cymbalta pi

My GP gave me two weeks worth of Cymbalta 30mg samples, saying that it'd help me with the chronic pain I've been dealing with since September, caused by occipital neuralgia. A blast of cold air really makes the pain untolerable and I don't want to be popping 7 tylenols a day for the next few months. I'm also taking Wellbutrin XL 150mg for depression, Klonopin 1mg as needed for anxiety, and recently my doctor added Aderrall 10mg/day to help with my ADD-PI.

If a person is treating with the PI drugs and fails to get SVR.does it mean that you cant use the PI`s ever again.this is what im gathering from what ive been reading ...looks like its do or you know what....man...sometimes i wonder how i deal with all thie stuff.

Maybe one day they will use the PI as maintenance for the ones who dont respond to SOC and PI drugs.Ive heard of aids people liiving a lot longer now because of the PI`s too.Some are with aids for 25 years and still doing ok. "An apple a day keeps the doctor away, But if the doctor is cute forget the fruit.

seems I need to find a new GI, mine is just not cutting it. I was prescribed Cymbalta and only after filling it and reading the PI did I find that he just prescribed me something that could have a fatal side effect with my migraine medications. His response was to see my primary care (I don't have one, he just retired), stop my migraine medication (Um, no thanks) or quit my therapy. Really? Quit? After I have gone undetectable, I don't think so!

I knew it would work! They want me to extend out to 52 weeks, though. I already decided to take myself off the study after the 12 weeks of the study drugs. My job is on the line, I start Grad school in the fall, and I've had just about every side effect there is from the SOC drugs. It would have been nice to get the PI in the beginning, but it didn't happen. I was still detectable at week 16 on those 2, and they are the ones causing me to be so sick! OK, done with my rant.

He was told to do laser PI to prevent the glucoma first. Just wonder if the laser PI is needed and is it will worsen the catarct situation since he plans to have the cataract removed at least 6-9 months later.

I was thinking about this recently. If somebody try's a PI, and fails / builds resistance to that PI, then re-infects somebody else in the general population with Hep C - won't the disease gain resistance to that PI? The new mutation could spread, and become the standard for Hep C (given the new resistance, will make it live longer). Are PI's a short term fix, that the virus will eventaully become resistant to?

Hi, My doctor wants to put me on cymbalta for nerve pain that I have been having from an injury I have from 2005. It's nerve pain from a fall I took. He says it will help to calm down the nerves and signals from my brain to help with the pain. The prescription is for 30mg, 1 tab a day then increase to 2 tabs and recheck with him in a month. I'm alittle scared to take this, as I have never had to go on this kind of medicene and I'm afraid what the side effects might do.

Only took Cymbalta for 3 months but had side effects of being off balance lightheaded feeling like I am walking in a boat now I being taken off the drug and having nightmares the sweats headaches anyone had this experience with this drug?

So I took my first Cymbalta today. Other than Paxil, nothing else has worked for me (Lexapro and Effexor). Anyone have any good experiences with Cymbalta? Just wondering what I'm in for this time... Thanks!!

Would you recommend stopping Effexor and switching to Cymbalta? Will Cymbalta reduce the withdrawal effect? My daughters were both recently put on Cymbalta, and their depression is much better, and they claim they are "thinking more clearly". Thanks for your input.

Did your doc just tell you to stop the Effexor and start the Cymbalta? What dose of Effexor are you stopping at, and what dose of Cymbalta are you starting at? Some people have seamless transitions, while others report some symptoms of a discontinuation syndrome, like you mentioned above. Hopefully, you'll have a smooth transition. Definitely let us know how you're feeling.

I have tried it all! Everybody is different. I am on 60mg of Cymbalta. I can't not take it though because it messes me up (if my insurance is messing around etc...) but if youre ready to be consistent, I'd try it.

HI I am going to the doctor on the 13th of june to get on an antidepressant.

That being said, her doctor was wise to switch her over to another medication like Cymbalta. 30Mgs of Cymbalta is a good starting point and this gives him option to ramp the dosage up as needed. Regardless of this fact, Cymbalta, May or may not be an effective medication for her. I tried Cymbalta for 7 weeks at 60Mgs per day (after 4 years on Effexor) and in my case it did NOTHING to help with my condition.

Hello LA, Thanks so much for the response to my rant yesterday. I feel better today. Still have the double vision but like always my friends here cheer me up. To answer your question. I was on Cymbalta for about 6 weeks. I asked to be taken off of it. It was making me feel strange. Very "short Fused", irritated, grouchy. I started taking Effexor when this started and I went back to it just a higher dose now. I have seen where people here have got on it and it has helped very well.

Cymbalta made my depression worse and made me pretty nauseated. But then, I never do respond to psychotropic drugs or antidepressants very well.

My Dr. wanted me to try low dose Cymbalta for Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and did not have the 30 mg samples so i was given the 60 mg with instructions to empty the capsules into food, as this would reduce the dose by approximately half. I became very ill with vomiting and severe diarreah. I was up all night running to the bathroom and was concerned when i looked up information on cymbalta that said not to open capsules.

I had insomnia and fibromyalgia. My doctor put me on Cymbalta. He said it would help me with sleep and pain. It was 2 weeks of hell, no sleep and constant pain and I wanted to kill myself!!! I was not depressed and have no history of depression. my doctor switched me to amitriptyline. It helps with sleep but not pain, I would never recommend Cymbalta to anyone !

I was recently prescribed Cymbalta for severe Anxiety. I am taking it but I haven't been on it long enough for it to start working yet. Does anyone have any personal experience with this medication? Does anyone know how well this medication will work? I am worried it won't work at all. My Psychiatrist has tried me on so many different medications.

So pcp says don't take the Gabapentin here try cymbalta? They both seem to have bad side affects!? Anyone have experiences or advice on cymbalta? Oh, and now am having a horrible pulling sensations in my throat?

I am 38 years old and 5weeks prego with #3. I have been taking 30mg of cymbalta for the past two years. I don't see the doctor until January 14. Has anyone taken cymbalta while prego and is it safe???

Hi...I took cymbalta until I found out that I was pregnant with my 3 yr old (like a year or two) and I didn't think that it really helped me personally. It does take 3 to 4 weeks to know if a med is helping, however if you think that you are vomiting because of the med then I would ask for a different med! I know that towards the end I was only taking it because of the withdrawl I would experience if I did not take it. When I finally had to stop completly the withdrawl was AWFUL!
