cytomel

988694 tn?1332359479 Don't give up too quickly. I recall seeing somewhere that Cytomel is the only thyroid med without any side effects.
1139187 tn?1355706647 I had some questions for you guys regarding cytomel. I am taking straight cytomel. I am on about 12 MCG at this point. I have been slowly building. My ears have been ringing like crazy but i dont have the weird buzzing/neuropothy feeling i had before when taking synthroid and tirosint. I am assuming and hoping that my body will adjust, but can a person Just take cytomel forever? Is this healthy? I dose it throughout the day. I take it in very small amounts either 1.25 or 2.5.
Avatar n tn I too have bee suffering horribly since the return of Levoxyl it was my perfect T4 med while I also added Cytomel and felt great for 9 years. But the recall left me chasing another T4 med and I haven't been the same since. They have obviously added more fillets and I'm reacting to the fillets they put in it. I remember the good days when it' was slightly chalky and dissolved quickly on my tongue if I used water but today it's coated really well and really hard to break.
Avatar n tn hi,I have been on the same generic version of cytomel since July.once i tried another brand and i swear it made me feel ill, like slow walking..anyways we changed pharmasists and the only kind they have is the one i felt made me sick..so im trying it today..would there be any difference.i dont see how just a different manafactuer could make the pill make me feel bad I think Im just scared.
Avatar f tn ve been on 112 synthroid for 7 days and 75 cytomel (25/three times day) for 7 days. Yesterday I started getting really strange sensations in my legs. Its just an aching that won't stop. I think it is nerve related. It is in both legs and moves around. Seems like it might be restless leg-type symptoms. The longer I am still, the more the discomfort builds until I just have to move around. Any idea what might be causing this? I can't sleep because it is so uncomfortable.
822804 tn?1298226302 I have been taking cytomel 25mcg for about 3 weeks....First was the generic form and I was dealing with alot of heart palpitations...the second script was written for the name brand and the palpitations were alot less,is there any other dosage or any other type of T3 med that I can take that will work?I feel great on Cytomel...i havent felt like this since before I was diagnosed with having hypothyroidism...
Avatar f tn My thyroid doctor determined high reverse T3, small amount of antibodies, and generally low range T3 and T4, TSH varied high to low. Gradually switched from synthroid to cytomel only, and after much better t3/reverse t3 ratio, added synthroid. I'm taking 25mcg cytomel (half in AM, half in afternoon), and 25 mcg Synthroid. I don't have my recent labs, however my TSH was around 2, T3 in the top of the range and T4 in the very bottom of the range. Reverse T3 ratio was perfect.
1378884 tn?1315505845 Since you are taking both T4 and T3 meds, I expect that to move up both your FT3 and FT4 levels with require tweaking both Synthroid and Cytomel upward, but not so fast that your body has an unwanted reaction to the dosage increase. Many members increase by anywhere from 10 - 25 mcg of synthroid and 5 mcg of Cytomel, until you hit your "sweet spot" that relieves symptoms.
Avatar n tn While in the hospital my doctor only prescribed cytomel and from what I can recall that is when I felt the best. When they stopped the cytomel and only gave me synthroid everything has been up and down for years.. Today is 10/3/19 and I asked my doctor to add cytomel to my regimen. My doctors has only done blood work for TSH and T4.. I asked for cytomel because I can feel that I have gained a few pound but my TSH levers indicate that I am hyper TSH 0.17 t- 4- 1.
Avatar n tn Why was c-phen dm infant drops recalled?
Avatar m tn Your thyroid levels are important to a developing baby. I can't recall all the issues; however, you do need to have your TSH monitored every 4-6 when you're pg and take your meds regularly. I have been on synthroid through 3 pgs one of which ended in a m/c (don't know if thyroid was to blame or not). Please get re-checked and start back on your meds.
Avatar m tn ve tried a varied amount of medication and dosages (Levothyroxine, Synthroid, Armour, Naturethroid, Armour + T4, Levoxyl, and due to the recall Synthroid again, and now Cytomel) and I believe that I have discovered the limits of medication that my body can tolerate (no more than 25 mcg T4, and I don't seem to be able to tolerate T3). My last blood test (7/20/2013) revealed: TSH- 6.070 mIU/L (Range: 0.270-4.200 mIU/L FT4- 1.00 ng/dL (Range: .93- 1.70 ng/ dL) FT3- 2.
Avatar n tn Levoxyl 50 and the Cytomel 15 mcg. I split the Cytomel up during the day. But weight gain, severe bloating and other unpleasantness is increasing, as is the sleeping.. We are re-doing the 24 hr cortisol urine collection, due to a lab era in November. But here are the current blood labs (When I was on this combination: 50 levox/25 Cytomel: TSH: 0.01 L T3, Free 3.3 (2.3-4.2 pg/mL) T3, Total 88 (76-181 ng/dL) T4, Free 0.8 (0.8-1.8 ng/dL) Cortisol, Free, Urine 64.2 (4.0-50.
Avatar n tn My cognitive evaluation showed a worsening in terms of rate of performance or speed on various tests of executive function and delayed verbal recall and visual information is moderately impaired. My throglobulin antibodies were High at 28 and my thyroid peroxidase antibodies were 558 They want to put me on a IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin for five days and I am a little worried about all of the side affects, etc.
1549937 tn?1300220335 My Endo doc told me yesterday to then take just ONE pill of the generic 5 mcg Cytomel ONCE a day instead of twice as he had originally instructed me to. I had just started taking this drug on Thursday and had reactions with it..... So yesterday, after being on this forum, I decided to try just HALF the 5 mcg Cytomel yesterday, by trying the best I could to cut this tiny pill in half. I actually didn't have the numbness ANYTHING like I had before last night after taking it. I was surprised.
4524270 tn?1355878350 to cut Armour out first and immediately take Cytomel equaling the T3 I was getting from NDT plus the current Cytomel dose, or weaning off Armour and taking only the amount of Cytomel that I have been taking? Or some other option? I would appreciate any knowledgeable opinions.
Avatar n tn My last endo apt on Jan 6, the doctor changed me from 88 mcg Synthroid and 2.5 mcg Cytomel daily to 75 mcg Synthroid and 2.5 mcg twice a day. That would take my Cytomel to 5 mcg total for the day. The levels I posted earlier were on the 88/2.5 regiment. I don't adjust any medication change without issues popping up such as night sweats, dizziness and feeling exhausted but sleep does not help. Not sure why?
