Cytomel nausea

Common Questions and Answers about Cytomel nausea

cytomel

Avatar f tn I was recently put on Cytomel .5 added with my Synthroid 150mcg. I am having nausea in the evening with upset stomach. Could the Cytomel be causing this?
Avatar f tn What is the daily dose of Cytomel? It may be that since the half life of Cytomel is less than a day, you may already be feeling the effects. I assume you started back on the same dose, right? If so, you should get the effect in a few days.
Avatar n tn Hi Everyone, For several years I have been having some strange symptoms after 20yrs on the same dosage of levothyroxine 0.175mcg. Muscle & joint aches (Fibromyalgia), then TSH is 2.7, 1.5,.7. Last Oct. a nodule on the right side of thyroid, US done, 2cm nodule, solid. Dec. had a partial thyroidectomy with a micropapillary carcinoma. TSH 1.7 after surgery, still doing well and feeling much better on levothyroxine 112 & Cytomel 5 mcg. TSH was .7 and now 6.793.
Avatar f tn I have been off my cytomel since 1/9/08 and I am also on the LID! I have episodes of nausea, dizziness, headaches, joint aches, fatigue and dry skin! I have continued working, but some days I have to come home in the afternoon due to dizziness and nausea along with brain fog! I have good days and then I will just crash for no reason! I will keep you updated on how I feel! Some people do fine and don't feel much of anything.
Avatar f tn Yes, I changed the Tirosint and Cytomel at the same time. She lowered the Tirosint in order to increase the Cytomel.
Avatar f tn 2 mg levothroxine but recently my doc. added 25 mcg of cytomel. My T3 levels went extremely high and TSH less then 0.5. I have been extemely ill - headaches, chills, sweats, light head, dizzy, naseau, anxiety. My doc has stopped the cytomel. My questions are: 1. How long does it take for the thryoid levels to return back to where they were. And how long do these symptoms last. 2. Was 25 mcg of cytomel a normal amount to add to 0.2 mg of levothroxine..
822804 tn?1298226302 My doctor prescribed cytomel 25mcg and lowered my synthroid to 125mcg...the cytomel is the generic brand, not sure if this will make a difference. How do you take the cytomel?morning, afternoon, evening and do you take it with food?
92903 tn?1309904711 ll feel all that bad with the Cytomel, though. My biggest complaint was nausea. It was horrible! If I knew then what I know now, I would have called on day one of feeling it to get anti-nausea meds. Instead, I thought I could tough it out and waited about a week and a half. NEVER would I do that again! Good luck!

But I can't go any higher than 5mcg. I take it by splitting it in half through the day, so its 2.5mcg in the morning and then 2.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to have a TT tomorrow 07/06/10 for enlarged goiter and also Graves disease. This is my first surgery and I am terrified!! I know that in the scheme of things this is a pretty routine and "easy" surgery but still I am scared. I just want to know if there is any advice that many of you who have already gone through this can offer. Also, I have already been prescribed synthroid 100 mg and cytomel 5mcg's and was wondering what your experiences were with these drugs..
Avatar n tn If not, why are you on T3-only med (Cytomel)? What were your labs a week ago before going on the Cytomel, and were you on any other meds then?
707563 tn?1626361905 I had a total thyroidectomy 16 yrs ago for metastatic papillary cancer, and struggled for the first several years with symptoms of fatigue, body aches, migraines, nausea, vestibular dizziness. I am a PT and needed to cut my hours. All my doctors just looked at my TSH levels and said I was "fine", or something else had to be causing my fatigue. After a few years a naturopath added some estrogen/progesterone and increased my Synthroid a bit....
1070570 tn?1283436213 I was up to 125 mcg synthroid, then dropped back to 75 synthroid, then switched to 75 generic levo and added 10 mcg cytomel. That was too much cytomel, so dropped back to 5 mcg cytomel and switched to generic; then up to 88 mcg levo, staying with 5 mcg generic cytomel. Am currently on 100 mcg Tirosint and 5 mcg generic cytomel. I take the Tirosint first thing in the morning, per instructions (my day starts 3:30 am). I take my T3 med about 7-7:30 am.
Avatar f tn She told me she was 20 lbs over weights due to being hypo and was only be able to loose few lbs even with teaching many aerobic classes and eating healthy until she heard of Cytomel. She started taking 25mcg of Cytomel 4 yrs ago and noticed the fat melted quickly. She is now at her ideal weight and very fit.
Avatar f tn s fairly rare for somone to be on Cytomel only. Usually a small dose of Cytomel is added to the Synthroid, which may have to be reduced to accomodate the Cytomel. Cytomel (T3) is very fast-acting, so it has to be taken several times throughout the day if taken by itself. This leads to intra-day ups and downs in hormone levels. Do you have the results of your latest lab tests (FT3, FT4 and TSH) and their reference ranges?
765572 tn?1234697366 Can you take just Cytomel? I am on levothyroxine and feeling awful. I heard that this generic of Synthroid is actually not the same as Synthroid and that it is not as good. I heard some people have fabulous results on Armour and Cytomel. Why are Dr's so reluctant to prescribe these other meds? I heard Cytomel really helps with fatigue. All I want to do is sleep, it's awful.
Avatar f tn I thought that the generic cytomel was exactly as the brand cytomel. no difference what so ever. I thought I read this somewhere in these forums???? i am on the generic for 3 weeks now and I really feel no different. the doc gave me 25 mg of cytomel to add to my 75mcg of synthroid. advice from you guys, so I cut my synthroid in half and taking only 6 mcg of cytomel. but I have been taking 1/2 of cytomel in the morning and breaking the other half in two. so yeah that is 25 mg.
1956603 tn?1325036186 My doctor added the Cytomel around Dec 28th, I believe. I took the Tirosint first thing in the am with one 5mcg Cytomel and then took the other 5mcg Cytomel between 1-3 pm. I had been on Tirosint 150 mcg for several months prior to the Cytomel. I'm not sure what the change was between the past two results, but I am glad it happened. This is the best I have felt in years! My doctor would like to lower the Tirosint to 137 mcg but keep the Cytomel the same.
