Common Questions and Answers about Cytomel manufacturer

cytomel

Avatar n tn Just started the Cytomel and synthroid three days ago. This morning I had few red spots on my chest. It could be nothing but has anyone had a skin rash with cytomel before? The insert says it is RARE but how rare? When should I worry? It's hardly anything.
Avatar n tn re on generic or not, but if you are, the fillers might vary from manufacturer to manufacturer. One of the issues with generics is that you can get them at the same pharmacy, but they vary from time to time depending on who the supplier is at that moment. Whether you are on Cytomel or generic, the quickest way to find out might be switching to the other. Also, unlike T4 meds, T3 doesn't have to be taken on an empty stomach.
Avatar n tn hi,I have been on the same generic version of cytomel since July.once i tried another brand and i swear it made me feel ill, like slow walking..anyways we changed pharmasists and the only kind they have is the one i felt made me sick..so im trying it today..would there be any difference.i dont see how just a different manafactuer could make the pill make me feel bad I think Im just scared.
798555 tn?1292787551 00 am - my cytomel and other bp med. Sometime between noon and 4:00 pm (my schedule doesn't always allow me to take them at the same time every day), a dose of calcium, magnesium, selenium, red yeast rice (for cholesterol), vitamin C. Then at bedtime, I repeat the calcium, magnesium, red yeast rice and vitamin C. I get everything I can in capsule form because it seems that I absorb it better that way.
Avatar f tn Does anyone know why Cytomel jumps from a 5 mcg pill to 25 mcgs? I thought that was unusual. I am currently taking this T3 med; a starting doage in addition to T4. I can only hope and pray the T3 addition will lift my symptoms as a lot of you have suggested it may. Looking forward to your answers.
Avatar n tn t answer your specific question about the conversion to synthroid/cytomel, but I have to ask - about a generic for cytomel? According to both my endo and pharmacist, there is no generic for cytomel......
1369218 tn?1282423884 Each drug manufacturer has a customer service number for this reason, listed online. I called Cytomel myself recently when my hair started falling out again when I was switched back to the branded drug from the generic T3. All the best, here's to your good health.
Avatar f tn How is the lack of medication going to affect my heart? Would Synthroid and Cytomel be a good replacement? I do not understand why the manufacturer can not keep up with the production of Armour. They know we need it, so why don't they see to it there's a good supply? The people who supply the raw "material" for this must know this also, so what's their excuse? It's very upsetting.
Avatar f tn The problem comes in when pharmacies buy from different manufacturers. They changed the manufacturer of my T3 med, once and I went downhill in a hurry. I had tell them, which manufacturer I will accept T3 med from, so they flagged my account accordingly. As MichyDevon said, each manufacturer uses different fillers/binders to which you could react adversely. If you find one that you do well on, there shouldn't be any reason not to take it, so long as your doctor is okay with it.
Avatar f tn Ok, my T3 (that's all it said, not free T3 or anything) was over twice the high limit (taking 25mcg the last 6 months) and my synthroid dose was 100. My tsh was0.006 and Im Hashi. My doctor wants to lower my T3 dose. I feel fine. What should I do and does anyone else have this high a t3 after taking cytomel? Actually, I haven't even been taking my full dose for a while now of Cytomel because it's so darn expensive. Help, please...
Avatar f tn Hi, I need some help! Can I come off cytomel cold turnkey without side effects? My primary doctor put me on cytomel for chronic fatique/depression. He started me on 25mcg. I felt better so he increased to 50mcg. I said to him at my last appt that it didn't seem to be working and he said we'd go to 75mcg. He said "we can go to 100mcg and then we'll check your thyroid sometime".
Avatar f tn The main problem with generic levo is that the pharmacy can change which manufacturer they buy their levo from anytime they want to and without notice. Each manufacturer uses different fillers (inactive ingredients), and some of those affect how we absorb the levo. The advantage of being on a brand name, like Synthroid or Levoxyl, is that it comes from the same manufacturer all the time. That solves some of the problem...until the manufacturer decides to reformulate.
Avatar f tn My TSH is very low, however my Free T3 and Free T $ are still on the very low end of normal. I feel like crap, but want to raise my Levoxyl and keep my Cytomel at the dose I'm at. Doc says NO, as A Fib is too real a possibility. I have read that that is mostly a concern with elevated Free T3, Free T4 with suppression therapy. Any thoughts? I currently am on 75 mcg of Levoxyl and 7 mcg of Cytomel. Still feeling yucky. Am planning on a new doctor. I am 57.
Avatar f tn s office - mn gastro just called to say that Target/Triessent cannot supply this med as the manufacturer does not have it. I am terrified - need the procrit to complete last 12 weeks of tx -- can anyone help me out with this?
Avatar n tn If not, why are you on T3-only med (Cytomel)? What were your labs a week ago before going on the Cytomel, and were you on any other meds then?
