Common Questions and Answers about Death quotes words of sympathy

death

Avatar f tn The cause of his death was probably a combination of a COPD exacerbation resulting in oxygen deprivation to his brain and other vital organs, and the already extensive brain damage from the stroke. All of this could occur, without the cause being apparent on the CT scan of his lungs. It is unlikely that the CT scan was completely normal, without evidence of bad COPD.
Avatar m tn I can't help with the diagnosis, but I do sympathize. The young age of 52 adds to the sadness. Being the one to discover the dead person just adds to the pain. While it was not my brother, I discovered a neighbor who had died in his front yard from a heart attack. I believe that added to my sadness from loosing a good friend. This forum may have some experience that directly relates. I don't know that the vicarious veins is related, but I doubt it. My sympathy.
Avatar f tn Lack of info will get us every time and trust me if the doc thought you were at any risk of sudden death you would not be reading this right now because they would be attempting to stave it off or else they would all be out of business.....good luck to you tho....i think maybe you need answers right from the horses mouth here....
Avatar m tn My dog died yesterday of acute liver failure. She had one day of lethargy, not eating, and staggering when she walked. We took her to the vet the next day and she died. Her urine was filled with blood. I had fed her some fatty foods two days before. Could I have contributed to her death through pancreatitis? What did I do wrong?
424839 tn?1268186246 Every single act and thought plays a role in shaping our existence, in both life and death. The law of causality permeates and molds the great eternal flow of cosmic life. What, then, are the practical implications of this philosophy? How should it affect our conduct and our outlook? In the first place it provides us with the courage to challenge both life and death.
460591 tn?1207150799 Things like little fortunes...or like horoscopes...or something? I try to read a page out of the "Tao Te Ching". This is the book that the guy from "A Million Little Pieces" read. That's where I heard of it. I feel like I appreciate it so much more being a recovering addict. I apply the page I read to my everyday life and it just fits. It's the type of thing you can shape to your life no matter what you are going through. Maybe some of you should check it out.
900662 tn?1469390305 Thanks John. It's nice to see there are public places still allowed to post quotes by religious leaders (even when they happen to be of a Christian persuasion). I'm more spiritual than religious these days but this type of advice must be what made Wesley and Methodism look so attractive in my childhood. I hope the nurses are putting Wesley's words into action as they care for your son. It's a good path toward holiness of heart and life for all.
Avatar f tn Ahhhhh someone please give me some words of encouragement I am struggling with what the point of life is I cannot see how things are ever gonna improve!!!!!
Avatar f tn as I know alot of my MH friends are as well... I thought it would be cool to get some of our favorite quotes in one place.... So, here's my first favorite and I'm sure I will post others later.... Can't wait to see yours as well... " If you can't convince them, confuse them!" -HARRY S.
158061 tn?1202678326 Marie was an Angel on Earth, now she is an Angel we can feel around us, she was a Sister I never had, a confident, a reservoir of hope and faith, but most of all, a Friend. I found these words I want to dedicate to her life, Death casts a frightening shadow over us because we are entirely helpless in its presence. We can struggle with other enemies -- pain, suffering, disease, injury -- but strength and courage cannot overcome death. It has the final word.
Avatar m tn I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. Although I can't answer your question. I am sympathetic. My husband died of a heroine overdose 1.5 years ago. It's a tough road but hang in here and talk about it. Frief can be very difficult.
444932 tn?1273980797 I just posted a new Journal Entry titled "Words of Encouragement." It is open for everyone to view, if you wish. In addition to addiction to Lortab, for the past couple of years, I have also struggled a lot with severe depression. I started collecting quotes that were meaningful and/or helpful to me in my struggles. I know some people think these things are cheezey or cliches, but I know that looking back over some of these quotes has helped give me much needed boosts once in awhile.
Avatar f tn Very Similar to my Music Lyrics Game, but instead of songs the first person would post a quote from a TV show or a movie. The next person would then try to guess what show/movie the quote is from (May ask questions) Once guessed, the person who guessed it would be able to post the next quote. The game would then continue so forth. I hope you enjoy this game!!!!
1298588 tn?1330318981 I say take your meds before you get on the plane. If you have a meditation you do, practice that, read, listen to favorite music with headphones, do anything you can to distract your thoughts from the "what if's." What iffing is a road you do not want to go down. I have a lot of the same issues you have. Focus on the positive. Airliners have first aid, especially on a trip that long. No one is going to "give you for lost.
Avatar n tn hello! my 11 year old lab died unexpectedly this week... he had 2 cancer surgeries of a spindle cell sarcoma 1 in his mouth 2 years ago and in june he had a large tumor removed from his neck area that was the same cancer.. he was doing great so we assumed. on monday he had a skin tag removed off of his elbow that had been there for years and recently started to bleed so i decided to have it removed with a local anesthetic. that was no big deal for him.
Avatar f tn That is an interesting way of putting it, Karey :-)) When I was doing caregiving, I called it "sitting on the log with". Sometimes we "howled at the moon together". It focused on "being with"..."coming alongside of"...in other words, my spirit was with. I couldn't "do for" as I am not the other person. Empathy to me is identifiying with...entering into the moment with. It is feeling/understanding ...a knowing in a sense.
Avatar m tn Thanks to all of you for the advise and support. Today was better than yesterday, so it seems to be trending that each day gets a little easier? I felt a spiral of emotions today, which was new. No control, yet again. This is hard!! I went to NA last night which gave me a needed boost, and I have my brother in town as a support buddy. He is 2 month sober alcoholic. I have a great support system, but I feel the need to explain a my case a little.
424839 tn?1268186246 My question is about these quotes I have been posting I would like to know if I posted some on religon would that offend anyone being that must would be refferancing Buddhsium but when you read the quotes the can be transfered into anyones faith so I would like to know if people would be offended thanks.

1056851 tn?1318720978 There are no words of sympathy that could encompass such horrid pain. It surely makes any pain I have carried look like a single piece of sand. How does one keep going in the face of such a nightmare? I hope family and friends will surround you in their love. Wordless here...
1718855 tn?1401756839 i demand payment of peeled grapes while one of you fans me!! thank u thank u!!
Avatar f tn Depression results because of the extreme loss someone feels and is absolutely normal process of grieving. Google the steps of grieving and allow the person you are trying to help lead the way. This is a process that cannot be interrupted and it has to play out. If depression levels are dangerous to the point of loss of health, persuade them to go to a doc for medication to balance them out a little. Other than that, just be there.
1118884 tn?1338592850 And all of your family as this is a tragedy for all. There are no words to express my sympathy fully but know that you have it completely. Anything I can do to help, please let me know.
