1654177 tn?1319838494 Some people have had good results with using fine olive or coconut oil. Put a little on your palms, rub your hands together and rub onto your scalp after you shampoo/ I've never used Noxin though I do use a mild shampoo and rinse. I've lost some hair but started out with such a thick mane that people roll their eyes at me if I complain.
Avatar f tn s usually quite simple to clear up. Add a little extra virgin olive oil to your dogs meals and/or supplement with Essential Omega-3 Fatty Acids. You might also reduce the weekly flea baths and intermix them with organic oatmeal baths which are quite soothing. Remember for most of us, the fall season is approaching which is when dogs shed their coats to prepare for winter.

Avatar f tn I have the same issues- had thyroid cancer, removal of thyroid. I use regular shampoo with tea tree oil and find that it works better than dry scalp shampoos. Tea tree oil also helps in the bath with skin dryness (probably any oil would help- I've heard Olive Oil helps too, but tea tree works well for me.
Avatar n tn s a really attractive look, lol), I use olive oil and scalp oil I bought at the salon mixed together and apply it to my scalp all over and give myself a little scalp massage.
Avatar f tn They used to use castor oil or olive oil rubbed in then use a tooth comb to pick it out and an appropiate shampoo after wards, there are things OTC now that may help, I do not know about the one you mention in your post, a drug store may have a pharmasist can advise.
Avatar f tn I washed it, conditioned it, put a little of olive oil (food-grade), then I braided my hair in about 8 plaits. I have to wash my hair every week b/c of my scalp. I'm unable to wear twist-outs/braid-outs or any hairstyle that requires me to wear my hair out. I can't wear puffs or Afro's. I have to wear a half-wig daily and I take it off nightly.
Avatar m tn To sooth my skin, I use jojoba oil and chemical-free lotions. The olive oil hair product from Hollywood Products also helps. I do this everyday. For some odd reason, keeping my neck moist makes me feel much more comfortable.(Im also taking Claritin everyday because my MD recommended it. It helps) The key change i started 2 weeks ago, and I have had a 70-80% improvement. I have started an anti-yeast diet: very low carb, no sugar, high fiber.
Avatar f tn I thought I wAs The only one that had this problem lol....but putting a little warm olive oil on my scalp really his helped me.....and also mixing one part castor oil to two parts olive oil and applying that to my scalp one a week has help me A great great deal....I put it in a little bottle like you would use for hair dye and apply just a little to my scalp once a week......also I wAs my hair once weekly....
Avatar n tn Once a week use about 1/4 of any oil (coconut, argan, olive, avocado, etc) and massage it into your scalp. Leave overnight then shampoo and condition as normal. To exfoliate your scalp, once a week add some sugar into your shampoo and massage your scalp with it. Be sure to rinse it all out! Also, most people think that just the ends need to be conditioned and that the scalp will get too oily if you condition it.
Avatar n tn I'm 14yrs old(bday was november26th) and it's been almost a year from now and I still have dandruff!! I've tried a lot of things. I don't know what to do!it would be great if you could help me.
Avatar n tn Try using extra virgin olive oil on your Skin and hair. Use it as a conditioner to reduce dandruff and provide some moisture to the scalp. Wash it out the next day, but keep treating your hair with it to help with itchy, dry scalp. I think that's why a hot sauna worked best for your condition...the moisture.
1282085 tn?1271747516 , shampoo three times a week and after the shampoo, topically apply Olive Oil or Tea Tree Oil to my scalp and face. My face has been clear since last week and a half after a week of that but I know that it will surface again. Now you suggested mild steroids and antifungals - what particular items are best? I am willing to spend the money if its a sure tail thing that it will work.
Avatar f tn I use a tea tree shampoo everyday to prevent lice when I worked in childcare and because it helps with dandruff. I used olive oil lotion (in hair care aisle) and put it in all day under a shower cap. End of the day washed it out and had hubby comb my hair with a lice comb. I got it from my nieces when they stayed over one night in my first trimester.

Avatar n tn Hi, The best way to treat dandruff is to use a dandruff shampoo. Look for shampoos with ingredients such as zinc pyrithone, salicyclic acid, coal tar, selenium silfide, or ketoconazole. All of these ingredients have been shown to work on dandruff; to use the shampoo, apply it to your scalp and hair, rub vigorously, and allow it to sit for five minutes so that the ingredients can work before rinsing it out.
Avatar f tn Hi, my daughter is 3 months old. She has had problems with an itchy scalp. Recently it has gotten worse. She itches all the time. We have shown her to the PCP 2 times and the first one said she thought it was eczema and asked us to shampoo regularly and to give her a hair wash regularly. The 2nd one said she could not see anything and asked us to keep skin dry. We have tried cetaphil, seldom blue shampoo, olive oil on scalp but the itching hasn't subsided. It just keeps getting worse.
Avatar f tn Most times on the shampoo the will be a company number to ask the age one can use these shampoos, when my kids had it I used Olive oil and let it sit on there for a while to soften it then picked it off with a tooth comb, I guess it sounds like you did similar thats when the question arises how to prevent it, well if it comes back, do it again, maybe at some stage it wont come back, have you thought to google 'cradle Cap" and see any ideas out there on prevention.
