Avatar f tn After seeing my doctor lately, she has decided to take me off my Cymbalta. I've been on it for 3 years with no change in my depression. What I'm wondering about are the withdrawals that I think I've been experiencing. The doctor also has put me on Paxil while weaning me off the Cymbalta. The symptoms I've had are mostly being very shaky; so much so that it's hard to hold a spoon because I'm shaking that badly. Is this normal and will it go away?
Business woman1 I was removed off of saphris last october, and was put on wellbutrin 150mg and had a TERRIBLE reaction to it. now think I am experiencing side effects that (in my opinion) appear to look like adrenal problems (fatigue, unneccesary anxiety, muscle spasms/twitching, problems walkng, craving sugars etc.
Avatar m tn I doubt that this is from the Cymbalta, and it may be that you don't even need the Cymbalta. Something is out of whack with your thyroid or something else in your endocrine system, which can also cause depression. I would make an appt. to see an Endocrinologist ASAP. Let us know what you find out and take care.
Avatar m tn t want any side effects (especially sexual side effects)...but my depression was too much. I seem to be a bit happier on 60 mg. but the anxiety is still there. I've been experiencing anxiety for many many years though so I have found ways to help me cope like deep breathing, meditating, and other relaxation techniques which sometimes work...I also deal with the dreadful feeling of anxiety a lot and use the Xanax I have as if it were gold....
1286779 tn?1400012806 She went to a doctor yesterday about her hair and the doctor told her that it was because of this medication (Lydrica) But I have seen all side effects and none talk about hair lost. And my mother does not want to leave this medication because its the only one that works for her burning feet. Has anybody else expirence hair loss with Lydrica? She also takes Cymbalta 60mg,lyrica 75mg, Nexuim 40mg, and Tramabol 50mg. What do you all suggest she get tested for ?
407790 tn?1397761026 My doctor just put me on Abilify, which I'm not very happy about considering the side effects. However, I have treatment-resistant depression so I'm running out of options. I will be taking a very low dose, though: 2.5 mg. Does anyone know if you're less likely to get side effects if you're on a low dose? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Avatar f tn However I had relatives who were on cymbalta, they experience side effects, both good and bad, including fainting. So If you are experience effects from it, work with your doctor on titrating down the dosage just to be safe.
Avatar n tn Attention anyone taking Cymbalta...PLEASE read about the side effects and the horrible withdrawl symptoms. It turned me into a zoombie then it took over a year to withdraw from. It is worse than anything I have ever experienced in my whole life. I am not going to be a guinea pig for any more of these new drugs, I'll just stick with vicodin.
924711 tn?1290266557 You will rarely find liver damage from the drug listed even in the rare side effects section of the label. You will find references to liver damage by a drug in professional papers but you'll need to dig. Good luck on your search.
Avatar m tn Cymbalta is in the snri class of meds. These have been associated with liver disease, so if he has any problems with the liver I'd consider this. It has been approved for chronic pain, but it doesn't do anything about the cause of the pain, it just makes the patient not care as much. This class of meds targets ot only serotonin receptors but also norepinephrine receptors, so if he is an anxiety sufferer this drug can make it worse. This class of drugs is very hard to stop taking.
Avatar m tn I have recently been prescribed Ativan for a social anxiety disorder but I am concerned that this medication will cause me to gain weight and seems to have much more side effects than Wellbutrin, so should I request to be changed to Wellbutrin which does not have as many side effects - mainly causing weight gain.

Avatar m tn I was prescribed paxil and ativan originally. I tried the paxil for one day and did not like the side effects it was giving me. So I went to counseling to try and get over this without taking medications. Well a couple of weekends ago I had a really bad weekend. I went to my doctor because I was having abdominal pains and was thinking it was something serious (which is what my anxiety problem is: health concerns).
387767 tn?1345872027 Hi, I am posting this for my 21 yr. old son. He is in college and he had extreme anxiety and depression and was put on Cymbalta. He's been taking it for about a month. He complains to me that he yawns constantly, is really drowsy, almost to the point where he falls asleep at random times and it's upsetting him. However, his anxiety and depression are much better. I looked up the side effects of Cymbalta and these are not very common ones, so I don't know what to tell him.
Avatar f tn Two of the more common side effects of Cymbalta are insomnia and fatigue. Many of the common side effects of medications go away when our body has adjusted to the medication. How long have you been taking it? It can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks for the Cymbalta to work, so if you've been on it less than that amount of time, I would stick it out and see if the exhaustion goes away. If it doesn't, then obviously you need to see your doctor to discuss this.
Avatar n tn You can also use the search option of the site at the top of the page to look up cymbalta side effects. Any threads made about Cymbalta side effects will come up and you may be able to find some good info. I hope the cymbalta really helps support your pain management and the side effects disapate sooner rather than later. Sometimes starting a new medication can take alot out of you with all the side effects that occur.
Avatar n tn ve learned over the years that side effects are different for everyone and not to judge a medication based on that. Possible side effects doesn't mean one will get all of them (which is what I tended to focus on). While being on Cymbalta, the one side effect I've noticed is insomnia. For the first little while I had nausea but that's gone away. Other than that, my appetite has increased and I'm eating a bit more.
Avatar m tn My first thought is severe side effects from the cymbalta. What is the relation between when these symptoms started up and when the cymbalta was started? Or it could be with the use of any other drugs even OTC especially for cold, coughs or allergies. Cymbalta has a bad enough side effects list but depending on what else you take it could effect that or even caffeine and a lot more things have caffeine in them than you think.
