If you have GAD, it IS not a good idea to go onto Cymbalta, it may trigger even worse anxiety. There are alot of other drugs with minimal side effects. Lamactil being one(it's actually an anti seizure med) , it's an atypical mood stabilizer which has also helped some like myself with anixety at higher doses.
Don't be freaked out my the scary side effect of the rash, it only happens 8/100 000, as well if you slowly increase the dose, that pretty much elimenates that chances.
The Wellbutrin is suppose to take the place of the cymbalta. After horrible withdrawal, I came completely off of Cymbalta last week. I became so depressed that I couldn't stand to talk, much less move. All I wanted to do was sleep and be left alone. When I did interact, I was grizzly mean. I started back on the Cymbalta yesterday, b/c my depression was overwhelming and my meaness was clearly taking a toll on my husband and 4 year old.
Cymbalta actually worked for me after I had a major back surgery...i had alot of nerve damage in my sciatic and the cymbalta helped me while they were doing procedures to ease the nerve pain such as epidurals and rfas...however getting off of it was not the easiest thing I ever had to do...my dr lowered the dose and got me off of it safely but I was still going through some moderate withdrawals like shaking and nausea but they only lasted a few weeks and I was fine afterward...
After stopping serzone for anxiety, my husband had a reaction of severe insomnia after trying Lexapro for 3 days. His doctor suggested bipolar and put him on Zyprexa but is weaning him down gradually. He's on 7.5 mg currently. What side effects can we expect if he doesn't really have bipolar (which is our opinion) from this medication? We know the most common ones, but what if he is not truly bipolar? I can't wait for him to get off of it, but he is sleeping soundly again.

I never did see any difference from using it vs Cymbalta. I had tried it since I did not really notice anything while using Cymbalta. I could up the dose I guess however, the cost of all the meds I take are just to great to go higher. As is I split the dose to make it last longer. No side affects though. I swear by Tramadol 200 slow release and Lyrica. Without those two I would be a complete mess.

with no deppression i am now feeling deppressed and i think it is from a melatonine/5-htp combo, i know it is a seratonine uptake drug but i was on Serzone for 17 days and it made me extremely suicidal so could 5-htp be the cause?
I just picked up my prescription for Cymbalta and attached to the package was a Medication Guide stateing that "Antidepressant Medicines, Depression and other Serious Mental Illnesses, and Suicidal Thoughts or Actions"
This was in bold type at the very top was MY name ect. So...... I read it again and realize that I must be labled as Mentaly Ill, which bothers me somehow!! Just don't set well with me. I must be a bit touchey this eve. I think perhaps I will talk to my Dr.
s great....good to here Lyrica is working. My dr tried cymbalta (i guess its also an anti-depressant?) but it did nothing for the nerve & muscle-skeletal issues i have. Didnt make me happier either. :) But i was already happy...vs now. Day 10 & i keep on keeping on.
Good luck with the taper & keep us informed.
t really want to take more Lyrica because of side effects, so is there an alternative, or do I just have to weigh the side effects vs relief and deal with this?
