cymbalta neurontin

s like am swallowing sand instead of salvia. Not sure if the Cymbalta works or not. I take Neurontin 9 times a day. The Neurontin makes me feel tired and messes with my memory. Just what FM people need to have right along with Fibro Fog. I think the doctors are just messing with us on the Meds.

I have been on Neurontin since 1999. I remember when I first started taking it I would not remember at all what had happen recently. I lost my short term memory and every time we had to up the dose( because you get so used to it so fast it become ineffective), the same effect would happen. I am now on 3600mg/day. that's the highest it can go. But Neurontin has it long term effect.

Has any one heard of or experienced being on Cymbalta and/or Neurontin and where the side effects suddenly became MS like symptoms after being on them for a year?

I am taking a quick survey of anyone that has tried Cymbalta for pain, along with what wlse you are on that decreases neruogenic pain. Thanks!

What exactly are cymbalta and lyrica? Aren't they anti-depressants? How do they help with the pain? Do they help with chronic fatigue as well? I have been diagnosed with chronic fatigue, and the aches and pains(especially legs from my thighs to my ankels) are leading the doctor to think fibromyalgia. I was just wondering about these meds because I NEED some relief and I've heard many mentions of these meds. Can they be taken with provigil?

I have been thinking about asking my doctor about cymbalta because my lower back had been killIng me for about 2 years. It is because I have a severe case of endometriosis...I ended up having a hysterectomy 3 months ago. Had anyone taken cymbalta for lower back pain? All I have is Flexerrel (muscle relaxers) but that doesn't work every time.

Hello to all I am new to this forum and have a question that I hope someone out there can answer.I was prescribed neurontin by my pain management doc for 4 bulging discs in my back on 6/8/11. I take 1 300mg pill 3x's a day. I am going to see my primary doc on 6/13/11 for severe anxiety/ panic attacks. I would like to know what anxiety meds I should AVOID while taking the neurontin? Lyrica is basically a newer, slightly tweeked form of neurontin so it would have done basically the same thing as the neurontin. Cymbalta is also used to treat nerve pain so your neuro was in the ballpark. Good luck and hope it resolves soon.

I have been looking over the Thomas Recipe, and I have some questions. First here is a list if med's I am taking Flexerile, Soma, Cymbalta, and Neurontin. Will any of these medications help, or hurt doing the Thomas Recipe? I really don't have access to the valium. I can't taper down because I have taken my last pills today, and I am dry. I noticed the recipe said to watch taking MAIO's with some of the supplements. Does anyone know anything about this.

I was taking neurontin 300mg/3x a day. It was working fairly well for about 3 weeks, then started not working...they thought I needed a higher dose, but then my old doctor told me it was all in my head and took me off all meds! It did make me tired and actually made me a little depressed. So while I was taking it my doctor put me on Cymbalta to kind of counter act the depression. Which made me even more tired.

I'm being treated for chronic headaches/migraines.4yr history,only within last 6 months went back to neurologist to seek MD help again after MANY pro-active "natural" then OTC methods had failed.(4yrs ago several CT's/MRI's, then arterialgram ruled out a possible AVM or any other serious cause) Other than aboritive Relpax or Imitrex, was started on combo of Lyrica/Amitriptaline(?) Topamax ruled out due to "nerve" symptoms he said it wouldn't help.

Hi there, okay I have taken Neurontin and Cymbalta together. Neurontin is similar to Lyrica, but is a lot cheaper. I could not tolerate the Cymbalta at all. It made me sick with vertigo, nausea, and it didn't help with the pain. I was prescribed this when they first thought I had fibromyalgia and then later found out it was Still's. I have friends that take Lyrica, a lot of them are on the MS forum here and they had little luck with the med itself.

Hi Amy, where is your pain? Craig has foot pain, and back pain up and down his spine. I am wondering if Cymbalta would help him. He keeps increasing the Neurontin but it doesn't seem to make a difference. Thanks for posting this.

t wnat ot change over to Cymbalta right now because they work so well. The increased dose of Neurontin makes me very drowsy and is interfering with my work life...even though I've only been able to go back to work for 25 hours a week. I knew I could count on the forum to help!

I have been diagnosed with fibro over a year ago and take numerous herbs and they tried cymbalta which I stopped cause it made me hyper and nausias now he gave me neurontin which I have not taken yet. Has anyone tried this med yet. Has anyone else developed a b12 defiency also.

I was prescribed Neurontin for what they are thinking are overactive nerves. I had an injury 2 years ago and am still in pain and they think it's from the nerves not having settled or still being irritated. The doc said this was the safest med he prescribes. I don't like medicine.

I have the same pain, but my toe start cramping up with it. My doctor put me on Lyrica which helps alot with the burning, doesn't take it away but makes it bearable.

I am trying to figure out which med is causing my wt gain. I have been on Neurontin (which I know may cause wt gain) for over a yr and never had a problem with wt gain while on it. In fact, I was maintaining my wt and slowly losing it without much effort. In May I was started on Flexiril, Cymablta and Celebrex for fibro dx. I have put on 20lbs since then. I am gaining over 5 lbs a month. No matter what I do I continue to gain. If I eat healthy...eat high protein...eat junk....

I was wondering if anyone here has taken or currently is taking cymbalta and what their experience with it is. My doctor wants me to start taking this at a low dose, I believe it's 30mg once a day, to see if it would help with my pain. She said she can also add neurontin down the road if needed. I just don't know....

I am desperate for answers regarding my chronic leg pain and fatigue. My doctor keeps increasing my Cymbalta. Now wants me to get off of Elavil 25mg and Adderal 15mg. Doctor says take the Neurontin for sleep. The Elavil works best for pain, but I can hardly get up in the mornings and it has made me gain 10 plus pounds and counting. I take Clonapin 0.5mg twice a day. Getting off the Elavil, I am having cold feet and hands and a very unsettling feeling and absolutley no energy.

I've not been on Cymbalta, but I've been on neurontin, then lyrica, then back to neurontin. I agree with JENNIEO: with both neurontin and lyrica, I went through a "honeymoon" phase during which I had a lot of benefits and low side effects. But then the side effects got worse and/or the symptom relief dropped. It's tough to tell when the side effects are a lot like the symptoms you are trying to treat!

My neurologist prescribed Cymbalta. It helps tremendously. I also tried neurontin but it wasnt for me. The tingling and buzzing sensation used to drive me crazy especially when trying to fall asleep.

I've had them but caught it within 48 hours so my primary care put me on acyclovir, which cuts the duration as well as the aeverity. I think you might be too far in for an antiviral. Narcotics aren't the best way to treat shingles pain. Ask for neurontin or lyrica. Cymbalta may work but that takes longer to kixk in. Treating shingles pain is pretty basic. If your doctor doesn't take your pain seriously, you might want to look at finding a new doctor.

He said I will get the cymbalta. So I brought the cymbalta and again my insurance DENIED it again. The Pharmacy called my doc and he called my insurance. They worked out a solution. They and my family doc prescribed a generic med called citalopram that I am taking for 30 days and if it doesn't help then they will ok the Cymbalta. Actually so far the Citalopram IS helping!!!! I was also wondering if anyone can tell me if the lyrica should have helped on the first dose and if I shoud continue to try it or if I should just switch back to the neurontin. Is the lyrica something that takes days to get used to? Also I am very disconcerted over the fact that he gave me a crapload of cymbalta and asked me if I had ever been treated for anxiety or depression.
