Common Questions and Answers about Dangers of smoking pipe tobacco

smoking

I just puff gently on it taking a long time to finish the pipe. What are the dangers of pipe smoking as apposed to cigerettes if you do not inhale the pipe. personally I cant se how there can be any stress on the heart as there is no smoke entering the lungs or bloodstream.
Self-reported current pipe and cigar smokers had elevated urine cotinine levels compared with never-smokers. (Cotinine is a biomonitoring marker for tobacco smoke. Pipe-years smoked were associated with significant reductions in lung function (COPD).
ie stale tobacco. I dont smoke nor does anyone in my family. I did like an odd cigar quite a few years ago and did smoke cigarettes to a small amount in my youth. I have the smell again today and smelt my sweatshirt to see if some obscure reason the smell came from there but of course it didnt. i am semi retired and use my laptop for many hours in the day so I wonder if this is where the smell is coming from.
I don't smoke pot but I've heard that it can be worse than smoking tobacco since one tends to inhale deeper and hold it in longer than cigarette smoke
if you have diabetes and you smoke... add the gym into the equation. And if you can reduce tobacco in your spliffs and abstain from alcohol consumption...
I figured it was smoke coming through from the floor above (although I knew the folks upstairs didn't smoke). It didn't have a distinctively cigarette, cigar, pipe, food, or marijuana smell but just something I described as "smokey". I don't smoke and rarely do I burn something while cooking. Recently, while travelling I got the smell again when going to sleep, so I knew it was something I was 'carrying' with me.
The longer you smoke and the more packs a day you smoke, the greater your risk. Cigar smoking and pipe smoking are almost as likely to cause lung cancer as cigarette smoking. Smoking low-tar or "light" cigarettes increases lung cancer risk as much as regular cigarettes. There is concern that menthol cigarettes may increase the risk even more since the menthol allows smokers to inhale more deeply.
The stress from my job is killing me, but I can't quit smoking no matter how hard I try.... I've been smoking since I was twelve, smoking regularly throughout high school, smoking even more college and law school; and kept on smoking during my two years working as a law clerk for the county courthouse, almost two packs a day for the past ten years --- and I just dont know how to quit.
So I've had like a day and a half since I actually put anything in my pipe and smoked it (always wanted to say that!!!). I might cheat a little until the stomach problem goes away. Of the two, I'd rather finish settling on my new dose of methadone (it's a hard drop, this one, very low). Or not...I think I finally feel like it might be better...I hope! But...I think it's working. It gave me a week or two to get used to not lighting cig's, and not freaking when I saw my wife light one.
His brother was if anything a heavier user than him and was diagnosed with lung cancer recently(late 40's, youngest kids 18) attributed to smoking marijuana through a bong for over 20 years, plus all the tobacco in the spliffs. His wife just died with lung cancer last year. She was a heavy cigarette and marijuana smoker from teen years up until her diagnosis.
there isn't a large cohort of regular smokers reporting lung cancer as there is with tobacco, and that can be reduced by smoking from a pipe rather than rolled in paper. But most medical marijuana is recommended to be eaten, not smoked, because of potential problems with lung function but more because it lasts longer and is stronger in potency when eaten cooked than when smoked. Now, as I said, I wouldn't use marijuana for mental illness, but that doesn't mean it won't help someone else.
Your parents could be smoking tobacco out of the bongs...So dont assume they're doing drugs just because you see that. Thats why its legal to buy bongs in tobacco shops..Now, they could be doing drugs. But it really just depends. I wish you the best of luck honey.
a couple of pipes ( in case I take up smoking a pipe...). Magazine subscriptions, a really nice Trek bicycle.... Ran up aboot $20,000 on my VISA card in a little over 4 months and thought nothing of it and I NEVER did that type of thing before. Never. The balance on that card was steadily $500-$1000 for YEARS. Other than that, I had no side effects from the drugs. Bwhaaaaa !!! Nooooobody NO BODY can tell me those drugs don't make you nuttier than shiit.
i told them it was something used to smoke tobacco in. well they came back with but you could smoke meth or crack in it too. I was shocked! Heck I don't know. I have no idea how you do that stuff or what it even looks like. I asked my son how in the world would u know that. he said tv. ok sorry i think im rambling. my husband went back to work today. he's been home for like 6 days. so yeah today is the first day i can talk without him coming in and telling me i will cause a devorce.
What about tobacco? I mean, a lot of times when children smoke that first cigarette they will cough and choke because they don't like it. But they'll have another cigarette and another. What's going on there? Hyman: With drugs that are harder to like at first, like tobacco, people teach each other to enjoy them. The peers of a child trying his first cigarette create an atmosphere where that act receives approbation, where toughing it out is respected and cool.
it can't!!
it'll never happen so why waste that little energy on a pipe dream (an opium pipe? HA) where's my medicinal poppy when i need it? There is such a talented pool of us "addicts" out there---we are a little over-sensitive maybe but very intelligent as a group ---we could do something together. I love what you guys have to say and how you say it---most people today can not even structure a sentence---and what you say so well has application and generalizes to broader society.
It can also occur in the ventrical or lower portion however this is more uncommon and supposedly a little more dangerous. Once the heart is in this state you are not pumping blood efficiently and you may experience some dizziness and exhaustion. If you have pain, tightness in the chest and or not able to breath you need to get to the doctor a.s.a.p.. I like that you keep track and take note of the different things going on.
