329165 tn?1515471990 I am going for Surgery in the next few weeks - Nissen Fundoplication and my Surgeon mentioned that I should get Prophalaxis Antibiotics before and after the operation, but then I told him as far as I know it is not necessary as my valve is fixed? Now I am a bit unsure... should I still take prophalaxis before surgeries, dental work, etc.? what is the latest info on that?
Avatar f tn How soon after a cataract operation (on the 4th) can I have dental treatment for replacing a crown or maybe having this back tooth out. Some aching experienced but dentist said it did not look urgent. The discomfort is on the tooth next to the wisdom on the inside and on this side there seems to be a gap and sharp edge to the cap.
874521 tn?1424116797 I posted last week to get some information abt the forls my boy has. I have since found out the WCVM no longer has a dental surgeon, she is on mat leave. the former professor there was dr. James Anthony who was at one time in Guelph I believe. This dr is no longer in Saskatoon but does come to a now PRIVATE Clinic and do dentistry 3 days a month, so we are waiting for an appointment that may take a few weeks. Do you know of this Dr.?

1819855 tn?1317137399 Hello, First of all thank you ALL for positing here and for making your troubles regarding the titanium side effects heard. It takes time and courage for one to share these info and be kind enough to warn other people about the possible side effects of a titanium dental implant. My question is: Do you know if a zirconium implant will be a better choice versus a Titanium implant or the damage of an implant is bad....period...no matter what material is it made of?
635240 tn?1233165954 I had my chiari surgery, in Feb, 13 1999 my surgeon never had me come back after my stitches were taken out, now I have been having pressure in my head again and just had a MRI done and it shows that I have membrain coming into where my operation removed my scull and took out verteras....what should I expect with this now???.....
Avatar m tn The vet says that even if he makes it through surgery then the outcome will depend on exactly what is going on. She mentioned that it may be dental disease or stomatitas. If the latter then the operation may still not fix the problem, and we will be back to some sort of management. Are there any other options that we could consider? We would be so deeply grateful for any advice, however minor.
Avatar f tn 00 a.m. and searched the computer for info. Oh and some fluid and blood came out with the bigger nodule which is making me very scared. Does this sound bad? Had right lobe out in 1998, with a benign tumor. Do you think he is going to suggest taking the lobe out because of the size, even if turns out to be benign? I wish I would of had the whole thing out the first time!! Any info will be very much appreciated.
Avatar n tn I would like to know why laughing gas (nitrous oxide) is not a good option for my daughter to undertake while receiving dental care as she needs to be sedated. I am told that she needs to be adminstered the normal anesthesia as if she were receiving a surgery in a hospital. I understand that a cardiologist as well as the anesthesiologist should be present during the care (dental), but why specifically is laughing gas more hard on her system?
1558393 tn?1299070031 I will be having a Laminaplasty Operation by Dr. Heffez in Nov. Has anyone had this done? If so can you tell me what to expect...Staples, time in hospital, pain amount, time in surgery....ect... thanks for any info you can give.
Avatar n tn How long have you been using? And why are you weening? We need a bit more info in order to help. Now, having said that, I agree with the above two...First, most of us can't ween unless we have someone who we trust assisting us. You need to get a taper plan from your doctor, then have the trusted person give you the meds per the plan, hiding the rest so you have absolutely no access. Tapering prolongs the mental side of detox, and that's the part that leads most to relapse.
Avatar m tn Thanks for the info. I myself know a few persons who have undergone dental implants treatment at overseas clinics. I haven't picked a clinic yet, but have read that dental tourism is becoming very popular.
1102211 tn?1430686801 Two months later I got a breast abscess, then hormones all over the place followed by having to have a hysteroscopy, removal of the coil and a full abdominal ablation. A week after my operation I found a large breast lump which has now been diagnosed as GM. Is there a hormonal link does anyone know?? Rhuematology has ruled out any findings?
Avatar f tn I am about to start my therapy for Hep C and was told if I had dental work to do I should do it now. If I start any dental work it would set back my start time for therapy. Anyone had dental problems or dental work prior to therapy? I'm so nervous right now, not sure how it's going to effect me. I have a stress test scheduled prior to therapy also. Any info?
600409 tn?1219747198 If you see will with the monofocal IOL and glasses over it why take a risk of losing your eye completely with another intraocular operation. Besides you have to wear glasses anyway while doing dental work for eye protection.
Avatar f tn I fully understand that you cannot make an exact diagnosis without viewing it, but it will give me some info for further discussion when my dentist is back into the office.
Avatar f tn I am 24, last year I lost my left ovary to a 17cm ovarian teratoma (benign), and had a 4cm one removed on the right. Yesterday I had an operation to remove 3 new teratomas from the right (12cm in total). I have been left with only 10% of that one ovary. I'd done two egg collections before this (got 22 eggs but I know the poor success rate for frozen eggs).
1608992 tn?1318720055 Feed her a high quality can food, with her loss of teeth it will be difficult to chew anything else. Avatar m tn I am 50 yrs old and was prescribed vicodin for alot of dental and hip pain about ten yrs ago. I wanted off the vicodin and lost my insurance. My husband was prescribed methadose for his back pain and has been on it for years. It was cheaper and easier for me to take one of his because of the withdraw from vicodin. Well now I am trying hard to get off that in the mornings. I take one ten ml in the morning and 1 to a half before bed to help me sleep.
