Sometimes when staring at the TV or computer screen my eyes feel like they jump and I get a dizzy disoriented feeling come over me and my head feels fuzzy. 396332 tn?1320003615 Digestive problems are one of the most common symptoms of antidepressants. If the drug is working for you otherwise, you can try remedies such as aloe juice and digestive enzymes. If it isn't working for you, then yes, you should try something else, but taper slowly and work with your psychiatrist when doing so. If the psychiatrist doesn't seem to understand or empathize with withdrawal problems, find another.
Avatar n tn i agree with the other posts, cymbalta does not help anxiety, it made mine worse. what about adding an antianxiety med and going back down to 30mgs of the cymbalta? i hope you start feeling better soon. take care.
Avatar m tn I didn't really have any problems with wellbutrin at first. I felt great. I had a ton of energy, I was getting things done, and I had no suicidal thoughts. Then all of the sudden things went totally wrong. It's like the medication just wore off. Now it feels like my depression is back in full swing. I have no energy, I can't get anything done, and I feel like just giving up.
Avatar f tn Tapering slowly off is always safest, since it lessens the chance for long-term problems and developing new emotional problems you never had before. But even slow tapers leave many people with some withdrawal effects, so your choice is to go back on and taper even more slowly or wait it out. Fish oil is said to help with the brain zaps.
Avatar f tn I took Cymbalta for two years and I found it to be weight neutral - no weight gain. Your weight problems are more likely because of your thyroid than Cymbalta.
Avatar m tn Hi Gomez............still having some of the same problems, I see. You've only been on the Cymbalta for 4 days, you need to give it time to reach therapeutic levels before making any decisions about it's efficacy for you. As for the ache, if you discussed it with your doctor like I suggested, but it has returned, then by all means let him know it's back. It could warrant some further testing.

4753943 tn?1359934569 Could anyone give me insight or advice on Cymbalta? Today my doc switched me from Effexor to Cymbalta because I have chronic back pain and she felt the Effexor was not helping me at all. My main concern is stopping the Effexor. Has anyone switched like this before? I want to know if I should still expect the intense Effexor withdrawal symptoms such as brain zapping, nausea, dizziness, and crying spells. Any advice would greatly help. I want to know what I'm getting myself in to!

Avatar m tn have broadened a warning about possible liver problems with Cymbalta, a drug used to treat depression and pain associated with diabetic peripheral neuropathy. "Postmarketing reports of liver injury (including hepatitis and cholestatic jaundice) suggest that patients with pre-existing liver disease who take [Cymbalta] may have an increased risk for further liver damage," says the FDA. Cymbalta's labeling previously noted possible liver problems.
Avatar f tn YES! I had terrible problems with Cymbalta. I was on it last year and had facial numbness, drooping, tremors, and a ton of other symptoms. By the time my husband realized what was going on with it, I was almost dead. I stayed in the hospital for a while and then was home and unable to function for quite a while afterward. Be VERY wary of this medicine. I still have memory loss and other effects from it. Please be careful with this medication.
596143 tn?1226648054 I'm on Cymbalta for moodswings and fibro. Someone posted that they were on Cymbalta and Lamactil and it worked well. Cant find the post. Anyone taking this combination and does it work.
Avatar f tn Not saying that Cymbalta is a bad AD med, as it works great for many people. Just saying it gave me some pretty nasty symptoms.
Avatar m tn Hi, My doctor wants to put me on cymbalta for nerve pain that I have been having from an injury I have from 2005. It's nerve pain from a fall I took. He says it will help to calm down the nerves and signals from my brain to help with the pain. The prescription is for 30mg, 1 tab a day then increase to 2 tabs and recheck with him in a month. I'm alittle scared to take this, as I have never had to go on this kind of medicene and I'm afraid what the side effects might do.
Avatar m tn Hello, I have been on 10mg of Lexapro since September 2010 and I must admit that is has helped with anxiety and depression. At first i had energy and didn;t have sleep issues but for the past couple of months i've been very sluggish and groggy. The doc decided to switch me to Cymbalta. I will start at 30mg and work my way up to 60 mg. I'm a little concerned about making the switch because it makes me wonder if the whole gettting on a medication process will take place all over again.
400867 tn?1371753094 Hi there I've been taking cymbalta for about a year and have no problems actually I think my hair is better know. Do you have any other problems? I think a thyroid problem will cause that as well as many other problems will. Have you checked with a doc.?
Avatar n tn Early last year I stopped Cymbalta and had no problems being on it or getting off of it. Then last Summer I began taking Victoza for my Diabetes, I take 1.2 mg injection every other day. It's a great medicine and has also helped me lose weight. Then in Mid-December I was getting Depressed again and thought I might try going back on Cymbalta. I took one 60mg capsule in the early afternoon. I was fine until about 8 hours later.
Avatar f tn Pls ppl, Do not go onto any dose of Cymbalta w/o investigating it thoroughly. Thr is no exit strategy for Cymbalta and its half-life is only 12hrs; IOW, u cld be on Cymbalta 20mg for the rest of yr life b/c u cn't functn w/o it. Most of the ppl who hv tried to wean thmslvs off Cymbalta face awful serotonin w/drawal symptoms. It is not unusual tht Cymbalta patients hv broken the 20mg capsule and eliminated 1-2 pebbles (out of abt 50 in each capsule) per wk. it's a complete nightmare.
Avatar f tn I just ordered more Cymbalta from Canada who in turn orders it from India. I always get the generic duloxetine from them but this time I also got duvanta.
1627868 tn?1333886342 I was wondering if anyone here has taken or currently is taking cymbalta and what their experience with it is. My doctor wants me to start taking this at a low dose, I believe it's 30mg once a day, to see if it would help with my pain. She said she can also add neurontin down the road if needed. I just don't know....
Avatar f tn In humans, there have been reports of problems in newborn babies born to mothers who were taking medications similar to Cymbalta. These problems can be as minor as irritability or as serious as seizures or lung problems. It is important to note that depression in the mother may also not be healthy for a baby. Therefore, Cymbalta may be given to pregnant women if the healthcare provider believes that the benefits to the pregnant woman outweigh any possible risks to the unborn child.
1128643 tn?1262483649 What your doctor will probably do is cut down the Celexa completely and give you 60mg Cymbalta after your first week on Cymbalta. 60mg will be your regular dose, 30mg is the starting dose.
