cytomel

Avatar f tn I am taking 112 mg levo and 10mg of lio Generic cytomel I feel the same as I did before cytomel was added have a hard time going to and staying asleep take lorazepam works great. Feel tired and achey Here are my labs JUNE JULY FREET4 1.27 0.80-1.80 ng/dl T4 11 5.0- 12.5 FT3 3.0 2.3-4.
Avatar f tn The biggest problem I see is that you're very hypo and you need more, not less medication... As you can see, your Free T4 is below range, indicating that you need more T4 medication. In addition, your Free T3 could stand to be higher, not lower. This makes me think your doctor might not be a good thyroid doctor... Most of us feel best with Free T4 at about the mid-range point; you, obviously, have a long way to go to get there.
Avatar n tn My boyfriend has been overdosing on Cytomel for years. He is now trying to lower the dose and having terrible side effects he describes as "head fog." He says he can't focus, can't get work done, etc. He really wants to go back up but I am concerned the higher dose will be bad for his health in other ways. Can anyone offer any advice/help?
Avatar f tn Please review attached image of very recent results. Tell me what you make of it, particularly as relates to the numbers concerning my thyroid. I have been perscribed synthroid 0.05mg and cytomel 25mcg. I should also mention that years ago I was told that my pituitary is enlarged.
Avatar m tn t know what where my last results but my TSH is 3 and ft3 borderline low, I tried TSH of 1 for ffour months with no change, I tried adding cytomel (25 mcg) to the TSH of 3 for one and a half month, with no change ... what shall I do ? I am counting the days for any improvement ..!!!
Avatar f tn You seemed to have isolated the palps to the Cytomel. Why not try to stay off Cytomel and try increasing your Levo again? If take Cytomel once a day maybe try taking it mid day?
Avatar f tn He decided that a good course of action would be to take me off synthroid and put me on Cytomel, 25 mcg for 30 days. I take 1/2 at 6 am and the other 1/2 at 2pm. After 30 days he wants to move me to Armour. I will say I am very excited to try Armour. I just want to feel normal again, whatever that might be. Does anyone have any input on what might be going on with me? Easy to read links? Experience with Cytomel or Armour?
Avatar n tn Sorry, but have to ask more questions. Do you have symptoms of being hyper or hypothyroid? Have you been diagnosed with a thyroid condition? Are you currently on thyroid medication? If so, which one(s) at what dosage(s)? Even though your TSH is within the range given, it's actually high, compared to the new range, which many labs don't use. This and your low FT4 indicate that you are hypo, but your high FT3 indicates hyper........ Have you had adrenal testing done? or Reverse T3?
Avatar n tn If not, why are you on T3-only med (Cytomel)? What were your labs a week ago before going on the Cytomel, and were you on any other meds then?
1070570 tn?1283436213 I was up to 125 mcg synthroid, then dropped back to 75 synthroid, then switched to 75 generic levo and added 10 mcg cytomel. That was too much cytomel, so dropped back to 5 mcg cytomel and switched to generic; then up to 88 mcg levo, staying with 5 mcg generic cytomel. Am currently on 100 mcg Tirosint and 5 mcg generic cytomel. I take the Tirosint first thing in the morning, per instructions (my day starts 3:30 am). I take my T3 med about 7-7:30 am.
Avatar f tn She told me she was 20 lbs over weights due to being hypo and was only be able to loose few lbs even with teaching many aerobic classes and eating healthy until she heard of Cytomel. She started taking 25mcg of Cytomel 4 yrs ago and noticed the fat melted quickly. She is now at her ideal weight and very fit.
Avatar f tn s fairly rare for somone to be on Cytomel only. Usually a small dose of Cytomel is added to the Synthroid, which may have to be reduced to accomodate the Cytomel. Cytomel (T3) is very fast-acting, so it has to be taken several times throughout the day if taken by itself. This leads to intra-day ups and downs in hormone levels. Do you have the results of your latest lab tests (FT3, FT4 and TSH) and their reference ranges?
765572 tn?1234697366 Can you take just Cytomel? I am on levothyroxine and feeling awful. I heard that this generic of Synthroid is actually not the same as Synthroid and that it is not as good. I heard some people have fabulous results on Armour and Cytomel. Why are Dr's so reluctant to prescribe these other meds? I heard Cytomel really helps with fatigue. All I want to do is sleep, it's awful.
Avatar f tn I thought that the generic cytomel was exactly as the brand cytomel. no difference what so ever. I thought I read this somewhere in these forums???? i am on the generic for 3 weeks now and I really feel no different. the doc gave me 25 mg of cytomel to add to my 75mcg of synthroid. advice from you guys, so I cut my synthroid in half and taking only 6 mcg of cytomel. but I have been taking 1/2 of cytomel in the morning and breaking the other half in two. so yeah that is 25 mg.
Avatar f tn I have a good link for you about Reverse T3. Can't post it here, so sending a PM with info.
1956603 tn?1325036186 My doctor added the Cytomel around Dec 28th, I believe. I took the Tirosint first thing in the am with one 5mcg Cytomel and then took the other 5mcg Cytomel between 1-3 pm. I had been on Tirosint 150 mcg for several months prior to the Cytomel. I'm not sure what the change was between the past two results, but I am glad it happened. This is the best I have felt in years! My doctor would like to lower the Tirosint to 137 mcg but keep the Cytomel the same.
407745 tn?1230850087 I am taking Synthroid 100 MCG & Cytomel 5MCG what happens when you have too much T3 ? i have been looking for a new endrcrinologis, the dr.
