Common Questions and Answers about Cytomel reviews

cytomel

Avatar m tn When you were on the Cytomel, did you split the dose? Are you taking the Tirosint at a different time of the day? Just trying to figure out this difference because it is not at all logical. Bottom line is that you have apparently found the magic bullet. Congratulations and I hope this continues to work for you for a long time!
Avatar n tn t take it. About 3 years ago, at my urging, he got a referal to an endocrinologist who said to try Cytomel. Our insurance didn't cover it without a note from the doctor, which the doctor never did and never returned calls (later read reviews about the doc, not one positive one). Husband says, forget about it. Now new doctor, she wants him on it, he went back on it, slowly increasing the dosage.
1401696 tn?1280838616 STOPTHETHYROIDMADNESS has been tracking people that are switching to Nature or ERFA (the canadian one). So far good reviews. I would wean off the cytomel and start off slowly with the Naturals and your new dose of synthroid. JUST START slowly. And what seems to help me is breaking the dose in 2 morning and early afternoon You may feel you dont need the synthroid anymore once you are stable and your labs look good. keep me posted goodluck.
988694 tn?1332359479 Here is a link that has reviews about him, however, I am not only giving you info from reviews, my friend also is his patient and loves him. http://www.thyroid-info.com/topdrs/newjersey.
1735424 tn?1357433558 I had some gastro pain a couple of weeks after vic was introduced (week 10), this resolved after a couple of weeks. HGB, Platelets, WBCs and ANC were all normal prior to tx and became quite low. Rescue drugs were necessary to keep going. I was in a trial and completed a 43 week tx 6 months ago. It was tough but ok as I pretty much expected. Good luck with your treatment, what week are you in?
252327 tn?1250183976 t converting my t4 into t3, So today my doctor added cytomel 25mcg, should he have lowered my dose of synthroid? Is it ok to take the same dose with cytomel? I have hypothyroidsim and hashimotos.
Avatar f tn usually your T4 med is DECREASED when Cytomel is started as T4 converts into T3 (cytomel) so you may be a little hyper at present. Get back to your Doc.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to have a TT tomorrow 07/06/10 for enlarged goiter and also Graves disease. This is my first surgery and I am terrified!! I know that in the scheme of things this is a pretty routine and "easy" surgery but still I am scared. I just want to know if there is any advice that many of you who have already gone through this can offer. Also, I have already been prescribed synthroid 100 mg and cytomel 5mcg's and was wondering what your experiences were with these drugs..
Avatar n tn If not, why are you on T3-only med (Cytomel)? What were your labs a week ago before going on the Cytomel, and were you on any other meds then?
1070570 tn?1283436213 I was up to 125 mcg synthroid, then dropped back to 75 synthroid, then switched to 75 generic levo and added 10 mcg cytomel. That was too much cytomel, so dropped back to 5 mcg cytomel and switched to generic; then up to 88 mcg levo, staying with 5 mcg generic cytomel. Am currently on 100 mcg Tirosint and 5 mcg generic cytomel. I take the Tirosint first thing in the morning, per instructions (my day starts 3:30 am). I take my T3 med about 7-7:30 am.
Avatar f tn She told me she was 20 lbs over weights due to being hypo and was only be able to loose few lbs even with teaching many aerobic classes and eating healthy until she heard of Cytomel. She started taking 25mcg of Cytomel 4 yrs ago and noticed the fat melted quickly. She is now at her ideal weight and very fit.
Avatar f tn s fairly rare for somone to be on Cytomel only. Usually a small dose of Cytomel is added to the Synthroid, which may have to be reduced to accomodate the Cytomel. Cytomel (T3) is very fast-acting, so it has to be taken several times throughout the day if taken by itself. This leads to intra-day ups and downs in hormone levels. Do you have the results of your latest lab tests (FT3, FT4 and TSH) and their reference ranges?
765572 tn?1234697366 Can you take just Cytomel? I am on levothyroxine and feeling awful. I heard that this generic of Synthroid is actually not the same as Synthroid and that it is not as good. I heard some people have fabulous results on Armour and Cytomel. Why are Dr's so reluctant to prescribe these other meds? I heard Cytomel really helps with fatigue. All I want to do is sleep, it's awful.
Avatar f tn I thought that the generic cytomel was exactly as the brand cytomel. no difference what so ever. I thought I read this somewhere in these forums???? i am on the generic for 3 weeks now and I really feel no different. the doc gave me 25 mg of cytomel to add to my 75mcg of synthroid. advice from you guys, so I cut my synthroid in half and taking only 6 mcg of cytomel. but I have been taking 1/2 of cytomel in the morning and breaking the other half in two. so yeah that is 25 mg.
