Cytomel brain fog

Common Questions and Answers about Cytomel brain fog

cytomel

Avatar f tn Yes, this is what I am actually taking. I even compared photos of the tablets online. And I started them cold turkey. I have felt extremely sleepy, tired and with "brain fog". Would a too high dose do this too?
Avatar n tn So I tried the generic version ( which is only available in my country) of levothyroxine ( eltroxin). On the fist day brain fog and fatigue were lifted but later on brain fog and fatigue became more severe. Anyway I have ordered cytomel and I am waiting for its arrival. I dont know whether synthroid can make you more fatigue . But you can try taking cytomel alone for a while for a change. Its only a suggestion.
327369 tn?1326119908 m on cytomel also -- I find it very helpful in alleviating my symptoms (mainly lifting the fatigue and brain fog). My insurance company switched me from cytomel to generic also, I've been on generic for approx a month and doing well so far. But then I do better on generic levo than I did on synthroid too. I'm currently on only 5 mcg/day - taken about 7:00 am, which is mid morning for me.
Avatar f tn Just started Cytomel 5mcg (split in 2 doses am and pm) because I was having intense brain fog, fatigue, lethargy and weight gain. I'm having palpitations, insomnia, headaches and feel pretty anxious while taking Cytomel. The great thing is that brain fog is gone and I have more energy. Let me know what you think. My doctor is very willing to listen make wise changes. Oh, and I'm pretty physically active, 45 and eat mindfully.
252327 tn?1250183976 He has added cytomel to my synthroid, I am taking 100mcg synthroid plus 5 of cytomel and in two weeks add another 5 of cytomel. I already feel better, no more brain fog, tiredness and seems like the extra weight in the middle is disappearing. I only weigh 125 lbs but already 6 days later I feel much more toned. I was wondering who is taking cytomel with synthroid.??
798555 tn?1292787551 I have been taking levothyroxn (spelling) for 11 years but am still tired all the time, brain fog (a bad thing in company meetings) with worsening muscle soreness, cold hands / feet, carpel tunnel, thinning hair, vitaligo had re-flux too. The docs jack up the prescription every year (was at 175) but my symptoms don't go away. For two weeks I just tried a combo of 112 levothyroxin (t4) with cytomel 5 (t3) in two haves (morning with levothyroxin) and afternoon cytomel only.
Avatar f tn fatigue, extreme coldness, brain fog, hypoglycemia, fast weight gain. I missed a dose the other day and the coldness was unbearable. T3 doesn't seem to help with the fatigue or brain fog so mainly I'm staying on it just to stay warm haha.
Avatar f tn The body aches, very tight muscles, and complete brain fog with no memory have left just in 1 week. Is this something that may be temporary and will go away too?? I've been to a cardiologist and my heart is very healthy. I know I'm dealing with adrenal fatigue as well, so could that be the cause of the heart palps?? Have yet to do a saliva cortisol test, but not sure how accurate it is, considering it will be all out of pocket cost. Just looking for advice and other experiences.
590006 tn?1221271520 I took Cytomel for a year a couple years back. It made me feel better (fatigue and brain fog gone), but I became hyper one year later. My TSH was .419. I thought trying the Cytomel again with a TSH of 1.4 would work with an adjustment to the unithroid. And truthfully I feel lousy at 1.4. I felt better at .669 but when the Cytomel was added I jumped to .419 one year later. Probably just increasing the unithroid (or going back to 125mcg of unithroid would be a healthier solution.
Avatar f tn I have continued working, but some days I have to come home in the afternoon due to dizziness and nausea along with brain fog! I have good days and then I will just crash for no reason! I will keep you updated on how I feel! Some people do fine and don't feel much of anything. I hope you are one of the lucky ones that feels ok during this period!
Avatar f tn s not helping clear my brain fog as I was hoping, but I feel very tired and nauseated and a little warmer after lunch and at night. My cortisol is low in the morning and higher at night, so I don't know if this has something to do with that or if I'm just on too much T3. My FT3 was 4.0 at my last labs, but I still had major hypo symptoms so my doc thought I may need to raise that level a little. I still feel foggy and dizzy like before so it hasn't helped me feel better.
Avatar f tn I have been diagnosed several years ago with Hashimoto's Disease/Hypothyriodism w/goiter. My levels are checked every 3 months or so and levels fairly inconsistant for about a year on 137mcg. Currently I am on 137mcg. Synthroid daily. My May TSH levels was 0.888 and dr. decreased my meds. to 125mcg.
299155 tn?1235489269 ARis right - you should only use it if there is a conversion problem - but a small portion will add it to their patients for Brain fog, fatigue, and very hypo symptoms. I do not know if I agree with these doctors using it - or not agree. I never used it - I switched to Armour in Oct 07 and it was well worth it. I was one of the ones that had a problem with the conversion process. The pub is fun - you really have to have a sense of humor to lock in on some of the conversations.
Avatar m tn I'm 54 and have been taking thyroid medication for years - always hypo. My doctor put me on 50 mcg of cytomel and 50mcg synthroid. Then, recently I had my blood work done and results were TSH .05 and Free T4 -.44. My doctor took me off the cytomel today. He seemed confused with my blood work considering I've always been hypo. Could this indicate too much meds or pituitary glad problem. I seem to have brain fog, extremely tired,(at times- my speech is slurred. And I have osteoporosis.
Avatar f tn Hi. I'm new here and have many questions and concerns. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism and anemia almost 1 month ago & have been taking rx iron 150 2x per day and levothyroxine 50 mcg (not at the same time of course.) Thyroid labs were: TSH - 6.88 Free T4 - 1.3 Free T3 - 2.7 My TSH is obviously above normal, my free T4 is mid-range and my free T3 is low-normal. I think I've been hypo or at least borderline hypo for years.
765572 tn?1234697366 Can you take just Cytomel? I am on levothyroxine and feeling awful. I heard that this generic of Synthroid is actually not the same as Synthroid and that it is not as good. I heard some people have fabulous results on Armour and Cytomel. Why are Dr's so reluctant to prescribe these other meds? I heard Cytomel really helps with fatigue. All I want to do is sleep, it's awful.
Avatar f tn When does it go away? I'm now on my 4th week on 90mg of Armour and still have really bad brain fog. Will it go away when I get to my optimal dose? Can't tell you how many times I'll walk into a room not knowing what I'm there for. Everyday blends into itself so I have no clue what happened on what day. Gotta say, when you think every weekday is Wednesday it's always cool when you find out it's Friday.
320078 tn?1278344720 i just started having brain fog, i was on my way to work, when i stopped at the ATM and could not remeber my pin number. i am sitting at my desk, and i just can't remember it??? i feel like i cant complete a sentence or thought? has this happened to anyone else?
Avatar f tn I have had blood tests come back normal, but I know there is something wrong. I'm awake, but don't feel like I'm awake. I have been experiencing such a weird "brain fog" & I don't know now else to describe it. I have a feeling I could be experiencing perimenopause. My dr put me on a birth control pill that I took for almost two weeks & had to stop taking it bc it affected my legs & I was worried about blood clots.
