Common Questions and Answers about Dental insurance lumineers

Avatar n tn make sure you see a dentist who has done lots of laminates.......you should call his/her patients and see how they look and if they are happy. you should see photos. it's a big decision. you want it done right the first time. a good cosmetic dentist will choose the material/technique that's best for you. lumineers are laminates--- lumineers is a brand name, that's all.
477608 tn?1238527958 According to what she told me, lumineers are a bit thicker and I would need to do 8-10 teeth. Veneers on the other hand, have to remove so much more of your tooth. But I would only need the 4-6 that I want done. Cost per tooth is about $50 different (veneers being the more expensive...but I would need fewer). Cost is not really the issue, but I have heard lumineers are more likely to break. Anyone? What would YOU do???
Avatar n tn I have recently read and seen "Lumineers" these procelain micro thin coverings. It seems like a great way to improve my teeth. My concern is that I wear a nite guard for grinding. Lumineers are supposedly not just cosmetic, but will add strength and stability to my teeth. They are supposed to last 15-20 years. The grinding has caused many "craze lines" in my bottom 4 front teeth and a slight chipped top tooth. What are your thoughts in my case. thank you.
9190592 tn?1402252466 t think Lumineers or any type of veneer is the way to go. Your front teeth are proclined (leaning forward) and there would be significant tooth reduction to push them back to line them up with the bottom. If you were just to close the gaps, the teeth would need to be widen and look "fatter" with veneers or Lumineers.
Avatar f tn Nothing remarkable showed up and no medication has shown any long-term benefits. Did have lumineers put on about 1 and 1/2 years ago. Surely it's not related. Did get some relief from anti-inflammatories, but as soon as I stop, pressure is back. Please help.
Avatar n tn Thanks for that answer. how about cosmetic bonding? Will it work? What do you think?
Avatar f tn I suggest the following home remedies and basic dental care . If this does not work or the condition is chronic then you definitely need to consult a dentist. Or try a cosmetic dental treatment. Reduce coffee and red wine intake and reduce smoking. This is common sense and also good for your body. Try chewing raw vegetables , once a day . Raw vegetables are a healthy snack and they will also help in cleaning your teeth.
Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
1027870 tn?1252056250 yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar m tn Hello, I can't remember the last time I was at the dentist but at the time the dentist said I had no cavities. Now I'm 21 and I have a cavity in on of my top molars. I don't know what to do, I don't have dental insurance and I really don't have the money to get it fixed. I don't want to wait any longer and have it get any worse but I don't have the extra arm and a leg the dentists charge.
Avatar f tn Hey Sarah I too am a college student looking for health insurance, I was curios to know what you chose and what worked for you. Also did you add dental to your health insurance, I cant find many quotes with both to know how much together they would cost.
Avatar m tn I am so far a healthy 43 year old/m in pa. I am trying to decide which health insurance plan will be good for my situation and I am looking for some opinions here. This Month my group plan ends and I can take cobra but there is no financial benefit to taking my same PPO plan which gives me to price break for being unemployed. So I am trying to look at this at a meaningful way. Since my PPO was $475/m plue $29 dental I just cant be paying that on my own now.
Avatar n tn I am just getting my own dental insurance next month, so I believe I would have to wait a year to see a periodontist with this particular insurance. If you have any suggestions on how to keep my gums as healthy as possible, so that I can avoid more problems, please let me know. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
Avatar n tn She really need some help. Does anyone know of a place that will take someone without dental insurance in Lake County, IL. She fears the infection may have entered her sinus cavity as last time she went in they told her she had a sinus infection. please help!!
946207 tn?1246134385 My mouth is full of dental problems- I have 8 abcessed teeth. One bad infection is in one of my front teeth that hurts all the way up under my sinus cavity. I HAVE TO be sedated at the dentist (been this way since I was young- had abusive dentist when I was little girl who caused me alot of pain). NO low-income dental clinics will sedate me and I can't afford a regular dentist/oral surgeon/sedation. I am 43 yo tomorrow and am going to die from these infections in my mouth.
Avatar f tn My teeth and gums are on fire! There's no swelling, just throbing aches. I don't have dental insurance. Besides using Orajel, what are natural ways to relieve tooth and gum pains that won't hurt my baby?
Avatar m tn I am planning on getting them removed soon due to recurrent infections and I was wondering if it is more cost effective to get a dental insurance plan or pay out of pocket. What are the typical cost to remove something like this? Will there be surgery required? How much will a good insurance plan cover or is it more cost effective to just pay out of pocket? Thank you.
Avatar n tn s father insurance he has really good insurance...
1532707 tn?1312155924 My work was having open enrollment for insurance and i was eligible. I wanted to sign up for their dental plan since i need it and can afford it again. I assumed it was being taken care of since i filled out the form and turned it in the same day. I have been patiently awaiting the cards in the mail but nothing!.... I ask my boss today what happened and she says she turned the paper work in1 day late and missed the deadline. Now i have to wait a whole 'nother year to get insurance?
