cymbalta

Avatar f tn I'm SORRY but WHO the HELL created that youtube video?????????????? EVERY ONE of OUR bodies IS different! What works for some; doesn't for others. And as i'm stating my opinion (we all are entitled to our own) it's REALLY helped me. And i'm SORRY Cymbalta hasn't worked for some. I DO have REAL depression & Prozac made me a FLAT out physco, suicidal ***** from hell. Lexapro, Celexa & paxil DIDN"T work for me & i gained over 10 lbs. w/ a quickness.
Avatar f tn Hi! I'm going to ask my doctor about this. I'm using the Cymbalta for the fibro and depression. But I'd love to hear how it works for you. Oh wouldn't that be nice if this is the wonder drug!
1442059 tn?1340240952 I was on Cymbalta for 5 months. Only side-effects I had was nausea for about 1 week then it went away. Cymbalta was very energetic and helped me going thru the hard time I was dealing when my mom had cancer. When she passed I stopped cold turkey and had brain zaps for 1 month. This drug is very potent and can work very well but it's not a cheap drug and cost a lot. I was very active while being on Cymbalta (going to the gym 3-4 times a week and jogging 45 min everyday) and very outgoing.
Avatar f tn I am sorry to hear you are suffering. I have RA, too, and I know what you mean about longing to enjoy things and be pain free. We all hope for remission and in the mean time have to find a way to come to terms with our pain and limitations. There are a lot of different drugs out there to help with pain and inflammation and it sounds to me like you need to ask your doctor about exploring them.
Avatar f tn I've been on Cymbalta now for about a year. It has helped my depression and my energy levels. I'm bipolar also, so I'm on lithium. Without the lithium I felt anxious also. I'm on 60mg. of Cymbalta. At one time my doc didn't think the Cymbalta was working and I went down to 30mg. My depression got worse so I went back upto 60. I am feeling much better with the added lithium, my mood is much more even.
Avatar f tn Hi, its me again sorry to bother everyone, but, I have been very very depressed over the past few months, as you all know I have the missed heart beats and so on, I have been seeing a pshychiatrist for the depression, doc has just changed my medication from Avanza to 'Cymbalta' has anyone heard of this drug, he said it would be very safe, but I dont know how it will effect my ever ectopic heart.
Avatar n tn Cymbalta can work wonders for some people that have depression. It's one of the more stimulating meds though. Seroquel used to be used more for bi-polar but is being used more often now for depression. Did your Dr explain why they wanted you to take this med combo? I do agree with SassyLassie. Call the pharmacy because they'll know if you can takes these meds together safely.
Avatar n tn I have been taking Cymbalta for 2 months and it has been a really really good medication for me with the depressiona and anxiety.Unfortunately I have gained 15lbs. I went from excercising 2x's a week to now excercising 7 days a week and going into the sauna for 20min and also have been cutting down in the amount of food I eat, where as before I didn't eat very much anyway. If somebody has a solution please share your secret.
Avatar f tn t have stomach and it is hard to treat meet,Was on lithium 15yr could hold gun right, they have tried me on Cymbalta, 2 or 3 more I have had 3 hours sleep last 8 days
Avatar m tn I was on Cymbalta for about 6 years. Last year my Pdoc doubled the dose for awhile. Then for 8 months we tried med changes. 10 different medicines. At the end he kept me on the 4 pill drug cocktail I had originally had before the episode. I am helped greatly by talk therapy. So I'm concentrating on that for now. What about you?
7684852 tn?1437171892 It certainly seems like the Cymbalta isn't working well for you. I also became really depressed after quitting. I had to try a couple of different ADs before finding one that really helps. I feel good now. Tell your Dr that you want to try something different. Best wishes. Hope you are better soon!
1226682 tn?1399937724 it worked, very well in fact, was the first medicine to work for me for depression and anxiety. however it became extremely addicting for me. if i just miss a couple days my depression and anxiety attacks come back full throttle along with other withdrawl symptoms such as intense migraine, nausea, hot flashes/chills, etc. worst feeling ever. i have decided to start weening off this medication, but i can only go down small steps. i am a small girl tho. i was on 60-90mg.
Avatar n tn Cymbalta made my depression worse and made me pretty nauseated. But then, I never do respond to psychotropic drugs or antidepressants very well.
Avatar m tn I would personally urge caution. Do your homework. Cymbalta, as with all snris, isn't usually used if anxiety is the main problem, as it's a stimulating anti-depressant. It also is associated with liver problems, which came out when it recently applied for approval for chronic pain, which it is not currently approved for. It might just be the thing for you, but make sure whoever's prescribing it knows what he or she is doing.
694947 tn?1227987427 I read a lot of HORRIBLE reviews about cymbalta and wont go that route. I would rather deal with the pain then have the long term withdrawls and all that ****.
Avatar n tn hi trish i use cymbalta for depression and i recently also had spinal fusion c4 c5 c6 and as far as i can tell it doesnt help with pain for me i also tried lyrica and neurotin no luck on either one finally found a sympathetic doctor who gave 5 mg percocets they work as many wrecks and broken bones and so forth as i have had i know what works for me and what doesnt vicodin is like taking tic-tacs they make me jittery etc
Avatar m tn Hey VicUser, Yes, I have taken Cymbalta for depression and pain. They do help with the pain ....a little, but they work great for depression. They are addictive and must be tapered off of and they are also very expensive, but you probably have insurance, so hopefully that won't be an issue for you. I don't know what mgs you are prescribed, but it's something you should build up to, because they can make you quite nauseous at first, especially if starting out at to high a dose.
Avatar m tn Cymbalta is an SNRI which may make a difference for you. I took it for about 2 years and had no side effects.
3547166 tn?1347814000 I have recently been prescribed Cymbalta and I would like to know if it is a good treatment for Anxiety and Depression. Thank you in advance for any informtion.
400867 tn?1371753094 So I took my first Cymbalta today. Other than Paxil, nothing else has worked for me (Lexapro and Effexor). Anyone have any good experiences with Cymbalta? Just wondering what I'm in for this time... Thanks!!
Avatar m tn I have recently been struggling w/ more intense anxiety and depression and irritability. I am switching from Paxil to Cymbalta, and am down from 30 mg of Paxil to 5 mg, and then up to 60 mg of Cymbalta. I feel like I am having a racing heart/palpitations. I am not sure if it's anxiety, Paxil withdrawal, side effects from Cymbalta, or there is something wrong with my heart. Has anyone switched from Paxil to Cymbalta (weaning off/increasing at same time.) If so, did you have any issues?
