485259 tn?1519047026 The bad part of all of this now is While I have a treatment date for 5 hours of dental work ( getting most of it done in one session) I no longer have dental insurance and even at a Dental school/clinic the total cost is just about 15,000.00. SO I began with great fear of getting more dental work done as you were, I then had some hope the treatment could happen in a TN friendly enviorment, but now I am once again feeling hopless because of the Cost.
Avatar f tn Also should I be worried about the brown spot? And my last question is, should I apply towards dental insurance or could New Mexico medicaid cover all the expenses? My teeth never hurt but fillings are necessary as well as braces.

Avatar n tn hi, i don't have any dental insurance so I need to pick and choose which tests and procedures at the dentist are really needed. I ask you this because I hope to find unbiased opinion. Last time I skipped the peridontal xray, but got the cavity xray and cleaning...he found 2 tiny cavities that ran me $400 out of my pocket but later a hygenist said maybe that wasn't necessary as the decay could have been reversed... So what do I "really" need..
Avatar n tn Thank you for the advice. Right now, I do not have any dental insurance and I applied to see if I'll be able to see a mobile dental service for low-income or people without dental insurance. So, if I get accepted, I'll be able to get my teeth checked until then I'm out of luck.
768015 tn?1333652075 I am almost 34 weeks pregnant and was laid-off from my job on 6/30/09. They stopped my medical and dental insurance and I have been paying for my own insurance. Money is very tight right now and I actually had to leave my apartment becuase I couldn't afford it on unemployement. My question is about Medicaid? or is it Medicare? I am paying alot of money right now for Oxford and when my baby is born it will be so much more. I would really like to get help for insurance but not sure how.
Avatar n tn I have been to a couple of dentists last year and they all said all of my teeth need pulled. But right now my dental insurance is not great and i dont have 4,ooo dollars. So my teeth have decayed more and here lately when i first wake up in the mornings i get stomach pains for about an hour or two. So i was wondering if the tooth decay can drain toxins down into my stomach.
1027870 tn?1252056250 yes you too can have a dental plan that most reputable dentists will not accept! i would love to go to a dental mill full of new, inexperienced dentists.
620877 tn?1282764097 I work for a small company and I do not have those benefits, medical, dental, etc. I am fortunate that my husbands medical insurance is so comprehensive. I spoke to an insurance broker about my situation: not diagnosed, but being investigated and that my neuro is highly suspicious that I have MS.
Avatar n tn Thanks for the advice! I'm definitely going to ask my dentist what she thinks. I've run across a treatment called dental inlays, that are more conservative than crowns but strengthen the tooth. Do you think that could be a possible option for me, instead of the crown? The incisor might have too much surface area covered by filling to make an inlay possible, but the premolar only has one (deep and large) filling in it, so I think an inlay could be done on it.
Avatar n tn I have dental insurance but as we all know the coverage has been less and less over the past few years so I looked into dental discount programs. Did you know that some dental providers will accept both insurance and a dental discount plan togeather? It took me about 5 phone calls but I know it was worth it. On my first visit I had 3-cavitys filled. The cost after my insurance was $144. factor in the dental discount plan and my out of pocket cost was only $14!!! Check it out at http://www.
Avatar n tn s been in braces forever and we are looking toward dental implants when she is a few years older. However, I read where implants only last around15 years - is this true? Cost is definitely a factor since we have already spent a small fortune, so I am thinking bridge instead of the implants. Opinions?? Is there any other procedure we might consider? Thanks.
Avatar n tn My husband (40 y/o,healthy)and I (40 y/o, healthy) are looking to get our health insurance coverage from next present. Right now we are on cobra GHI( extension from my previous work place) but they are asking me to change to EMPIRE PPO or EPO since they will not have GHI. I did not have dental and vision coverage previously but even if I want it they are saying they cannot add it. They are also asking for a one year committment.
Avatar n tn I am disabled on Original Medicare, have no intent to buy private insurance... I am wondering, is it possible for an individual to get real, stand alone dental insurance? Everything I've looked at caps yearly benefits at $1,000 or so which is completely insulting considering the premiums are close to half of that. Where can you buy dental insurance that gives you "REAL" coverage?
Avatar n tn I have a large cavity in my molar (tooth 19). The dentist told me I need a root canal, but everyone I talk to INSISTS that its going to fall out and its a waste of money. My sister who has had 3 root canals said that everyone of them has fallen out and it would save a lot of money if I just got it pulled and got an implant. I don't have dental insurance so I would appreciate an honest answer. I don't have money to throw away on my teeth.
Avatar f tn Ok mommys that have medicaid . Will I get denied if I already have dental insurance but not health insurance?
Avatar m tn Hello, I can't remember the last time I was at the dentist but at the time the dentist said I had no cavities. Now I'm 21 and I have a cavity in on of my top molars. I don't know what to do, I don't have dental insurance and I really don't have the money to get it fixed. I don't want to wait any longer and have it get any worse but I don't have the extra arm and a leg the dentists charge.
Avatar f tn I live in Federal Way Wa, south of Seattle so if anyone can recommend a kind of compassionate dentist that can deal with a dental phobia patient I would appreciate it. Thanks!
Avatar m tn I am so far a healthy 43 year old/m in pa. I am trying to decide which health insurance plan will be good for my situation and I am looking for some opinions here. This Month my group plan ends and I can take cobra but there is no financial benefit to taking my same PPO plan which gives me to price break for being unemployed. So I am trying to look at this at a meaningful way. Since my PPO was $475/m plue $29 dental I just cant be paying that on my own now.
Avatar m tn clinics that support dental care. Or you can look into purchasing some dental insurance through your college? Or any combination of the above.
Avatar n tn I am just getting my own dental insurance next month, so I believe I would have to wait a year to see a periodontist with this particular insurance. If you have any suggestions on how to keep my gums as healthy as possible, so that I can avoid more problems, please let me know. Thanks so much.
Avatar n tn I really can't give you any advice ie how long or if the infection will spread, but if finances are a concern why don't you seek out an oral surgery residency program where the fees maybe better for you. Find a teaching hospital or dental school.
Avatar f tn Also, see if there is a birth center near you. I know our local BC has options for families with no insurance. The total out of pocket to deliver there and be seen throughout the pregnancy is about $4500 compared to 3x that amount about the hospital.
