Common Questions and Answers about Dealing with death pet

death

Avatar f tn Just like falling in love takes time so does dealing with a passing of a loved one.Just opposite ways of feeling.Love and loss, two parts of life that both hurt. For loving anyone or anything, such as a pet can lead to pain. All feelings lead to pain and despair, eventually. So do we stop feeling, stop loving, stop caring,no we just learn to adjust to our new lives without that loved one that pet, that friend.whom ever.Death ends a life, not a relationship.

Avatar n tn Cheng, I have seen others post the same concern regarding the death of their pet, and the vet here has some very informative info that may help, so repost your question there too.... My belief regarding our loved companions we they go to their next destiny is: You have a bright and shining star in the heavens, another star shines ever so bright in the name of your loved pet, who guards the gates of heaven (Rainbow Bridge).
5944308 tn?1396478749 I love my boston terrier and treat her with the same love and caring heart that I do my children. She is only 1 1/2 and I am terrified about the day that I will have to put her to sleep. My 10 year old asked me once "Why didn't God make dogs and cats able to live as long as humans so that are hearts aren't broken every 12 years or so?" We had our other dog die at 11.5 years old before we got out recent dog and my son cried for days when he died.
Avatar m tn I had a pet toy poodle. He was 2 years old when he suddenly died. My parents are divorced so I was not with my mom (who has the dog) house when he died. Last time I saw him he was running around, being himself. My mom works long hours so he has been left alone from bout 10:30 to midnight. It was May 15 and when my mom came home at midnight she thought he was sleeping. He was laying there fine.
Avatar f tn for the baby and how much will effect him. I usually a very emotional person when dealing with death and I feel like a horrible person for not allowing myself to feel bad. What do I do???
124426 tn?1239928000 I am very sorry about the loss of your kitty, it hurst when our beloved "fur baby" dies. As to when is the best time to get another pet, well, it varies with each person, I think you will "just know" in your heart when the time is right, and you will find "just the right pet" as well.
Avatar n tn He is the person who should be discussing the cause of death with you. If possible, obtain a copy of the written autopsy report and review it with your vet. With the written report, you can also post the results to our Med Help vets on the Ask a Vet forum for their opinion. I assume you are in a cold part of the country if the vet initially suspected hypothermia? Was she generally an indoor pet and not used to being outside for long periods of time?
Avatar f tn I have dealt with pet loss in the past but it has only been 4 days but it being right before Christmas, looking at her stalking, her place where she would lay, is just overwhelming. I picked her up yesterday after being cremated and they saved me some of her hair. It just hurts so bad because I feel so bad that I was not there, not that I could have done anything but I wish I could see her again. Thanks for listening.
Avatar f tn It is a bereavement that has upset you, it should be dealt with as so.. Why would the therapist ban you dealing with this? I hope they would not. It takes 2 years to feel normal, i have been there. It slowly gets better, you separate from the thoughts a little more each week and things get better.
Avatar f tn re dealing with an old dog now, and I hope she goes the way Annabelle does, fast and in the arms of someone who loves her. She even had a good time going for a walk right before it, I don't think she could have been any happier at that moment. Your suffering now, but I hope you find some peace knowing Annabelle was happy till the end and well loved for 10 plus years.
Avatar f tn then very dear friend of mine on March 29th and then lost older brother (by ten months) who was 62 and had been diganosed with stage four throat cancer in November on March 30th of this year. It has been a struggle for me as also dealing with my own health issues but really miss almost daily contact with each of them; being pretty much home bound (some from lack of energy fromFMS and other causes as well as nerve damage etc.

1118884 tn?1338592850 door a few years ago when I was in fight for my life with anal cancer. He came and went on his schedule, often staying with me thru' hard nights. When the vet told me what was wrong with Bruno, and my options, I brought him back home, and saw to it that he lived as naturally and pain-free as he always had. The last three weeks of his life were hard for me, altho' he carried on with little fuss.
Avatar f tn i don't know how you deal with losing a child. I'm not so sure that i can ever get through this, how do you do it? I mean get up every day and not feel guilty for living without them. I feel so guilty every day for getting out of bed and her not being here. I need some advice please.
169867 tn?1327598654 I want a healthy cat that will live a long and happy life, I am concerned that I will be paying a lot of money for a pet who could come to us with already established health problems. Am I being overly cautious? Is a kitten (because it is still developing) more at risk of getting future health problems from these viruses than an older pet? Could the symptoms be something other than a URI? Should I be concerned?
Avatar f tn ll keep, as I like to keep my life simple, and dealing with an insurance company is so not that! Hate dealing with apt., car, health deals for myself....still.... I probably wouldn't have considered it, but my vet endorses VPI. I chose a plan, basically for catastrophic stuff. My guy is excluded for eye and upper respiratory problems associated with feline herpes.
Avatar n tn I can tell you that her death was not related to the vehicle at all she was not run over nor was she hit by the truck!! I believe it would have had to be some sort of health issue, people have said aneurysm or maybe blood clot would probably more so than a heart problem, as she had no previous symptoms and has been very healthy and active her whole life!!
Avatar f tn On her last night after I bathed her, I did hold her in a towel for 20-30 minutes, and I pet her down with some kitty wipes while she was resting. I put her on a big pillow outside my room with her food, but now I don't understand why I didn't bring her in my room to sleep with and cuddle me, or why I didn't shut the garage door all the way so she couldn't get out.
