Cymbalta withdrawal hell side effects

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta withdrawal hell side effects

cymbalta

Business woman1 I was removed off of saphris last october, and was put on wellbutrin 150mg and had a TERRIBLE reaction to it. now think I am experiencing side effects that (in my opinion) appear to look like adrenal problems (fatigue, unneccesary anxiety, muscle spasms/twitching, problems walkng, craving sugars etc.
Avatar f tn After seeing my doctor lately, she has decided to take me off my Cymbalta. I've been on it for 3 years with no change in my depression. What I'm wondering about are the withdrawals that I think I've been experiencing. The doctor also has put me on Paxil while weaning me off the Cymbalta. The symptoms I've had are mostly being very shaky; so much so that it's hard to hold a spoon because I'm shaking that badly. Is this normal and will it go away?
Avatar m tn I had been to a holistic doc, a neurologist thinking I had MS. then finally realized my symptoms were side effects from the lyrica, then withdrawal....I'm sure it works fine for some people, but I have always been hyper sensitive to meds....the new ones, especially. I am searching for a drug that will help the fibro, but cymbalta made me super nauseous so I feel stuck. any input would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn I'm curious if anyone has any new information. I too have excessive sweating and do take cymbalta. However, the sweatng didn't start until I stopped cymbalta for a month, and because the side effects of withdrawal were so horrible, I went back on cymbalta. It's been four months I've been back on it and still have the sweats.
530150 tn?1284658880 I have posted about what some of them were and they were nasty... down right evil side effects and withdrawls for me. Not to scare you but they suck, but you can make it if you are ready to be done with the effexor. Like Mr Lucky66 it took me about a month to be back to "normal" again but it has been well worth it. Hang in there.. you can make it.. it is a little tough at times.. but your not the first and wont be the last to end the effexor XR rollercoaster ride!!!!
Avatar f tn Ive been on so many things over the years and they just stop working. Any side effects on the Cymbalta? Pristique didnt work for me at all.
Avatar n tn All the recommended protocols I've found suggest completely tapering off the old drug before starting the new one so you can tell if you're suffering withdrawal side effects or side effects of the new drug. It's very hard to tell if the new drug will work or not if you're feeling strong side effects which might be the old drug and have nothing to do with the new one.
Avatar n tn You and I have much in common. I have been on the medication for 2 1/2 years (for Fibromyalgia, depression and panic disorder). I decided to wean myself off of the medication because of similar side effects (yes, I did see my doctor first, but she was no help at all). After going down 20 mg for two days, I was a basket case.
1168718 tn?1464983535 t have luck with either one. Cymbalta had more side effects for me than Gabapentin. You can try Cymbalta, but the withdrawal is terrible. Be careful !!!
Avatar f tn t know whether you are experiencing side effects from the new med or side effects from withdrawal of the previous med. This is why getting in touch with your psychiatrist is the best option.
Avatar m tn This med can be great for depression. I do hope it works well for you. It is in my experience with it one of the more stimulating meds so if you do have any start up side effects it may be a little trouble sleeping and things like that. They should settle down though, if you even get them. And, this med should not cause any sexual side effects which is a plus. Keep us up to date on how things are going.
757597 tn?1315801812 If you have been taking them and you are not having any noticable side-effects, then you may be one of those who can do so. One has to weigh the side-effects to the quality of life when taking medications. I took Tramadol for 3 yrs. I could not take it with Effexor due to potential seizure activity. I had previously taken it with Cymbalta, but discontinued the Cymbalta after a few days.
Avatar n tn It would be doubtful that cymbalts for a month would cause any probs...ativan however could be..i took cymbalta for 2 months and had bad side effects so I nquit it takes a month or more for the drug to really take eaffect..ativan is very addictive however//a month is not that long to have wds from it but we r all different..so it is probably the ativan//maybe a combo..but if that is all and only for 30 days..it should not take long to feel better...
Avatar n tn Attention anyone taking Cymbalta...PLEASE read about the side effects and the horrible withdrawl symptoms. It turned me into a zoombie then it took over a year to withdraw from. It is worse than anything I have ever experienced in my whole life. I am not going to be a guinea pig for any more of these new drugs, I'll just stick with vicodin.
Avatar f tn I have in the last 4 months tapered myself off the cymbalta and I am suffering from withdrawal symptoms. I have been two weeks totally off this drug . The dizziness and brain zaps are getting better, but my taste buds are still horrible. It feels like the front of my tongue has been burnt and it feels like my teeth are coated with rubber. How long do these withdrawal symptoms last. I can handle it all, but the taste bud sensation is horrible.
Avatar f tn m most worried about experiencing the side effects of withdrawal. Will switching to Cymbalta keep me for going through that?
1258539 tn?1293840202 I have experienced both, and the only way i could get off cymbalta without life altering side effects was to take apart the capsules and slowly diminish the amount inside daily until i was almost taking an empty capsule. As far as depression and anxiety go, I would highly recommend Buspirone for anxiety, it was the only thing that helped me. And for depression, i've got backwards and away from SSRI and SNRI's and got to a tricyclic called Amitriptyline.
Avatar n tn I am currently taking klonopin twice a day which is a miracle for me prescribed from my psychiatrist... Prior to this I was taking cymbalta only for a week and 2 days! I stopped taking the cymbalta due to side effects. I didn't take any on Monday and still haven't. My primary care doctor prescribed the cymbalta to me! I was in the middle of withdrawing from celexa which was a nightmare in itself it's been almost a month I been off of it!
Avatar n tn Stopping Xanax abruptly can cause extreme and potentially dangerous withdrawal symptoms. Stopping Cymbalta abruptly would cause withdrawal symptoms as well although not as much as the Xanax but enough to be of concern. As for health care coverage if you go to your local ER you could be eligible for emergency Medicaid which could then transition into standard Medicaid. If you are working you could be eligible for the Medicaid Buy In for Working People with Disabilities if its in your state.
Avatar m tn Can you? Of course, it's up to you and your psychiatrist. Should you? My own opinion is no. When you're on two drugs at once you can't tell which side effects are withdrawal from the first drug and which are side effects from the new drug. Stopping completely first avoids this problem, and allows your psychiatrist to deal with withdrawal if it occurs. But it is up to you to decide.
Avatar n tn It does a good job for me. There are some unpleasant side effects such as nausea and being light headed upon standing being the worst for me. I tried Neurontin and Lyrica. I couldn't take the side effects from either of those two. I've experienced life without Cymbalta. Without it my pains levels are considerably higher. My mood is much better on it. All in all, it's well worth the unpleasant side effects for me.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken Cymbalta for depression? If so, how long...what were the side effects if any? How long have you been taking it....are you happy with it?
