Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta side effects sleep

cymbalta

Avatar m tn This med can be great for depression. I do hope it works well for you. It is in my experience with it one of the more stimulating meds so if you do have any start up side effects it may be a little trouble sleeping and things like that. They should settle down though, if you even get them. And, this med should not cause any sexual side effects which is a plus. Keep us up to date on how things are going.
Avatar m tn s going to be effective or not. Unfortunately, the side effects start before the effects.
Avatar n tn Attention anyone taking Cymbalta...PLEASE read about the side effects and the horrible withdrawl symptoms. It turned me into a zoombie then it took over a year to withdraw from. It is worse than anything I have ever experienced in my whole life. I am not going to be a guinea pig for any more of these new drugs, I'll just stick with vicodin.
Avatar f tn After seeing my doctor lately, she has decided to take me off my Cymbalta. I've been on it for 3 years with no change in my depression. What I'm wondering about are the withdrawals that I think I've been experiencing. The doctor also has put me on Paxil while weaning me off the Cymbalta. The symptoms I've had are mostly being very shaky; so much so that it's hard to hold a spoon because I'm shaking that badly. Is this normal and will it go away?
Business woman1 I was removed off of saphris last october, and was put on wellbutrin 150mg and had a TERRIBLE reaction to it. now think I am experiencing side effects that (in my opinion) appear to look like adrenal problems (fatigue, unneccesary anxiety, muscle spasms/twitching, problems walkng, craving sugars etc.
906679 tn?1263612612 Pleas go anline and read about all the side effects and weaning off of Cymbalta. I and others have had serious complication because of taking this drug. It is very difficult to wean off and has left some with permanent side effects. Good luck. I took vicodin with cymbalta and now I only take vicodin. It took me months of agony to get off Cymbalta. Please do the research.
Avatar f tn All the side effects I listed are reportedly more common side effects of Cymbalta. Sounds like you are having a rough time of it! See PM.

And my mother does not want to leave this medication because its the only one that works for her burning feet. Has anybody else expirence hair loss with Lydrica? She also takes Cymbalta 60mg,lyrica 75mg, Nexuim 40mg, and Tramabol 50mg. What do you all suggest she get tested for ?
407790 tn?1397761026 My doctor just put me on Abilify, which I'm not very happy about considering the side effects. However, I have treatment-resistant depression so I'm running out of options. I will be taking a very low dose, though: 2.5 mg. Does anyone know if you're less likely to get side effects if you're on a low dose? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Avatar f tn If you did have ADHD the Cymbalta probably would have helped with those symptoms, lol. I didn't have this when I took Cymbalta, but did with Effexor. Unfortunately, these medications are not without side-effects and CNS hyper-arousal is one of them (in some people). It's good that you discontinued it. Maybe something like Neurontin would be more helpful, with less side-effects. Take care.
5082295 tn?1371250911 Typical start up side effects of Cymbalta would be an increase in anxiety (feeling jittery), insomnia or drowsiness, GI disturbances (lack of appetite, nausea, diarrhea), headache. Typically, start up side effects will start to improve about 2-3 weeks in. Just give it some time. You can probably take it at night, it may help how you feel, at least during the day. Ask your doctor. Hang in there dear!
Avatar n tn Lexapro gave me gastroinstestinal side effects. While as Cymbalta now seems to give me sleep troubles/insomnia. However, sometimes the medication outweighs the side effects. Cymbalta allows me to get through a day without anxiety, I rarely have to take my clonozapems. Ask your psychiatrist the next time you visit them, they will have a better idea of what route to go.
Avatar f tn i am on cymbalta...no side effects until my doctor upped my dose, but just extreme tiredness, so i lowered my dose back to 60 mgs....usually the brain zaps are when you suddenly stop taking it, any antidepressant can cause this when abruptly stopped....but everyone is different. are you experiencing any side effects from it now?

387767 tn?1345872027 Hi, I am posting this for my 21 yr. old son. He is in college and he had extreme anxiety and depression and was put on Cymbalta. He's been taking it for about a month. He complains to me that he yawns constantly, is really drowsy, almost to the point where he falls asleep at random times and it's upsetting him. However, his anxiety and depression are much better. I looked up the side effects of Cymbalta and these are not very common ones, so I don't know what to tell him.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken Cymbalta for depression? If so, how long...what were the side effects if any? How long have you been taking it....are you happy with it?
Avatar f tn Two of the more common side effects of Cymbalta are insomnia and fatigue. Many of the common side effects of medications go away when our body has adjusted to the medication. How long have you been taking it? It can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks for the Cymbalta to work, so if you've been on it less than that amount of time, I would stick it out and see if the exhaustion goes away. If it doesn't, then obviously you need to see your doctor to discuss this.
Avatar n tn You can also use the search option of the site at the top of the page to look up cymbalta side effects. Sometimes starting a new medication can take alot out of you with all the side effects that occur.
1347115 tn?1277029690 ) But it very hard to get out of bed everyday feeling like garbage. If you can force yourself to get up for a little while. I get up because I tell myself I have to feed my bunnies then once I get moving it helps. If I get up and just sit around it doesn't seem to help. Now I am working on making myself walk regularly. Hope this helps if nothing else I can empathize with your situation.
Avatar f tn Take it easy and try to get some rest, give yourself some down time if possible I find it fantastic (except for sexual side effects/though not as bad as Effexor) I mean mood wise, it makes me completely together. It just suits me down to the ground. I have energy, sleep well, feel joy. I am really enjoying my life. It started working in 10 days and after 6 weeks I felt fine. My psychiatrist here in Vienna Austria swears by it, she said she has seen great results with it.
