Cymbalta when to take

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta when to take

cymbalta

Avatar f tn Even after you start adjusting to the med and start seeing some improvements, it may still take a little longer to get to the level of effectiveness you're after. And, if you ever decide to stop taking it, you need to ask your doc for a taper plan, as you should not stop taking it abruptly. Good luck, let us know how it's going! Avatar m tn Effexor is to be taken on a daily basis. Best to decide when you take it and stick to a schedule, especially when you are in the first few weeks. Definitely won't work if you try the 'as needed' method. Not saying it might have some effect. Really don't know. It is not designed to be taken that way. Most people take it in the morning or whenever they start their day.
Avatar n tn Hence you will need to take lower dose of Cymbalta as the drug concentrations are expected to remain high due to slow metabolism. If the dose of Cymbalta is not adjusted well it can result in serious side effects such as orthostatic hypertension or hypertension or tremors or ataxia etc. However, your other doctors are right too. There is no drug interaction between them, and so even if you become pregnant, there is not going to be any additional harm due to drug interaction.
1125419 tn?1259705049 I am currently switching from Cymbalta to Prozac. Was talking 60mg Cymbalta, doctor said to take 30mg for a week, start Prozac 20mg. I am experiencing severe leg cramps. Is that a side effect of coming off the Cymbalta?
723959 tn?1314744225 I know when I went off my rx for my ad I had 3 days of bad anxiety and crazy things going on in my head. Try to stay relaxed, breathe deeply, take a hot bath, anything to keep the anxiety level down till you can get your regular rx.
Avatar f tn SHe told me to keep taking Paxil for just a week which she perscribed me cymbalta for 30 mg for a week with the paxil then she has me on 60 mg of Cymbalta and she told me to stop taking Paxil when i start taking 60mg. So is she weaning me off the Paxil along with the Cymbalta? And is this safe for a week of taking cymbalta 30mg and Paxil 20mg for a week?
Avatar f tn Hi! After my cymbalta wreck, I went back to the doctor (that told me to keep taking it when it was making me nuts) and said basically, I'm off it, put me back on zoloft (which wasn't working great but was at least not working against me) so I can stabilize while we find another option, or I'll find another dr that will! I feel for you, it is a miserable experience. I had the same mania that you had w/prozac many years ago.
Avatar m tn d go even slower getting off the Zoloft before going to Cymbalta to avoid withdrawal -- the protocols usually call for a six week taper just to be safe, and some need longer. So I'd listen to the cautious docs. I know you want to fell better quickly, but you don't want to feel worse and you're quitting the Zoloft very quickly as it is. Good luck.
Avatar f tn gave me tramadol 50MG 4 X daily, but it does not do any thing for pain. What pain meds should I ask for? What vitamins should I take? What foods to eat? What to do when I get the blues? If anybody could help, please let me know your experiences. Sometimes I have to force my self to eat. Would a bottle of Boost be enough to take with Victrelis? What other foods or snacks would be OK? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
906679 tn?1263612612 I would check with your pharmacist to be sure. When I was prescribed Cymbalta I was already taking prescribed Vicodin, which is hydrocodone and acetaminophen (tylenol). I took them together without any side effects and the pharmacist did not warn me of any drug interactions. None of the literature warns to avoid acetaminophen. I assume they are safe to take together. Again always check with your pharmacist before taking and drugs together. They are the experts. Best of luck to you.
Avatar n tn Jenny - I take 120 mgs of Cymbalta (have done so for almost a year) and am considering going back to Prozac (took it years ago). Since your doc is away, I suggest you call his office and ask to see another doctor there. Don't wait till he returns, okay? You are in my thoughts. I also can no longer afford the cost of Cymbalta.
Avatar n tn My doctor has prescribed me to take 30 g of Cymbalta. I am trying to figure out when to start taking it so that the side effects will start on Sat or Sun. I don't have any sick day left. Could anyone share their experience please? Thanks!
Avatar f tn I want to know if anyone has switched safely from Cymbalta to Prozac? I was previously on Prozac for a couple of years and my dr. & I believed that it had stopped being as effective. I changed to Cymbalta with great results. However, I am starting to believe that it is no longer working and am considering changing back to Prozac. Has anyone else had trouble with the drugs effects tapering off like that? And if so, how do I go about safely making the change?
Avatar f tn , and after she found out I drink wine on a regular basis (10 drinks a week) she wants to pull me off of Cymbalta due to the liver implications and the other medication I am on. I do NOT have any liver function problems as my enzymes were tested in the fall when I was on Diltiazam for my BP and my Mitral Valve Prolapse. Now Psych is putting me on Prestique and I hope it works as well and doesn't harm my liver. Does anyone have experience with Pristique?
Avatar m tn I have had a sweating problem for years and been on cymbalta but since raising my cymbalta from 60mg to 120mg's i have had debilitating sweating coming out of my hairline running down my face. The bead of sweat starts on forehead and turns to uncontrollable dripping. Has anyone STOPPED CYMBALTA AND STOPPED SWEATING?
Avatar f tn You have been on the Cymbalta for 2.5 weeks. I do not think you should be worrying about it failing at this point - so I would find a mantra to focus on that avoids worrying about med failure. When I was on anti-anx meds, I used to say "I am on a powerful med which will push me through any obstacles that arise" every time I had a fright. That is just my example. http://pi.lilly.com/us/cymbalta-pi.
Avatar f tn I have been on Cymbalta for 2 years and now take 60mg. I've never felt the symptoms that you describe. I have carpal tunnel also. My carpal tunnel worsened over a period of 2 years, as found on a nerve conduction test. It could be a considence that the symptoms came up around the time you started Cymbalta. I also see a chiropractor that encouraged me to get off of all "medications", but this is consistent with what chiropractors believe.
Avatar n tn Ive been on cymbalta 60 mgs for 4 weeks now and still not feeling great yet im also on clonazapam .5mgs cut in half and take it 2 times a day I went to the doctor and he has added 15 mgs of buspar 2 times a day do you think this will help with the anxiety and will I start to feel a lot better soon.
Avatar n tn my neurologist wants me to compl etely stop the cymbalta and start on 50 mg of zoloft, which i do not want to do because of the horrible cymbalta withdrawal, which i am already experiencing at 30mg.....
Avatar f tn I recently saw another doctor who for once actually listened to me and took time with me which I did like and he did not write me off as someone just seeking medication. I have never been one to take a pill to fix ailments including for a headache. This new dr. Prescribed hydrocodone 7.5mg 3 times a day along with atriptyline 25mg (for sleep) and Lyrica 75mg along with the cymbalta and gabapentin. My question is...is this safe?
Avatar f tn But I really want my life back. I use to take lortabs and used methadone to get off .When I discovered trams it was less euphoric but lasted longer. I realized they didn't even help with pain unless I took 3-4. but I was far happier on them then I ever was on opiates because of the ssri. I totally agree with you about the withdrawal its so much harder to get off trams. About 6 years ago I tried suboxone but lost my insurance and couldn't afford them and went right back to em.
Avatar m tn best way to know what u can and can not take with sub is to ask ur prescribing doctor...cymbalta is a heavy duty AD and i have heard u should taper from it..i was at a low dose for a 90 days or so for fibromyalgia and a clump of my hair fell out...i quit the next day with no problem but i was not at ur dose...ask ur doctor and always be safe..
772020 tn?1434994216 I also take 1mg of Clanozapam in the morning. As of today, I did not take the Cymbalta and am going to go back to the Lexapro tomorrow. Any thought?
Avatar f tn I am new to this site. I was wondering How long this will all take to go away and if I will feel consideraly better after some time? I have been reading everyones posts. I had a very hard time with my tx and Im still feeling really bad. I am a very positive person and usually snap back pretty quick in bad situations.. I chose to do this treatment knowing I would have side effects "During" it because I went through it once before. It was a lot harder this time.
