Avatar f tn I called my insurance company to check on coverage, they do cover the consultation but there was a long list of treatments they won't cover if they are found to be dental in nature. Does anyone know how a dr might find the TMJ issues medical in nature?
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
1709021 tn?1308184343 Hi lady, that would be awesome if the Obamacare did cover dental too. I'm on disability and I don't have dental coverage either and it's sad because bacteria in the gums can affect your heart health. I know the false teeth are expensive, my mother had a tooth knocked out during surgery last August, it was hanging there literally, it had to be pulled. It was from a tube they put down her throat, she was furious! I would have been too.
Avatar f tn I think I found an answer to my question on the COBRA web site: "Pre-existing conditionsSome health insurance companies cut their costs by invoking something called a "pre-existing condition" clause. The notion of a pre-existing condition makes sense when you're talking about car insurance: your windshield was cracked before you bought your coverage, so you can't expect the insurance company to replace it once your policy is in force.
Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar f tn I have Veterinary Pet Insurance, and I've been pleased with the coverage. There are different levels of coverage. It covered some of my kitty's dental and her insulin and syringes and tests. It's a nationwide program if you want to check it out! My kitty is 11 years old, so it does go up with her age. Her diabetes was diagnosed after I had been enrolled for over a year, so I was covered, but no coverage for pre-existing conditions.
Avatar m tn I was wondering if orthodontic corrections for misaligned teeth can cause temporomandibular joint dysfunction (T.M.D.). I ask because last year while I was on assignment in Thailand my wife decided to start such an orthodontic program due to the low cost in Thailand… yes I know big mistake and it was not decision! In any case she had extractions, received braces and temporary anchoring devices (TADs).
229857 tn?1319029907 Do any of you have insurance for your pets? If so is it worth it and what is a good company? Thanks.!
Avatar n tn I have posted before on this board, and with good news can report that I'm done with all dental work minus crowns...which I've been advised to not get until after we do orthodontic treatment. My question is...I've made a couple of consultations here, one of which is for an option called "Fast Braces", I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them.
714288 tn?1243254191 If you have had major medical coverage for 1 full year with no break and can provide certification of creditable coverage no group policy can deny you coverage for any pre-existing illness. If you have not had coverage for one year, depending on the group plan's eligibility and coverage limitations they would most likely tack on a 6-month Pre-exiting condition limitation.
Avatar f tn I have health insurance because of my mom but it didn't cover all of my expenses so I also have pregnancy medicaid and they pay after the insurance after my baby comes I'll go back to my regular health insurance and my baby will me on medicaid

Avatar f tn I'm 23, married and my parents insurance did cover the costs of my OB bills all I had to pay was the deductible and whatever out of pocket costs that they can make you pay for I think I paid around 3000 all together and the rest was covered but it may be different with different insurances
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
Avatar n tn I have Diabetes and severe case of gingivites is there more assistance out there available other then just the measly $1000 coverage from the dental plan. Arn't they related ?

Avatar n tn Excessive orthodontic movement, especially if the tteth are moved quickly, can cause resorption of the roots.
Avatar n tn the TMJ is the temporal mandibular joint and pain there can be caused by multiple things. The dental, or orthodontic work doesn't have to have anything to do with tooth pain or dental problems. It's just that often by adjusting your bite (if off) or by keeping your teeth from touching or "grinding" while sleeping with a guard, you can keep that joint and the muscles around it from becoming tight, tense, or even becoming damaged.
Avatar n tn I had medical at a point and I know they have dentical for dental and medical should cover optometrists because mine did. I haven't had it in over 4 years so it may be different but call and ask.

Avatar f tn Hep C is pre-existing condition for any individual policy, however on group insurance it is not. So if you get insurance through a comapny even after being diagnosed you should be okay.
