insurance

Avatar f tn I called my insurance company to check on coverage, they do cover the consultation but there was a long list of treatments they won't cover if they are found to be dental in nature. Does anyone know how a dr might find the TMJ issues medical in nature?
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar n tn i would have her evaluated at dental school.
Avatar f tn I think I found an answer to my question on the COBRA web site: "Pre-existing conditionsSome health insurance companies cut their costs by invoking something called a "pre-existing condition" clause. The notion of a pre-existing condition makes sense when you're talking about car insurance: your windshield was cracked before you bought your coverage, so you can't expect the insurance company to replace it once your policy is in force.
Avatar f tn I have Veterinary Pet Insurance, and I've been pleased with the coverage. There are different levels of coverage. It covered some of my kitty's dental and her insulin and syringes and tests. It's a nationwide program if you want to check it out! My kitty is 11 years old, so it does go up with her age. Her diabetes was diagnosed after I had been enrolled for over a year, so I was covered, but no coverage for pre-existing conditions.
1709021 tn?1308184343 Hi lady, that would be awesome if the Obamacare did cover dental too. I'm on disability and I don't have dental coverage either and it's sad because bacteria in the gums can affect your heart health. I know the false teeth are expensive, my mother had a tooth knocked out during surgery last August, it was hanging there literally, it had to be pulled. It was from a tube they put down her throat, she was furious! I would have been too.
Avatar m tn Orthodontic and other dental intervention may be a risking factor associated with occurrence of TMD symptoms. Occlusal appliance therapy is highly effective for TMD. Seeing a tmj specialist or Orofacial pain specialist is advised.
Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar n tn I have posted before on this board, and with good news can report that I'm done with all dental work minus crowns...which I've been advised to not get until after we do orthodontic treatment. My question is...I've made a couple of consultations here, one of which is for an option called "Fast Braces", I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them.
Avatar f tn You will have to tell the insurance you are married bc you have to change your name with them.
Avatar f tn I am looking for suggestions as to how to make my case with the insurance carrier that this is not a one time event but a chronic condition that if not treated would result in a loss of vision. Just as MD would result in a similar outcome without treatment. I would appreciate input as I put together my appeal. Thanks in advance for your consideration of my question.
714288 tn?1243254191 If you have had major medical coverage for 1 full year with no break and can provide certification of creditable coverage no group policy can deny you coverage for any pre-existing illness. If you have not had coverage for one year, depending on the group plan's eligibility and coverage limitations they would most likely tack on a 6-month Pre-exiting condition limitation.
1191960 tn?1280074080 m on my third try of IUI, and I noticed that some of you are covered through your insurance. I was just wondering what insurance helps with the cost of treatments, as SAG does not. Thanks for any input!
Avatar f tn i applied for mediciad and was approved quickly although i didnt know(all my stuff got sent to we dont know where) but yeah just apply and you should get approved quickly.
Avatar f tn With pregnancy medicaid you should also be able to go to the dentist and it be covered. I know my sister did, just sometimes not easy to find a place that accepts medicaid.
Avatar n tn I have Diabetes and severe case of gingivites is there more assistance out there available other then just the measly $1000 coverage from the dental plan. Arn't they related ?
Avatar n tn the TMJ is the temporal mandibular joint and pain there can be caused by multiple things. The dental, or orthodontic work doesn't have to have anything to do with tooth pain or dental problems. It's just that often by adjusting your bite (if off) or by keeping your teeth from touching or "grinding" while sleeping with a guard, you can keep that joint and the muscles around it from becoming tight, tense, or even becoming damaged.
Avatar n tn I had medical at a point and I know they have dentical for dental and medical should cover optometrists because mine did. I haven't had it in over 4 years so it may be different but call and ask.
Avatar f tn In order for a pre-existing clause not to apply with group coverage you have to have been insured for one year with no break in coverage. A letter of credible coverage from the previous insurer would allow immediate coverage for any illness. Since Katheryn is not currently covered by any insurance, and if she were to become eligible for group insurance through an employer she would need to find a different doctor with no prior knowledge of her illness.
Avatar f tn My husband and I have been trying to get pregnant for 6 years. We finally got pregnant (our miracle baby) I'm about 6 weeks and NO insurance. Deadline for coverage was Feb 15th. Any recommendations for insurance or ideas Thank you.
1530342 tn?1405016490 I get my health coverage at work and I'd like to keep my current plan. Will I be able to do that? How will my plan be affected by the health law? A: If you get insurance through your job, it is likely to stay that way. But, just as before the law was passed, your employer is not obligated to keep the current plan and may change premiums, deductibles, co-pays and network coverage. You may have seen some law-related changes already.
Avatar n tn t go in for my initial cleaning/consultation until next week and was just wondering what the issue was with dental care and phentermine usage. Any insight will be greatly appreciated as countless internet searches have left me as uninformed as when I began. Thank you in advance.
