding ilight>andilight> passing ilight>clotsilight> ilight>andilight> tissue. i have not had a period since i've been taking depo. i have slight cramps. i've only had this kind of thing happen once before when i had a miscarriage. i'm sure i gave the shot properly in my upper arm muscle. what would cause this sudden change? could it be build up from over the years? i called my dr. and requested a refill, but he is a new dr.
Jaundice blood clots Severe allergic reaction infertility Severe depression Heavy or prolonged vaginal bleeding Additionally, there is conflicting evidence to suggest that use of ilight>depoilight>-ilight>proverailight> may increase your risk of breast ilight>andilight> cervical cancer, although no definite conclusions have yet been drawn.
has taken me off the ilight>depoilight> Shots ilight>andilight> i was put on Birth Control Pills. the ilight>bloodilight> was very dark red ilight>andilight> ilight>bloodilight> ilight>clotsilight>. i was given an altrsound was told nothing was wrong. is this normal with the depo Provera?
He had told me while being on the depo there is a chance of still getting pregnant and most young women do. they said the reason it was not showing up in the ilight>bloodilight> work ilight>andilight> the urine was due to the ilight>depoilight> shot. it brings down your HGC hormones in your body and that's way a huge number of people don't know they are pregnant. Unfortunitly, the baby ends up dying before people even know they are pregnant. i was told this by a pennsylvania state specialist in the department of OBGYN.
