One minute my lips will be fine and the next minute they are dark again. Initially, I thought it was sunburn because it started in the summer and I had been out in the sun but now it's still happening. Do you have any advice on why this is happening and what I can buy to prevent it.

Why are my lips turning colors? Why are they so dry and chapped? What can I do to make the dark spots go away? I have started using a cocoa butter stick at night and I use BurtsBees chapstick during the day. I have noticed a difference in the dryness, they are not as dry anymore but the dark spots are still there. Please help if you can.

She told me yesterday that throughout the year her teammates have asked her why her lips are purple. She is a very healthy young lady, eats well, exercises, sleeps well, and is committed to her training. Should I worry?
Over the years, I have consulted several dermatologist and none were able to tell me why my lips are discolored or how to treat them to remove the dark spots. My lips hare pink with brown spots with the darkest brown on my lower lip spreading towards the innermost part of my lip. I would like to stop wearing lipstick, but my lips draw the attention of others. I want my lips to be either all pink or all brown. What do you think has caused this discoloration?
Last july I started noticing little bumps on the edges of my lips. They woud always feel chapped and get irritated. I went to the Dr and was sent to a dermatologist. I was told that they were just glands that got irritated and to try some allergy medicine. It has been over 6 months and it comes and goes. The bumbs ae always there but they bother me all the time. Sometimes even burn. I stay away from spacy foods now and am almost afraid to eat.
My 13 month old grand daughter has dark purple lips, hands and feet with like red blotches. They are warm to touch. She was taken to emergency room today and no one had a clue what could be wrong. She has had watery diarrihea, but, is not really irritable. We have been pushing fluids and she's not dehydrated. The doctor said he would refer her to doctor in Madison, Wisconsin, as they are specialists in rheumatalogy there.Have no clue what to expect.
I have a spot on my bottom lip that is darker than the rest of my lips why? It doesn't hurt or itch it's just there. My lips don't get dry very often but I put chap-stick on before I go to bed and when I wake up. I don't normally use any lip products like lip gloss, lip stick, etc...

-( My head is hurting and my lips/tongue are still tingling. This drives me insane. I can't figure out why this is happening. If I have another dr or nurse say "that's impossible" b/c my tests come back negative, I'll scream. I can feel it, isn't it real? Maybe I am insane.
Then during the summer before 10th grade, my lips started getting black. My whole upper lip turned dark black and my lower lip had black on the sides only. My bottom lip is so huge that it hangs and my upper lip is also big. That means that this is the first thing people look at when they look at me. also, I noticed I got yellow dots grouped together on the middle of my upper lip. I think it may be Fordyce something.
Of course, if you have small lips, your blood pressure will have no problem covering that, but if you have.... ehm long lips, the blood will not go there, that's why long lips are usually dark. You won't find long vagina lips that are pink coloured. Well I never met them yet lol. Never wondered why pornstars actresses (a good 50% of them) have terrible vagina lips? lol Hope this helped.
about 2 months ago, I went to visit my physician regarding a problem I had with a ring of redness around my lips - more prominent on my bottom lip - it was a lighter, tender pink shade and kind of looked like I had been drinking lots of red kool-aid. I also had constant dry, cracked and bleeding lips, and tried everything from drinking plenty of water and making sure I wasn't licking them.
What happens is that when your lips become chapped, depending of severity, tiny tiny micro lesions occur throughout the lip. That's why chapped lips sometime stings. So then, when you use infected chapstick, the bacteria on the chapstick infects all the little mini cracks and crevices on the lip. (My outter lips were the most chapped and that's where the bumps occurred) The bumps are the result of little inflammatory reactions.
My lips feel like plastic. dry scabbs all over and dark. I like my lips but nothing helps. It feel like super glue is on them. it feel like adhesive on them and i wiped it off but some was left. So what is this?
2/3 mins after my heart rate has calmed a little the fingers on my right hand tingle and go numb as do my lips! Worst of all I cant talk properly and its not because of the tingly lips, I cant form proper words and have to talk so slowly I feel like I'm talking to a 2 year old child! Sometimes I end up vomitting other times I just need to lay down and sleep in a dark room. Can anyone offer any help?
at this point though I feel as though it's happening more and more frequently, and I would like to know why! Her lips, fingers, and feed turn blue-ish at least one to two times per day. Most often we notice it when she wakes up, either in the morning or from a nap. She has had no other health problems at all, although does seem to get congested more than I'd like.
When I was younger, my lips used to be a bright, ruby-like red color naturally. Now, they are more of a dull, red/dark pink color. Does anyone know if it is normal for lip color to change? What could be some reasons for this occurring? I miss the natural red lips!
Hi, I have a 6 year old Westie that has crusty dark skin peeling off her lips and the hair on her chin is turning dark. She also has licked her paws a lot and they are now turning rusty colored. We were given an ointment called Entederm for her lips as well as Monistat for her paws but neither have helped. also, when I put the ointment on her lips she licks it off and rubs her face all over the carpet so I don't know if she gets much actually on her lips.
ive always got whiteheads on my lips. .now they keep coming back all of a sudden thats why Im thinking I have hiv too! I can be a hypochondriac but something going on!
I had very MILD chicken pox when I was younger. I know people usually don't get it twice. COULD this have been 1 chicken pox lesion on my lip due to contact with Shingles? Even though the swab was HSV1+, I have read this: http://www.wardelab.com/13-1.html Dermal Virus Culture- This procedure tests for the presence of HSV and VZV. This test is useful for vesicular lesions. Historical data indicates that approximately 30% of non-genital VZV cultures are positive for HSV.
I was looking for something else & found the above comments. about 2 yrs. ago, or when ever pro health crest came out, I was one of the first to try it. Until I read all comments, I never associated the skin inside the mouth. Thinking back, it was a little while after brushing & i had changed to P.H. Crest. I didn't care much for it & switched to something else & i haven't had it since.
Need to know as to why my lips are dark in colour for I don't smoke nor drink and the only liquids I consume a lot of is Tea, maybe 4 cups a day...herbal and green tea, the rest of the time is water and I do try to use vaseline and not lipstick for the colour is never right since agian, due to the darkness of my lips.
also, I'm not sure why it is so dark in color...blood maybe? I have no idea what it is so if anyone could tell me what it might be and how to get rid of it I would be super grateful! Thanks. ps- I do not think it is an STD because I was checked recently for them.

or not lol but the recent one i got about a week ago, i was wondering why it hadnt gone down so i was doing some research and noted some things down then tonight i had a hot bath then took to the lump with a sharp safety pin, just 'gently' tearing the top of the lump a little in various places (just did what my instinct told me to, to be honest!) and it started bleeding slightly (it did hurt) then i gave it a go of squeezing it abit, then alot, then harder etc.
