739988 tn?1386672969 Anyway, I was sitting at my computer and glanced over and saw those information sheets the pharmacy gives you so I started reading the side effects portion of them. Well, for the Cymbalta, I saw that they can cause severe and persistent headaches. My question is, has anyone ever experienced this? Also, I've been on Cymbalta for a long while, could the side effect manisfest itself now?
Avatar f tn All the side effects I listed are reportedly more common side effects of Cymbalta. Sounds like you are having a rough time of it! See PM.
Avatar n tn Cymbalta can have many side effects as with all medications. Have you read the pamphlet that came with your prescription from the pharamcy? It's always a good idea to read the information the pharmacy includes with the medication so you are aware of what side effects are possible and what side effects may be something you need to contact your prescriber about. But yes, Headaches can be a side effect of beginning the medication.
Avatar m tn This is not a complete list of side effects and others may occur. Call your doctor for medical advice about side effects. You may report side effects to FDA at 1-800-FDA-1088. http://www.drugs.com/cymbalta.html Let us know what the doc says!
Avatar f tn After seeing my doctor lately, she has decided to take me off my Cymbalta. I've been on it for 3 years with no change in my depression. What I'm wondering about are the withdrawals that I think I've been experiencing. The doctor also has put me on Paxil while weaning me off the Cymbalta. The symptoms I've had are mostly being very shaky; so much so that it's hard to hold a spoon because I'm shaking that badly. Is this normal and will it go away?
5082295 tn?1371250911 Typical start up side effects of Cymbalta would be an increase in anxiety (feeling jittery), insomnia or drowsiness, GI disturbances (lack of appetite, nausea, diarrhea), headache. Typically, start up side effects will start to improve about 2-3 weeks in. Just give it some time. You can probably take it at night, it may help how you feel, at least during the day. Ask your doctor. Hang in there dear!

And my mother does not want to leave this medication because its the only one that works for her burning feet. Has anybody else expirence hair loss with Lydrica? She also takes Cymbalta 60mg,lyrica 75mg, Nexuim 40mg, and Tramabol 50mg. What do you all suggest she get tested for ?
407790 tn?1397761026 My doctor just put me on Abilify, which I'm not very happy about considering the side effects. However, I have treatment-resistant depression so I'm running out of options. I will be taking a very low dose, though: 2.5 mg. Does anyone know if you're less likely to get side effects if you're on a low dose? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Avatar n tn Attention anyone taking Cymbalta...PLEASE read about the side effects and the horrible withdrawl symptoms. It turned me into a zoombie then it took over a year to withdraw from. It is worse than anything I have ever experienced in my whole life. I am not going to be a guinea pig for any more of these new drugs, I'll just stick with vicodin.
Avatar f tn re tolerating it well so far. If you were going to have any hugely severe side effects, you would have by now, so that's good news. Cymbalta is a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Cymbalta works to increase both serotonin and norepinephrine to treat depression and/or anxiety.
Avatar f tn If you have tried zoloft a few times without success then you should tell your doctor and he can try another medication that may not have the side effects you experience. Many medications have side effects which seem bad in the beginning but subside in time. Sometimes it's better to start on small doses and build up more gradually. Hopefully you are seeing a psychiatrist for medication management as they are the best equipped in dealing with these medications.
Avatar f tn i am on cymbalta...no side effects until my doctor upped my dose, but just extreme tiredness, so i lowered my dose back to 60 mgs....usually the brain zaps are when you suddenly stop taking it, any antidepressant can cause this when abruptly stopped....but everyone is different. are you experiencing any side effects from it now?

1348086 tn?1370783185 Neither Klonopin nor clorazepate are intended to be dosed PRN! (As needed) Both these medications need to be taken in divided daily doses to reach, and then maintain, therapeutic levels in the bloodstream. Taking them "as needed" will do nothing. They both have side effects that you experienced which normally go away once a steady state has been reached. You never took them correctly, which is your doctors fault, so your body never had a chance to adjust to the side effects.
1323747 tn?1364806882 Hi there. Side effects of metanx are drowsiness, feeling of swelling of entire body, numbness or tingling, severe allergic reactions like hives. cymbalta or duloxetine has effects like nausea, upper stomach pain, loss of appetite, jaundice. You may feel like you will pass out, hallucinations, tachycardia or tremors. Breathing problems, loss of coordination, difficult urination etc few effects can be attributed to these drugs.
Avatar f tn the side effects of withdrawal for me were shaking, headache, total and complete brain fog, depression, dizziness..just felt totally spaced out and disconnected. the overall effect kept me housebound for days. I was afraid to drive---I was a mess. it took a week or more to normalize. i have heard the possibility of seizures so I was afraid.
Avatar n tn I am currently taking klonopin twice a day which is a miracle for me prescribed from my psychiatrist... Prior to this I was taking cymbalta only for a week and 2 days! I stopped taking the cymbalta due to side effects. I didn't take any on Monday and still haven't. My primary care doctor prescribed the cymbalta to me! I was in the middle of withdrawing from celexa which was a nightmare in itself it's been almost a month I been off of it!
387767 tn?1345872027 Hi, I am posting this for my 21 yr. old son. He is in college and he had extreme anxiety and depression and was put on Cymbalta. He's been taking it for about a month. He complains to me that he yawns constantly, is really drowsy, almost to the point where he falls asleep at random times and it's upsetting him. However, his anxiety and depression are much better. I looked up the side effects of Cymbalta and these are not very common ones, so I don't know what to tell him.
Avatar f tn Two of the more common side effects of Cymbalta are insomnia and fatigue. Many of the common side effects of medications go away when our body has adjusted to the medication. How long have you been taking it? It can take anywhere from 1-4 weeks for the Cymbalta to work, so if you've been on it less than that amount of time, I would stick it out and see if the exhaustion goes away. If it doesn't, then obviously you need to see your doctor to discuss this.
Avatar n tn ve learned over the years that side effects are different for everyone and not to judge a medication based on that. Possible side effects doesn't mean one will get all of them (which is what I tended to focus on). While being on Cymbalta, the one side effect I've noticed is insomnia. For the first little while I had nausea but that's gone away. Other than that, my appetite has increased and I'm eating a bit more.
