Common Questions and Answers about Cytomel pharmacy

cytomel

Avatar f tn It states on T3 5mcg RF Capsules. I felt better than I had ever had when I first started Cytomel Over a year ago, but within a couple of months I had a lot big heart jumps (wasn't palpitations). So tried armour, but since I am so sensitive, I couldn't regulate, but I didn't have the heart jumps. Now back on Levoxyl for a little over 3 months, depression is back, arm pain (fairly intense at times for the last 2 months which I wrote a separate post).
744962 tn?1270942038 I was on 50 mcg levothyroxin and10 mcg cytomel and I took the cytomel in 2 doses - the first with my levothyroxin first thing in the morning, the second about 10:00. I should tell you that MY "first thing in the morning" is at 3:00 am......... So the second dose of cytomel was approx 7 hrs after the first and that seemed to get me through the day okay.
581310 tn?1253029550 I posted the other day on this site. I was switched from natur-throid to synthroid and also cytomel. I think I am on to high of a dose. He started me out taking .88 of synthroid with 5mcg of cytomel in the morning then .75 of synthroid and 5mcg of cytomel in the afternoon. I don't know why he split the doses. Since taking both these doses for the last couple days I have been nauseous, headache, sweating, dizzy.
Avatar f tn I've been on cytomel since Jan of this year and when I took my last script in to be filled, the pharmacy filled it with the generic Liothyronine - they didn't ask me, they just did it. I still have some of my old script left, so haven't taken any of the generic. I do know that I'm on the generic levothyroxine and doing much better than I did with synthroid.
Avatar n tn My pharmacy uses generic Cytomel made by Sigma Pharma. Googled it a lot of people seem to have complained about it. I have some left from the fall made by Paddock but it won't help me much if my refill will be by Sigma.
Avatar m tn pharmacy, they would probably give you enough to get home on. If not, you can have a local pharmacy contact your pharmacy at home to get the script.
988694 tn?1332359479 Does anybody know a T3 only medicine without fillers? I was added Cytomel and my NT was reduced to 2 grains due to RT3. So far feeling awful, but I am more concern, despite all the pain and discomfort I am in, about Cytomel causing me allergies. My nose is itching and I have been sneezing. I had a similar episode a couple of years ago and I quit it. I cannot do compound pharmacy since I have to travel and it is too much trouble. Any idea about an existent hypoallergenic T3 only medicine?
Avatar f tn t have hyper symptoms? Would there be another reason for the high T3? Is it good judgement to prescribe cytomel with armour thyroid? I am not taking cytomel, but it was recommended by another physician in the past. Would taking iron supplements help absorption of T3. Thank you.
Avatar f tn I thought that the generic cytomel was exactly as the brand cytomel. no difference what so ever. I thought I read this somewhere in these forums???? i am on the generic for 3 weeks now and I really feel no different. the doc gave me 25 mg of cytomel to add to my 75mcg of synthroid. advice from you guys, so I cut my synthroid in half and taking only 6 mcg of cytomel. but I have been taking 1/2 of cytomel in the morning and breaking the other half in two. so yeah that is 25 mg.
197575 tn?1215532624 Another question- do I have to wait to take calcium when taking cytomel only? Also, I haven't been waiting the 30 min to eat- the directions didn't say anything about that.
Avatar m tn Normally a combination of synthyroid and cytomel would be given. If you are taking cytomel, it should also be spread out through the day (ie. multiple dosing) not all at once. I would be rechecking on this or getting a second opinion. Another option considering that your FT3 is low is to switch to 'natural thyroid' whcih contains T3, T4 and other trace hormones. Armor is one, dessicated thyroid (erfa brand from canada), or compounded from pharmacy.
581310 tn?1253029550 I switched from Armour to Synthroid with Cytomel and am doing very well. synthroid alone kept me sick when I was on it before. The addtion of Cytomel with the synthroid is working great! Soooooo you may end up like many others in making the change.
Avatar f tn Did he prescribe Cytomel only? I like the above responders was on Cytomel only prior to RAI. It's T3 and can make you jittery. It's VERY short lived in your body. I now take T3 in conjunction with Levothyroxine - T4 (150mcg Levo & 15mcg cytomel). I have been AROUND THE BLOCK with meds! I'm now back where I started (with T3/T4 ratio changes...) after giving only Synthroid (hated it!) and Levoxyl (the T4 drugs) a whack.
1369218 tn?1282423884 I have been doing Synthroid/Cytomel for about a year now. I do not really feel better. The more Cytomel I take, the more racey my heart feels. I was on 5mcg twice a day and felt like my heart was coming out of my chest. I then lowered back to just 5mcg and now have hypo symptoms again. My last labs were: TSH 1.47 (0.40-4.50) Free T3 2.6 (2.3-4.2) Free T4 1.4 (0.8-1.8) My Free T3 looks awful, pretty much how I feel!
798555 tn?1292787551 Where do you get ERFA from, which Canadian pharmacy and how much is the cost per month approx? Is the conversion about the same as Armour from Synthroid? I am considering this move soon...as I have been sticking it out with Tirosint/Cytomel but it just does not really seem to be working for me sadly.
Avatar n tn My current regime is 75 mcg Levoxl/10 Cytomel 5 x daily: 7 x wkly. My t3 is marginally noted, as I have rt3 dominance. My tsh was at 0.24 within the range of 0.40-4.50 And the t4 at 0.9 range 0.8-1.8 My symptoms, beyond my labs being off, are extreme fatigue, bone pain, difficulty concentrating and weight gain.
428837 tn?1250007204 So, the first hit came last week when I went to pick up my prescription for Cytomel, and I was informed my insurance company no longer covers Cytomel. Bam! It's either 'fess up with $190 or take the generic. I didn't want to do that, but I didn't really have much of a choice, so I took the generic. All was well until Day 7, and I started having some old familiar internal tremor/vibes and my ankles and feel started swelling.
Avatar n tn t converting T4-T3 well, so my MD put me on Cytomel in addition. I was doing well on Cytomel 50mcg and Synthroid 50 mcg for about a year. Lately the heart palpitations came back. They would go away within a half hour after taking an additional Cytomel. My doctor decided I need to take a timed release version of the T3 so I had made with a compounding pharmacy. So far I'm doing OK but I wondered if body can make antibodies against the medications?
Avatar f tn Dr first put me on Synthroid 2 months ago, and then added cytomel 3 weeks ago. I FEEL GREAT!!!!!!! but........ sore, sensitive and itchy nipples on both breasts slightly pinker on the outside not much. I have looked all over the web, cannot find anything but Pagets. Called pharmacy, they said not usual side effect to medicine. Does anyone else have this?? I am worried and I do not want to go off the cytomel, it has helped me tremendously.
