cymbalta vs savella

I never did see any difference from using it vs Cymbalta. I had tried it since I did not really notice anything while using Cymbalta. I could up the dose I guess however, the cost of all the meds I take are just to great to go higher. As is I split the dose to make it last longer. No side affects though. I swear by Tramadol 200 slow release and Lyrica. Without those two I would be a complete mess.

ve tried both Cymbalta and Savella for my fibro - Cymbalta did nothing for my pain at all - Savella made me HORRENDOUSLY jumpy, irritable, heart racing, loose stools, etc. I will NEVER touch it again. I've heard of it helping some people, but I've heard more negative reports on it than the good. Mine was definitely one of the negative experiences.

I tried cymbalta up to 120mg which did not work and now savella. In just 24 hrs, savella has totally messed me up. I am extremely depressed and angry, alot of pain and nausea. The depression and anger is my biggest concern. Has anyone else experienced this in just a 24 hour period? I took the savella in the morning and literally felt the difference in me throughout the day. I never felt this way in the 2.5 yrs before getting diagnosed. This is horrible and very scary.

Because if you are weaning down off of the Cymbalta and beginning the Savella, this might make more sense? To pull you off your Cymbalta abruptly might shock your system.

making me feel worse and ache more....I need something without that side effect....have been on Cymbalta too ....will savella take the place of both?

Has anyone taken Savella? My neurologist had me on 60mg of Cymbalta twice a day. In only a few months time I gained 40 lb! My pain doctor suggested I back off the cymbalta and take Savella. I would like to hear what others have to say about it first.

May I ask whay your reaction was to taking Cymbalta and Savella together was? You can send me a private message if you don't want to post it. I was trying to go off of Cymbalta and onto Savella and my best description of it was "a living hell." I ended up at the doctors office telling her that my brain was broken. Wondering if your experience was similar.

I am new to fibro was put on cymbalta three months ago only made me sleepy no pain releif changed to savella 5 days ago 2 days ago started having funny feeling in head heart palpitations when i move fast feel weird crying spells vision blurry headache dizzy but pain is better dont know if its from drug withdraw from cymbalta or reaction to savella never been a sick person i am so blessed now i dont know weather to keep trying savella or stay off everything i was always very active now pain is s

I'm wondering if anyone has heard (or ever used) a drug called Savella. I'm looking for non-narcotic treatments for pain and a nurse friend mentioned it to me. I looked it up and found there can be some withdrawal from it but according to what I read, if you taper off, it's fine. Becoming dependent on oxycodone has left me worried about trying anything that says you need to taper off it, even if it's not a narcotic.

I've been on Savella Titration pack for 6 days. I've noticed I'm pretty bad mood swings, from flat being mean, to drama to crying and back again. I know the package says this is a possible side effect. my question is this, is this something that gets better the longer you take it? Or should I consult my doctor about stopping it?

You may be able to handle the Prozac since it only affects the serotonin, or something similar to it (a SSRI) if you have trouble with the SNRIs like Cymbalta, Savella or Effexor. I would talk to your doctor and see what he/she thinks. Good luck.

Just started Savella today..am anxious. Anyone love Savella ? Did it help u? I hope so.

I took Savella for two weeks and had to quit taking it. I felt like I was going to die! My pain got worse (and I thought it was already bad), the top of my head felt like it was going to explode, I broke out in awful sweats, felt spacey and like I was going to pass out, and the WORSE side effect was the nausea. I took it without food and threw up, so I started taking it with food and still threw up. I then decided to take it and lie down for a while.

My doctor changed me to Savella a couple months ago and increased it slowly will I was decreasing my cymbalta. Now I am on Savella, lexapro, and lyrica. I take 5000UNT of vitamin D3 every day as well. I take adavan at night to help calm and relax me so I can sleep. I feel much better overall but my med changes are still new; I do have a better sense of well being. "Flare Up's" have occurred less so I am happy thus far but I haven't lost any weight.

Has anyone with pre existing hypertension & fibro tried savella? If so, has your bp spiked at all? I'm afraid to try it for that reason. I took Pristiq for about 4 weeks and my blood pressure which was well under control went out of control, so I had to get off the medicine. I know it works in the same ways, and I know everyone is different, I'm just checking. I previously tried Lyrica & Cymbalta, which both made me feel worse than I did with the Fibro and Fatigue.

Thinking about discussing this med with my MD but was wondering the pros and cons from a personal experience? I have tried Cymbalta (recently tapered off) but did not feel any different on it. Thanks for any info, I appreciate it!!!

My neurologist said he would not do test after I told him also dizzy and forgetting things. He said it was stress. Also, my "pcp" is treating me for fibromyalgia as far as my legs go. Had tried Cymbalta now on Savella.

I have tried celebrex, Lyrica, Cymbalta and Savella and none of these provide me with any relief. The only thing that helps is Oxycontin, but drs. are relunctant to prescribe on an ongoing basis. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.

Has anybody ever tried cymbalta or savella and does it help ,quickly sigh....I have been on 3ml of ativan a day for 3 years (too long) in hopes that I would be able to find a SSRI to help so I could wean off as it doesnt do much anymore and makes me cold brrr....With fibro it makes one more sensitive to meds and I find the SSRI's make my fibro worse.

I was on Gabapentin but when I started seeing pink dots gured my dose was too high and wanted off. I have been on just @ ALL meds youmentioned. I am now OFF cymbalta, Savella... I take Lryica , just started, oxycodone,fentinol patch for I guess so far this is ok, sadly some things were "misplaced" so suffering totally the past few days.Pain Doc Monday. Good luck! I have sever depression, anxiety, and fibro. I am currently on Savella, which seems to have worked somewhat well for fibro and depression. Unfortunately, what I cant control is the anxiety. I cant work. The PA Ive been seeing for the last 18 years wont even give me ten xanax a month, so I can rarely go out. I dont know if increasing the Savella will help calm the anxiety or not?

When I take Savella and Pristiq together, it works wonders. When both my pain dr and my psychiatrist got together and said I couldn't take them together, I became very depressed after getting off of Savella. I didn't want to kill myself, but I sure didn't want to live. Lyrica put me to sleep in horrible ways, Cymbalta doesn't work for me and anything like Prozac or Lexapro or Zoloft is candy to me. I also take Norco.

s I have tried to help my conditions make my fibromyalgia etc..worse. I was excited about cymbalta but could not tolerate the side effects of this med although it was working on my fibro pain, anxiety etc....I also felt allergic to it, red eyes, rash,etc.. So now my shrink and rheumy are suggesting the new med Savella, to start at a very low dose which is 12.5 according to the titration pack.

i ve been on many AD prozac paxil zoloft effexor cymbalta and savella none of them worked so my pdoc put me on seroquel 600 mg and lexapro 20 mg and wellbutrin 450 mg i started feeling a little better .......but when should i feel the full effects?

I was watching Mad Money last night and learned that a new drug for fibro called Savella has been approved and should be available by March. It's an SSRI type of med and (oh happy day!!!) weight gain was not listed as a side effect.

I have had it for over 16 yrs now ! ( unfortunately) But I have been reading everyones post and saw a few on Savella..and I must say what I have read from the most of you on it....I am excited...and hopeful for once in a long time !!! ( cheers ) My pain gets sooo bad that I honestly get sick to my stomach from it. I take 10mg of Vicodin ( hydrocodone? ) 3x a day and Lyrica 75mg 2x a day..for the pain...but it barely takes the edge of it! I also have the sleep problem..

So this is my second time trying Cymbalta. I was on it about 6 months ago and didn't think it did much for my pain. I have fibromyalgia. My PMD then had me try Savella which I did not do well on, so back to Cymbalta. Now I have realized that it does help with my anxiety but I really think I crave alcohol when I am on it. I am not a big drinker, but last time I was on it I started to crave it. When I went off of the Cymbalta the craving went away.
