Are your other children girls by any chance? Very often a family that has an autistic child only has 1 (almost always a boy), and the rest of the children are "normal". Is depo-provera linked with infertility! I am a 24 and at the age of 20, I had 2 injections of depo-provera. Ever since, my period could me counted as almost none except when I am extreamely stress wich happen only 2 times. Other than that, nothing. Hi, I am not sure of what type of antibiotic might affect other contraceptives like the pill, but I am pretty sure that she will be fine on the shot. I myself had the depo-provera shot about 10 years ago. I only had one shot and I didn't have a period until a whole year later. It actually took me over another year after my period returned before, I finally became pregnant. The depo-provera shot is extremely effective.

not sure about the breast feeding part but a lot of women on this site might agree with me to stay clear of depo-provera. I have been using it for a few years now, and have no plans of stopping using it anytime soon, as I am in college and will be for quite some time to come. But what I don't know is considering the fact that since being on Depo, I have had pretty much no menstrual cycle for a very long time.

Quick question... which Depo are you on? There are two kinds, that I'm aware of: Depo Provera or Depo Lupron. I had tried the Provera when I was about 16 for about a year. I had to stop because I could not handle the side effects any longer. I did spot for about 3 months. It usually takes a few months for your system to get used to it. The Lupron stops your period completely and basically puts your body into menopause, which is the one I am currently on.

I have been off Depo-Provera for 11 months now and still haven't conceived. Every month i have the same symptoms you are describing and every month i have the same negative result. I was also told afetr i came off the injection it could take me anything from a year to 2 years to conceive.

They can also give you depo-provera shots that will put you into menopause but it has a lot of side effects. I had a large fibroid tumor that my doc wanted to shrink in order to remove it with laparoscopy versus a major surgery. This was about 20 years ago. They gave me depo-provera shots for three months that shrunk the tumor but also put me in menopause temporarily.
