I have come off of a lot of my medications. My final meds are Wellbutrin, Trazodone and Cymbalta. The Wellbutrin is suppose to take the place of the cymbalta. After horrible withdrawal, I came completely off of Cymbalta last week. I became so depressed that I couldn't stand to talk, much less move. All I wanted to do was sleep and be left alone. When I did interact, I was grizzly mean.
yep, i do believe i have deduced it is the wellobop that is adding this edgy/nervy feeling vs "helping" me. it was given to help with fatigue/energy during the day. i take cymbalta at nite. cymbalta and i get along fairly well at low dose.
sometimes i feel like i'm anxietied out for no reason. not like a MS anxiety or exacerbation anxiety. i think you folks clinched it for me. yep, i'm aksing for something else.
Usually if you have panic attacks, and are irritable, have OCD and are depressed, an SSRI would be better than Wellbutrin (Wellbutrin can make panic attacks, irritability, anger and OCD even worse).
I am convinced I have a dopamine problem, which is why I didn't even CONSIDER an ssri. I went right for wellbutrin since it works on dopamine. Well...
In July 2008 I switched over from Zoloft and Invega to Wellbutrin and Cymbalta. At that time, these were my only medications. In August 08, when I stood up from my chair, my legs had terrible tremors. They were so bad that I had to hold onto the desk. This still happens today. I also experience leg tremors when descending stairs - but not going up. I get minor tremors while going from a standing to a sitting position. My right hand has started to tremor - kind of fast but mild.
I am on 275 effexor and 150 long acting wellbutrin and my starch cravings do me in, So i will research if cymbalta could substitute for the wellbutrin which acts differently that effexor and the cocktail is otherwise acceptable. But if you know somethinghere about cymbalta v. Wellbutrin, I'd love to know.
I would switch gradually to Cymbalta and see what happens rather than being on both. As for the Wellbutrin added to the mix it could help with libido since dopamine is in play. Both Zoloft and Wellbutrin sounds like something you could try before getting on Cymblata. I don't think you shoud mix Cymbalta with Wellbutrin personally.
I also take Wellbutrin 150 daily. Can I try the suggested amino protocol while still on Wellbutrin? I know the Cymbalta falls under the category of SSRI, but am not sure about the Wellbutrin. I am trying to taper off Ultram and need all the help I can get.
Were you on Wellbutrin first and did well on it? Or, were you on Cymbalta first? If you really think Cymbalta is the med causing your anxiety you need to work with your Dr as far as tapering off it. Getting off it can be done. I took it myself and was able to taper with my Drs help until I was completely off it.
m worried that the combination of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin can cause this. Is the combintation of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin safe?

I found this forum while searching for reasons people take Wellbutrin. I took it at first as a booster to cymbalta for OCD anxiety. I've never had depression, but when I get put on an ssri I get so depressed I develop suicidal thoughts, especially on amitriptelene sp?
I have to switch my meds. I have depression and fibromyalgia and am on Cymbalta, but it doesn't seem to be helping me.....my doctor suggested Prozac since it is known to help fatigue better than the other antidepressants (supposedly). Thank you.
I have recently been prescribed Ativan for a social anxiety disorder but I am concerned that this medication will cause me to gain weight and seems to have much more side effects than Wellbutrin, so should I request to be changed to Wellbutrin which does not have as many side effects - mainly causing weight gain.
nt cause me any problems in that area was Cymbalta. Wellbutrin and Cymbalta are in a different classes than the SSRI's so maybe that's why they don't effect the sex drive.
Went to see my Dr. yesterday and i asked her if she could give me something different for my depression. I also told her that i'm trying to come off pain pills. I was taking 15-20 daily. It's been day 8 and i'm down to 8x daily. So she prescribed me Wellbutrin. Does anybody know anything about the medication. I also take Cymbalta and Lamictal and Ambien.
I have been on a combination of Wellbutrin (300 mg XL 1x/day), Cymbalta (30 mg 1x/day) and Geodon (20mg 1x/day). I also take 1500 mg Tyrosine 2x/day that has worked wonders. I have been experiencing a lot of anxiety lately that stays with me all day, and a little depression and irritability. I have been taking .5 mg Ativan as needed and I seem to need it almost every day.

i am thinkin about having my doctor start me on cymbalta or wellbutrin.. i have tried everything else and it didnt work that well for me.. those two are the only ones i know that have norepenephrine.. i dont know if i spelled that right... i was wondering if anyone had any bad reactions or anything good to say about either one.. and if it seem to make a difference with the serotonin and norepenphrine.. compared to just serotonin..
Thank you for the response. I took my Wellbutrin Monday night and then switched Tuesday night to cymbalta. I'm actually starting to feel a little better. Everyday seems to be better than the day before. No more nausea thank goodness. Now it's just a dazed feeling (like medicine head) and no real appetite. And of course the sweating. It's strange b/c I'm sweating one minute then freezing the next. Odd. Oh well, I appreciate the response.

Have suffered with Anxiety and Depression for the last 4 years, in that time I have been on Lexapro,Effexor and Cymbalta. About 8weeks ago Idecided to taper off Cymbalta as have felt that the medication seems to worsen my symptoms as well as making me extremely tired - I could sleep up to 16hrs a day which is not good with 2 young children.
I have been taking cymbalta(60mg) and wellbutrin (200mg) daily for 3 years. I decided I was tired of taking it, it didn't seem to be helping me anymore, and I was tired of the expense. I quit wellbutrin cold turkey about a 5 days ago and I quit cymbalta cold turkey 3 days ago. I now feel like I am losing my mind. I have been feeling and acting somewhat manic. I have felt kind of 'hi' and actually like it.
Sometimes you can avoid this side effect by either taking wellbutrin, a very stimulating antidepressant, or combining wellbutrin with an ssri to counteract this effect. I don't think constipation would lead to the weight gain, but three pounds isn't really much of a gain. We all fluctuate some normally.
About six months ago, having been back on Wellbutrin for a few years, I decided to try Cymbalta again. My psychiatrist thought it would be best to continue the Wellbutrin and see how I did after adding the Cymbalta (from 20 to 40 to 60 mg). Unfortunately, my blood pressure--always normally on the low side--spiked, with readings of 160/110, etc. My doctor prescribed Lisinopril, which caused an allergic reaction (a rash on my chest and forearms).
I have little to no libido. My doctor has me switched over to Wellbutrin due to the low libido side effects. I am on my second week of a very low dose of Wellbutrin (35 mg am, 17 mg afternoon). I have noticed that for several hours after I take it, my lips and face tingle as if they are slightly numb. In addition, my thoughts are slightly jumbled and not clear. Is this normal? How long does it take for the Wellbutrin to kick in?
