Common Questions and Answers about Cytomel ingredients

cytomel

Avatar f tn The inactive ingredients in Cytomel consist of calcium sulfate, gelatin, starch, stearic acid, sucrose and talc. No microcrystalline filler shown. You can get Cytomel, or generic, in 5 mcg tablet. That should be a small enough increment for you to titrate your dosage slowly. With that small amount, why would you need to go to a TR version? Did the hives show up right after you switched?
Avatar m tn I take cytomel 25mcg. A few months ago TSH shot to 42. I raised from 18mcg to 25mcg. TSH went to 5.6, FT3 7.0 ( 2.0-4.4), T4 5.5 (4.5-12.0), RT3 8.6 ( 9.2-24.1), and Antithroglubin Ab 2.2 ( 0.0-0.09) Am I taking too much cytomel? N.P. wants to cut it back an add in T4, which I've never done okay with.
Avatar f tn I think alot of people just take a synthetic thyroid hormone. I'm on levoxyl. Though I don't know if it is vegan. You would have to contact pharmaceutical companies to find out if it's vegan.
Avatar n tn hi,I have been on the same generic version of cytomel since July.once i tried another brand and i swear it made me feel ill, like slow walking..anyways we changed pharmasists and the only kind they have is the one i felt made me sick..so im trying it today..would there be any difference.i dont see how just a different manafactuer could make the pill make me feel bad I think Im just scared.
Avatar m tn d never been on meds prior to my TT last year. My doc started me on a combo of Levo and Cytomel post TT. I was a little jittery on the combo, so I went to Synthroid only to try and convert my own T3... I absolutely hated it. I had joint pain so badly, especially in my hip (where I'd never had pain before), that I had them take me off of it in less than 6 weeks. I won't bore you will all the gorey details, but I'll end by telling you that I'm right back where I started.
Avatar n tn When I was on Synthroid (50 mg) I was very depressed. The doctor added Cytomel, 5 mcg and lowered my Synthroid to 25 mg and I felt great for 2-4 days, but then it was back to being miserable. I then went to a different doctor who is obsessed with T3 and added up to 15 mcg Cytomel which made me feel like I had an electric shock running through my veins. QUESTION #1: Why did I get suicidal depression every morning when I was on the 50 mg Synthroid?
Avatar f tn After being on a higher dose of Cytomel and a lower dose of generic T4 for the last 6 weeks, I was feeling that the Cytomel was too high and the labs confirm it. No palpitations or anything like that, no big rush after taking my dose in the morning.....but I wasn't getting enough sleep and my skin became hideously dry.
Avatar f tn t actively say it but when I was trying to find some explanation for my problems, I found their latest package insert at it listed 2 additional inactive ingredients that were not in the formula change since 2002, and my current package insert still had the old 3 inactive ingredients. So I investigated thinking this was my problem. I finally got someone after months to tell me the real story.
545991 tn?1214437112 s are on the low side of low 236 and is putting me on 100 Synthroid from 137 and 10 mcg of Cytomel my question is because this is a t3 issue is the reason I am not producing Free T3 levels due to RT3 or that I and is my pain going to come back what causes this? my T4 level was .39 and I am a Thyca survivor that just wants to get back to normal.
6555161 tn?1382381862 ve still been only doing the Cytomel in small increments since I was waiting for my dose of T4 to get out of my system a little more (was on alternating of 88 and 100, now just on 88) and my Ft4 was pretty up there, but I think in the coming few days, I'm going to start increasing that. They wanted me to take a full five mcg a day and right now I'm just doing 2.5 (split into two doses) so I think actually moving up to a full 5mcg split twice will help.
Avatar n tn does anyone know if the fillers in generic t3 liothyronine are the same as the fillers in the brand cytomel- i feel much better when i take the t3 but after a week my stomach is so bad i have to quit it.i can't find filler info been searching. i'm trading symptoms for symptoms. trying to hang in but beem depressed- its been so long and so tired of it all. thank you for your suport-and info.
Avatar n tn I decided to make the switch back to Levoxyl when it came back on the market in early February. Synthroid made me feel so anxious and gave me other sides affects. So when it was available and I thought switching back I'd feel better than I do. I did just add the Cytomel in December and I think I can see that my headaches have been worse too. Previously taking Synthroid 75 - 5 days a week and 88 2 days a week. Also split a 5 mcg Cytomel in two doses taking 1/2 in AM and 1/2 at lunch.
168348 tn?1379357075 I buy a lot of generic products, which are made by brand name companies, with the same ingredients. Its the advertising of the "Brand Name" products that is where the high cost comes from. Generics don't carry the "Brand Name" on it nor is it advertised, therefore cost are lower. Nearly everyone can take synthetic levothyroxine. It is identical to the body's own T4 .
Avatar f tn I have Hashimoto and have been on Synthroid for 3 years. It is NOT working. I believe I need an NDT or a T4/T3 compound. I've heard excellent things about WP Thyroid because it has the least amount of inactive ingredients. I've been to 3 doctors....NOBIDY wants to prescribe anything but Synthroid. Anyone have any suggestions????
1369218 tn?1282423884 I have been doing Synthroid/Cytomel for about a year now. I do not really feel better. The more Cytomel I take, the more racey my heart feels. I was on 5mcg twice a day and felt like my heart was coming out of my chest. I then lowered back to just 5mcg and now have hypo symptoms again. My last labs were: TSH 1.47 (0.40-4.50) Free T3 2.6 (2.3-4.2) Free T4 1.4 (0.8-1.8) My Free T3 looks awful, pretty much how I feel!
Avatar f tn My TSH is very low, however my Free T3 and Free T $ are still on the very low end of normal. I feel like crap, but want to raise my Levoxyl and keep my Cytomel at the dose I'm at. Doc says NO, as A Fib is too real a possibility. I have read that that is mostly a concern with elevated Free T3, Free T4 with suppression therapy. Any thoughts? I currently am on 75 mcg of Levoxyl and 7 mcg of Cytomel. Still feeling yucky. Am planning on a new doctor. I am 57.
Avatar f tn t want to have to take them daily as the migraines are so horrible I am in bed all day taking meds for them. What can I do to fix my problem? I have taken Armour thyroid, levo, cytomel, synthroid and the list goes on. I don't think there is a thyroid med I havent tried thus far. If anyone has any suggestions please help me.
874521 tn?1424116797 more 'interesting' reading....for us pet owners..... Disgusting, the FDA(as reported on the site) has determined that 'grocery store' pet food that labels ingredients of 'animal fat and bone meal' content to be likely from that of an EUTHANIZED ANIMAL. Am I reading this correctly???? Are euthanized animals being used as a 'meat' source by pet food company's? http://www.truthaboutpetfood.com/articles/whats-your-opinion-are-these-a-pet-food.
