Only then can we tap the inexhaustible potential of life. In other words, we must advance beyond the mere struggle to stay alive and be prepared to ask ourselves for what purpose we live our lives.. While it is important to win, it's even more important to remain undefeated no matter what happens..

It enables us to see death not as some terrifying unknown but as a normal phase of existence that alternates with life in an eternal cycle. Second, it teaches us to treasure the life we are now living and to try to make it as worthwhile as possible.
Avatar n tn m sure that you have many wonderful memories of Katie, and those memories will never go away. She will live in your heart forever, and one day you will see her again. Here is one of my favorite poems in memory of your Katie: Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep. I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow, I am the sun on ripened grain, I am the gentle autumn rain.

Avatar m tn I had a pet toy poodle. He was 2 years old when he suddenly died. My parents are divorced so I was not with my mom (who has the dog) house when he died. Last time I saw him he was running around, being himself. My mom works long hours so he has been left alone from bout 10:30 to midnight. It was May 15 and when my mom came home at midnight she thought he was sleeping. He was laying there fine.
Avatar m tn After struggling with substance abuse, depression, anxiety and bipolar I have been in a pretty good place for the last 2 years, but I am struggling with memories of events where I put myself in risk of death when I was struggling with mental health issues. For instance, once I raced my car on a two lane road and went up to 120 mph before passing the other car. He slowed down and I passed but shortly after the road narrowed to two lanes.

Avatar f tn I am sooooo sorry that you have to live through a death of a cousin like this. I hope you have lots of great memories and are using those to help yourself move on after this. Asthma can't directly harm the heart but there are indirect ways it causes harm. The main way is through the lack of oxygen, if one can't breathe the heart doesn't recieve oxygen and literally starts to die (as well as the brain and other organs).
Avatar f tn Abby, Love knows No boundaries Love knows no end because love lives on.One of my favorite quotes is Death ends a life it does not end a relationship. My Mom passed away in August,I wish I could have a dream about my Mom,a happy one.I have a reaccuring dream since she passed, but not about her.Grieving is a natural part of closure.Sadness, loneliness, longing, and tears are all the hallmarks of grief. In time,if we allow ourselves to ,we leave grief and move on to honoring and remembrance.

Avatar f tn is there anyone else with this disease that their memories are really bad too or is it just me...I have read that it could effect the memory but have had a couple doctors tell me that they have never heard of this...Am I just crazy or is something else wrong with me...I mean there are times that I forget where i'm at and where i put things and it's worse than just going into a room and forgetting what your doing in there....sometimes i feel like i'm losing my mind...
Avatar m tn I remember messing up in school a lot but i have no memory of her beating me up. I have memories of my father beating my up when i was 5 years old... that was before he left. Me and my mother used to sleep in the same bed, since i was born until the age of 8. I'm wondering if sleeping in the same bed is causing my brain to block out any bad memories of her, or if something traumatic occurred and any bad memories of my mother are being blocked from my consciousness.
Avatar m tn I have been seeing quotes from others and writing quotes, and others in detox are requesting more. I know in my darkest hours that I chanted, "There is no problem so big that drugs can't make it worse." What has helped or is helping you? God, Grant me the serenity to Accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, and Wisdom to know the difference.
Avatar m tn She was 14, a lab/border collie mix, and she had some pain in her hips, but she was not acting different at all. I am shocked and puzzled about her sudden death. Could it have been something she ate? There was no vomit. She was still in her bed. Could it have been a heart attack? I'm guessing whatever it was, it caused some pain and was over. It breaks my heart that she is gone. And I am also thankful that she did not have months of suffering and pain, as she was getting older.

Avatar f tn m writing and I was wondering if someone with amnesia could recover part of their memories if they almost die since you are supposed to see flashes of them when you suffer a NDE. Is it theorically possible? Since to have amnesia you have to have brain damage, imagine if someone gets shot and loses too much blood. Would they be able to recover their memories?
332074 tn?1229560525 I just came from the hospital where I watched another one of my uncles take his last breathe. He died such a painful death and my family and I once again had our hearts ripped out. Everytime we lose another family member, I wonder how much more one family can take. I was blessed to have parents that each had 11 siblings, which means I was also blessed to have hundreds of cousins. What a great childhood I had growing up with all this family around. You never ran out of someone to play with.
