5082295 tn?1371250911 Typical start up side effects of Cymbalta would be an increase in anxiety (feeling jittery), insomnia or drowsiness, GI disturbances (lack of appetite, nausea, diarrhea), headache. Typically, start up side effects will start to improve about 2-3 weeks in. Just give it some time. You can probably take it at night, it may help how you feel, at least during the day. Ask your doctor. Hang in there dear!

Avatar f tn After seeing my doctor lately, she has decided to take me off my Cymbalta. I've been on it for 3 years with no change in my depression. What I'm wondering about are the withdrawals that I think I've been experiencing. The doctor also has put me on Paxil while weaning me off the Cymbalta. The symptoms I've had are mostly being very shaky; so much so that it's hard to hold a spoon because I'm shaking that badly. Is this normal and will it go away?
Business woman1 I was removed off of saphris last october, and was put on wellbutrin 150mg and had a TERRIBLE reaction to it. now think I am experiencing side effects that (in my opinion) appear to look like adrenal problems (fatigue, unneccesary anxiety, muscle spasms/twitching, problems walkng, craving sugars etc.
Avatar n tn I have been prescribed Acebutolol for PVC's and I am literally exhausted since beginning this medication but I didn't see that as one of the side effects. Also, my vision is blurred. Is this normal?
1286779 tn?1400012806 She went to a doctor yesterday about her hair and the doctor told her that it was because of this medication (Lydrica) But I have seen all side effects and none talk about hair lost. And my mother does not want to leave this medication because its the only one that works for her burning feet. Has anybody else expirence hair loss with Lydrica? She also takes Cymbalta 60mg,lyrica 75mg, Nexuim 40mg, and Tramabol 50mg. What do you all suggest she get tested for ?
407790 tn?1397761026 My doctor just put me on Abilify, which I'm not very happy about considering the side effects. However, I have treatment-resistant depression so I'm running out of options. I will be taking a very low dose, though: 2.5 mg. Does anyone know if you're less likely to get side effects if you're on a low dose? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.
Avatar n tn For myself I found Lamictal had less side effects and was more tolerable but every person reacts differently. The first priority is for her to be stable so its best to let her take what she is prescribed. Then as she stabilizes you can speak to the psychiatrist about other options. A good website for all mood disorders is "Depression Central". You can and should inform yourself and speak to the psychiatrist. Just don't over ride their judgement.
Avatar n tn My daughter is currently taking a combination of depakote, lamictal, and abilify for a mood disorder. However, her doctor feels the overwhelming problem with her is an anxiety disorder that is not being addressed by the current meds. The doctor wants to ween her off the lamictal completely and start her on klonopin wafers. I am concerned about the "drowsiness" side effects. Do these eventually go away?
Avatar f tn Lyrica seems to work for me, however the side effects include drowsiness and weight gain. I also take baclophen, which is a muscle relaxent and Celexa for my depression. It is also used for fibromyalgia. If you are having trouble sleeping and don't want to take something addicting, Then take melatonin. It is a herbal med. Good Luck and Take Care.
Avatar n tn too much of these drugs/sub or subutes carry lots of side effects..and doctors seem to oer prescribe sub..too much causes drowsiness, fogginess etc..
Avatar f tn WARNING !! I became absolutely suicidal on Cymbalta. Never has this been an issue for me. Check out Cymbalta Forums and read what others have written. Gather information to make an informed decision. It works wonders for some and I am very happy that it does. If you are not doing better in a week, see your doctor. This drug is VERY, VERY difficult to get off of. That alone, would make someone suicidal. It took two months to wean off of it.
539209 tn?1225972263 Lyrica is wonderful once you get passed the side effects,,usually takes a week,,,,,Also lyrica is a schedule 5 drug,,with Morphine componants
Avatar f tn usually any side effects to the medications, disappear after a week or two on suppressive therapy odds are it's the herpes itself and your body fighting it that is making you drowsy, not the medication.
Avatar n tn Dilaudid-HP All medicines may cause side effects, but many people have no, or minor, side effects. Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome when using Dilaudid-HP: Constipation; dizziness, drowsiness; dry mouth; flushing; lightheadedness; nausea; sweating; vomiting.
Avatar n tn Attention anyone taking Cymbalta...PLEASE read about the side effects and the horrible withdrawl symptoms. It turned me into a zoombie then it took over a year to withdraw from. It is worse than anything I have ever experienced in my whole life. I am not going to be a guinea pig for any more of these new drugs, I'll just stick with vicodin.
Avatar f tn Thank you so much for your suggestions. I am looking into the Omega-3 thing, although I haven't seen established studies of its efficacy yet. And of course I'll keep my eyes open for new things as they come out. I have seen multiple psychiatrists, including a psychopharmocologist, and none of them have particularly helpful suggestions, although they are very good doctors.
Avatar f tn Hi Ladies I just have as question about metformin whats the side effects some of you may have had? I start to take metformin today so maybe this will bring on my period. I had a natural m.c in nov 2008 and no AF as of yet.
983008 tn?1329925830 Been taking it just over a week, 100mg twice a day - side effects can include drowsiness, Dr says he didn't think a low dose would produce many side effects and to keep taking it, i think a higher dose can cause side effects - I'll keep taking it and see how I go over the next few weeks thanks Val x
Avatar f tn i am on cymbalta...no side effects until my doctor upped my dose, but just extreme tiredness, so i lowered my dose back to 60 mgs....usually the brain zaps are when you suddenly stop taking it, any antidepressant can cause this when abruptly stopped....but everyone is different. are you experiencing any side effects from it now?
