Avatar n tn What does dandruff shampoo do for the flaky dermatitis on the eyelid? Are you saying by strictly using a dandruff shampoo that will help the flaky dry skin go away on your eyelid? Or do you use the shampoo and also rub it on your eyelid during the process? Hmmm, confused.
Avatar m tn I used to have dandruff, but it has essentially cleared after using zinc shampoo a few times a week. But the skin is still greasy under my brow and on my eyelid, which results in hairs being weak and falling out. Any suggestions to clear up the greasy skin? I've tried hydrocortisone cream, but to little avail. Also, the condition seems to worsen after a night of drinking alcohol - is that part of the problem?
Avatar f tn The hospital is not needed for cradle cap, use a little baby oil and a soft brush twice a day. Selsum blue dandruff shampoo works great also. 99% of the time they grow out of it, my daughter is 2 and has had it since she was a nb.
Avatar m tn Or any dandruff shampoo that indicates on the bottle that it can be used for Tenia. You should speak with your doctor, to make sure this is what it is. You can also speak with a pharmacist who can suggest with shampoo you can use on those spots. When you use the shampoo, lather it on the area for two minutes then rinse. Hopefully this should help.

Avatar f tn Seborrheic dermatitis on the scalp can be treated effectively by using an anti-dandruff dandruff shampoo containing ketoconazole or salicylic acid or selenium sulfide. If symptoms recur, you may again begin with the treatment prescribed by your dermatologist. Take care.
Avatar f tn It sounds like you have dandruff- which the selsun blue shampoo should help, but sometimes it can be resistant to anti-dandruff shampoos for various reasons. You could try some other brands (such as head and shoulders) or you could try some home remedies- lemon juice or apple cider vinegar. If that doesn't work, you may want to head back to your doctor to see if the flakes are indications of another medical condition- it could be something like eczema.

Avatar f tn We have shown her to the PCP 2 times and the first one said she thought it was eczema and asked us to shampoo regularly and to give her a hair wash regularly. The 2nd one said she could not see anything and asked us to keep skin dry. We have tried cetaphil, seldom blue shampoo, olive oil on scalp but the itching hasn't subsided. It just keeps getting worse. She even itches her eyes, face with no obvious patches or redness.

Avatar f tn My four year old has been scratching her head (all over her scalp) for a few weeks now. At first I thought it might be lice, but I inspect her hair every few days and haven't seen any nits or lice. As an infant she had eczema, so I thought maybe it was that, but she doesn't have any redness or bumps on her scalp. I don't think it's dandruff because thereare no flakes. We wash her hair every night in the shower with kids shampoo and use regular adult conditioner.
9562964 tn?1416928231 Nizeral, polytar and t gell shampoo are all great for dandruff. You could try nioxin shampoo. You get a 3 part system. Nioxin cleanser , scalp revitaliser ( conditioner) and scalp treatment. It is designed for thinning hair but would help your dandruff aswell. It will unblock blocked follicles to aid hair growth and also make the hair you have look thicker and stronger.

Avatar f tn But does these symptoms resembles dermatitis or eczema? I mean getting flakes on face is not normal I guess. I have had dandruff on scalp but face is very ambarrasing. Also I have read on Internet that these doesn't have cure? When I get up in morning I see white flakes on face. Also after washing my face becomes completely dry and flakes would appear which doesn't go away until I apply lotion to hide it.
1041303 tn?1421387341 Our hair and oil in our hair changes dramatically in pregnancy. Some women get oily hair others get dry skin including on their scalps. Switch to a mild shampoo (even a baby one will work well) and it will ease the scalp from drying out and itching. I get eczema in my scalp and have always had to use a mild shampoo to stop me itching. You might have to wash your hair twice a day to begin with.
Avatar n tn Hello Dr. About a month ago i developed scabs/rash on the back of my scalp/neck. I thought that it was just dandruff so I bought some shampoo. The shampoo didn't help and the scabs started hurting and my scalp became raw with me scratching it. It itches really bad. I have tried every shampoo on the market. Everything causes burning except for Aveeno which I am now using. I went to the Dr. and he said that it was like dandruff and that I would have it the rest of my life.

Avatar n tn Hi, The best way to treat dandruff is to use a dandruff shampoo. Look for shampoos with ingredients such as zinc pyrithone, salicyclic acid, coal tar, selenium silfide, or ketoconazole. All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out.
Avatar m tn After beginning to use dandruff shampoo to wash it daily, trying to keep the foreskin retracted daily and using a combination of Lotrimin AF and coconut oil it seems to be going away quite well. The dandruff shampoo was something I read about on another website and it seemed to make the biggest difference.
Avatar n tn I have never had dandruff before. The flakes are pretty big and there is this one spot where if i go to scratch my scalp it always bleeds. I have tried changing shampoos and washing my hair with cold water instead of hot but nothing has made it go away. I notice a reduction in flakes the day i shower but after that it gets worse. Im not sure if i should see a doctor or not. What could it be?

2040565 tn?1329854742 On other days, I use Ouidad Curl Quencher Moisturizing Shampoo and conditioner. Once every 2 weeks, I use Paul Mitchell clarifying shampoo three. Once every week, I use Matrix Essentials solutionist Instacure leave in conditioner and macadamia oil. Even when I just shampoo/condition and cut out everything else, I still get a crusty scalp. The flakes are large, pure white, and caked onto my scalp.
Avatar f tn I have been having this problem and my mom had the idea to use baby shampoo instead of my usual shampoo and it seems to be doing the trick!! Skin can be super sensitive during pregnancy and baby shampoo is very gentle. I was using a psoriasis shampoo and it wasn't working anymore!
