Avatar n tn So I went on copper and zinc supplements and started incorporating copper and zinc heavy foods in my diet ( oysters, nuts…etc). Still this did not help. So after 2 years my hair is still falling out, I am 25 yrs old now, there is no family history of hair loss or baldness, all my grandparents, parents and relatives have a full head of hair. I used to have very thick long hair, I’ve lost about 80% in thickness of my hair. I have short hairs all over my head (new growth is falling out too).

You might even request a biopsy (rarely done) to try to eliminate other possible causes and to try to learn what type of psoriasis you have. Here is an article which lists treatments for psoriasis: http://www.mayoclinic.

506570 tn?1215836300 I have tried researching skin conditions in Malamutes and found a lot of information on zinc-responsive dermatosis in Alaskan Malamutes. I would love to know if anyone else is giving their dog zinc supplements and how you went about finding out that your dog has zinc-responsive dermatosis. I have spoken to my vet about this and they didn't seem to know a lot about it. Also, the dandruff flakes are on his sides and body in general.

Avatar f tn Hi, wondering if anyone has an answer for me. I used to get dandruff on and off and I used head & shoulders or others like it and it worked fine. This winter, however, my scalp has gotten extremly dry and itchy and flaky, and sore from all the scratching. I tried a bunch of more heavy duty OTC shampoos for dandruff, but none worked. I used an essential oils scalp massage and that worked for a bit. Now it is out of control and driving me crazy.
Avatar m tn dry parts on my head that I can feel and scrape off which leaves dead skin cells on my finger tips, therefore I know my scalp is dry. However, head and shoulders and other anti dandruff shampoos have done nothing at all to stop the itch. The only thing that worked was last year when I got a prescription Allegra D. The antihistimine must have stopped the itching for the time being but it did not solve the problem. Any help would be appreciated, thanks!
