insurance

Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
Avatar n tn t have dental insurance... you can get dental stuff done at the hospital if it is really serious. Maybe ask your doctor about this (even if you do live in American, it might be the same)? Personally I'd prefer paying out of pocket than getting it done at the hospital... but, if that's what is causing your headaches and there is no other way to get it done because of money reasons, you might want to consider having your doctor refer you to the hospital to get your tooth dealt with! But...
Avatar n tn , I have no dental insurance yet I have to be put to sleep for anything cause I have a history of punching my doctors. Eh an can I use a nail file to file down my moulars an wisdom teeth? I think I grind my teeth at night cause they are almost razor sharp I bit my cheeks/tounge almost everytime I eat something...
1027870 tn?1252056250 yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.

485259 tn?1519047026 The bad part of all of this now is While I have a treatment date for 5 hours of dental work ( getting most of it done in one session) I no longer have dental insurance and even at a Dental school/clinic the total cost is just about 15,000.00. SO I began with great fear of getting more dental work done as you were, I then had some hope the treatment could happen in a TN friendly enviorment, but now I am once again feeling hopless because of the Cost.
Avatar f tn I had dental implants in 10/08. I have had constant pain, mouth sores, headaches, burning pain in mouth, bad taste in mouth, bacteria in mouth. Dentists don't want to treat me until I "deal with the above issues." I get referred to oral surgeon, that was after ENT never saw anything like it. Insurance sends multiple biopsies to lab. Inconclusive - except when oral surgeon sends to a "special lab" that insurance doesn't pay for. $250.
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar f tn Do any of you have pet insurance. I've looked at a couple but they seem like a rip off. A lot of stuff is excluded from coverage and after the deductible and what they don't cover, it seems like what little they do pay is not as much as the premiums.
Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar m tn Hello, I can't remember the last time I was at the dentist but at the time the dentist said I had no cavities. Now I'm 21 and I have a cavity in on of my top molars. I don't know what to do, I don't have dental insurance and I really don't have the money to get it fixed. I don't want to wait any longer and have it get any worse but I don't have the extra arm and a leg the dentists charge.
Avatar f tn Im in texas and here they have to approve ur Medicaid within 15 days so id definitely reapply hun
Avatar f tn Hey Sarah I too am a college student looking for health insurance, I was curios to know what you chose and what worked for you. Also did you add dental to your health insurance, I cant find many quotes with both to know how much together they would cost.
Avatar m tn I am so far a healthy 43 year old/m in pa. I am trying to decide which health insurance plan will be good for my situation and I am looking for some opinions here. This Month my group plan ends and I can take cobra but there is no financial benefit to taking my same PPO plan which gives me to price break for being unemployed. So I am trying to look at this at a meaningful way. Since my PPO was $475/m plue $29 dental I just cant be paying that on my own now.
Avatar f tn If you have no income or insurance they will usually do the work for free. I know several people who have went to dental schools and are very happy with the care.
Avatar m tn Review of your past medical history is critical in today,s dental practice, it can avoid jeopardizing your general health via dental treatment. X-ray helps dentist identify hard tissue lesion which can not be seen by eyes.your dentist,s practice certainly meets current standard of care.
Avatar n tn I am just getting my own dental insurance next month, so I believe I would have to wait a year to see a periodontist with this particular insurance. If you have any suggestions on how to keep my gums as healthy as possible, so that I can avoid more problems, please let me know. Thanks so much.
Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
Avatar n tn She really need some help. Does anyone know of a place that will take someone without dental insurance in Lake County, IL. She fears the infection may have entered her sinus cavity as last time she went in they told her she had a sinus infection. please help!!
946207 tn?1246134385 My mouth is full of dental problems- I have 8 abcessed teeth. One bad infection is in one of my front teeth that hurts all the way up under my sinus cavity. I HAVE TO be sedated at the dentist (been this way since I was young- had abusive dentist when I was little girl who caused me alot of pain). NO low-income dental clinics will sedate me and I can't afford a regular dentist/oral surgeon/sedation. I am 43 yo tomorrow and am going to die from these infections in my mouth.
Avatar f tn My teeth and gums are on fire! There's no swelling, just throbing aches. I don't have dental insurance. Besides using Orajel, what are natural ways to relieve tooth and gum pains that won't hurt my baby?
Avatar f tn She gave the best answer. But jus so you know the baby takes a lot of calcium away from you so your teeth are extra sensitive I got the worst tooth aches thru out my pregnancy and actually had to have about 1300 dollars worth of dental work. It was not because of the baby lol just cause I finally had dental insurance but that's why your having tooth aches. I also had tubes in my ears when I was a baby so I'm real prone to ear infections.
