Cytomel and diet pills

Common Questions and Answers about Cytomel and diet pills

cytomel

Avatar f tn m on 10 mcg of generic T3 (same as cytomel) and I take a 5 mcg pill in the morning, with my T4 med and another 5 mcg pill around noon. That keeps me going all day.
458072 tn?1291415186 Cytomel is a T3 - the only way this would benefit you would be if your T3 is low and need to get that level up. Low T3 could cause anxiety but you need to know your thyroid blood panel to really see if you need it. Cytomel is not really a med to control anxiety. Xanax is the most given or a generic.
Avatar f tn My doctor told me to half the dosage but I still cannot sleep and am now taking sleeping pills as well. I usually take the cytomel in the morning and I read somewhere that it can help to take it at night, which doesn't make sense to me. Also don't synthroid and cytomel have different hormones? I also find I am feeling much more irritable which I suppose could be the sleep problem but I'm wondering if it is the medication.
764218 tn?1234569759 I'm 20 year old girl, weigh 132 pounds, and i'm 5'6. I exercise (cardio and lifting light weights) about 2-4 times a week, depending on my schedule. I want to weigh 125 pounds and have been thinking about taking diet pills to help because I can't seem to lose more weight. Is it a safe idea? I've heard rumors of girls my age taking diet pills, and later on in life are overweight and can't lose the weight because they ruined their metabolism. Is this true?
Avatar f tn Diet pills won't work by themselves - you will need to eat sensibly and moderate exercise. In addition, most often any weight lost with diet pills usually comes back once you go off them. You will need to make changes that will sustain you over the long haul. Would love to see you take twehner5's advice and check out some of the journals and posts from others who have been successful. And don't let her fool you, twehner5 has done quite well for herself too.

Avatar n tn I am very addicted to phentermine (diet pills). How long does withdrawal take? Can I taper? Must I be hospitalized?
Avatar n tn I am 6 weeks I was taking diet pills for two weeks not knowing I was pregnant will it hurt the baby?
Avatar f tn Just finished 5 weeks entirely off of Synthroid for a WBS two days ago, I got the OK to go back on Synthroid from the radiologist. Still waiting to hear back from the endo on the results of the WBS but am hoping it's good. Guess that depends on the Tg levels and antibodies too. I had a TSH over 200 the last time I was off Synthroid this long. I am pretty hypo again now - sleeping 12+ hours a day, frozen solid, even my balance is really affected.
Avatar f tn Additionally many contain caffeine which over 200mg per day has been suggested to increased rates of miscarrige. While eating healthy and exercising is a great idea, diet pills are not. Beat of luck ttc!
Avatar n tn I have been taking diet pills for at least five years and recently (4 months ago) got on phentermine and redotex from mexico. I just found out today November 10 that I am four months pregnant! I've had no signs of pregnancy, havent had a period for at least eight years, no bump, no sickness, absolutely nothing, but did an ultrasound and found out. What my concern is, is if the baby will be healthy or if the pregnancy should be terminated?
Avatar f tn s not the problem the problem is I just started taking hydrocut diet pills and have took a few. Can that effect the baby, will it have a birth effect or die?

Avatar f tn I am actively trying to lose weight through diet and exercise and feel like I am fighting with a brick wall. Very defeating! I eat certain things or take different supplements, I get extreme reactions. Please advise. . .
Avatar f tn I am 28 yo female, I had my thyroid removed 10 years ago due to non cancerous nodules growing on it. I've been on synthroid since I was 11 yo. Everything was fine until I went off birth control pills. All of a sudden I had a hard time tolerating my 137 mcg dose of synthroid. I switched to armour thyroid, but couldn't tolerate any more than 60 mg. I felt great on just 60 mg, however my TSH shot up from 1 to almost 8.
497224 tn?1209853381 I have never been treated with T3 medication before and am wondering/hoping if this might help me. I have heard good things about cytomel and armour... I just want to feel better! and levothyroxine pills are not doing it. Bottomline here is do you think, based on my results, that I could benefit from T3 being added to my treatment? I want to convince my doc to prescribe it but I don't know how. I have my next appointment in early June. Thanks!
Avatar n tn Is this common or normal--the problem is I am having the symptoms again since starting the cytomel, my hair is breaking off--ALOT and my energy levels are low and I am holding onto fluids---Retaining lots of water, and my labs went down--my syn dose was not adjusted, doc just added cytomel?? and my labs are like this TSH .40, FT3 1.99 and Ft4 is .64??? borderline low even with syn?? What are your thoughts?? I am on a very strict diet--could that be the problem??
Avatar f tn Hi, You'll need to post the reference ranges too. I've gained almost 20 lbs in the last few months, but most all of it in September. I'm now on T4 and T3 (Cytomel 10) for a little over a month and haven't experienced any weight loss. When my TSH was at 63 I had no weight gain - I weighed 122 lbs. In my situation, my T3 has been usually within range (sometimes below) but never in the upper 75% of the range recommended here. So far, Cytomel has helped me feel about 10% better.
