Avatar n tn All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out. Dandruff shampoo should be used every few days, and you may need to try several shampoos before you find one which works.

Avatar m tn Hi I've just found this forum and I'm delighted! I have to wash my hair EVERY day and by lunchtime it smells bad, more so on my scalp but my hair too! I've tried T-Gel, Nizorel, Vosene, Sulphur shampoo, anti dandruff stuff prescribed by the doctor (who actually didn't believe me, she clearly didn't get close enough!) and I'm starting to get paranoid, not to mention worried about the condition of my hair due to constant washing, drying straightening.
Avatar f tn dandruff is dry skin - you can rub lotion into your scalp
Avatar f tn Once you have the condition under control, use a more gentle shampoo for your hair type - you may be better off using the baby shampoo - nothing to be embarrassed about.
Avatar m tn If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a trichologist. Regarding the hair loss, unless and until the hair follicles are intact, hair will regrow. Otherwise you may need hair transplantation. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps.
Avatar f tn ve heard awful things about head and shoulders brand so i choose not to use it. I just use a good moisturizing shampoo because dandruff is caused from your scalp being dry.
Avatar f tn i have just colored my hair in nov and i have dandruff. i am trying to find a dandruff shampoo that is good for African American hair and wont strip my color every time i use it. any suggestions?
Avatar n tn My hairdresser told me that dandruff shampoo was making my flakes much worse. I switched to Neutrogena moisturizing shampoo and conditioner and my scalp has been salvaged as well as my hair. I still occasionally have flakes but they are few an far between.

Avatar f tn Just make sure the dandruff shampoo is okay'd by your dr. I know, crazy, it's just shampoo right? But personal care products can have things in them you shouldn't use, esp during first trimester. Motherrisk at Sick Kids can also help.
Avatar n tn You can treat flaking and dryness with over-the-counter dandruff or medicated shampoos. Shampoo the hair vigorously and frequently (preferably daily). Active ingredients in these shampoos include salicylic acid, coal tar, zinc, resorcin, ketoconazole, or selenium. If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a dermatologist. Hope it helps.Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional doubts.
Avatar f tn Hello, I'm moving along slowly. I'm almost 7 weeks. Is dandruff normal? If So is there any way to get rid of it? Thanks.
Avatar n tn It started out of the blue, my scalp became very itchy and I could not help scratching it, when I scratched it, what appeared to be white flakes of skin came off. I thought this was just normal dandruff so bought Anti-dandruff shampoo (over the years I have tried every Anti-dandruff shampoo you can think of, even stuff from my GP).
Avatar n tn Perhaps due to this scalp infection pimples keep appearing now and then on my forehead and along the hair lines on my face, for which i use clearsil soap with which it goes only to reappear again. i wash my hair with Head and Shoulders shampoo on alernate days and have my even started using Candid TV shampoo, 2 days a week, but there is no relief. Please suggest a remedy.
Avatar n tn t anything visible except dandruff, so is my hair loss without scalp disease? My father has dandruff too but not hair loss. so, is my hair loss associated with tinea? Once I did take pills suggested by a dermatologist but that did not really help.
Avatar f tn And when the bottle says lather rinse repeat actually repeat. Lol. For dry scalp dandruff you canuse mayo on your hair coat scalp and hhair leave on for 15 min rinse off. Or 3tbsp olive oil one egg and I think it was a tbsp of vinegar and put that on your hair leave on for 15 and rinse. These are easy recipes you can find online.
Avatar n tn i have great dandruff problems on my scalp. i try lots of shampoo but no improve. for this reason i lose my hair and on my scalp there r also itching problems. and also i have alargic problems on my skin like itching. so what i do now??? to save my hair...please inform me.. bye...
Avatar m tn I would go see another dermatologist about it before trying to treat it yourself. Dandruff shampoo should help a bit, but when I had eyebrow and face "dandruff" (seborrheic dermatitis), it was a course of ketoconazole cream that did the trick, and not the dandruff shampoo.
Avatar m tn Lately i have noticed i have dandruff, i heard of shampoo that gets rid of it, does anyone know any kind of shampoo or other thing that does, i have tried showering even More often then i do, which is alot, and it still doesnt go away, i want to get rid of it soon, only got it about a week ago. Thx for ur answers.
Avatar m tn Well, it's been about two months since this treatment started. I went through an entire bottle of otc nizoral. I've stopped using it for now, I started freaking out over the the hair while washing my hair with it. Which was about 14-20 every time i used it. I tried the clinical strength H&S, but it dried out my hair and didn't have much of an effect. I've recently started using Aveeno Anti-dandruff/seb. derm. shampoo.
