cymbalta

596143 tn?1226648054 I'm on Cymbalta & Lamictal, it works GREAT for me. I've had no problems at all. I went thru the slow starting on both. The Lamictal took longer to get in my system, but once it was on target I was great! The Cymbalta they added later. It works well too. I really like this combo...
Avatar m tn I have been on Lamictal and Cymbalta for some time. I was taking 100mg of the Lamictal, but was recently increased to 200mg. I asked to be taken off the Cymbalta because I thought I was having a bad side effect from it....profuse sweating! But it hasn't stopped. I am active and go to the gym on a regular basis and it's just plain embarrassing having sweat pouring off my head & body. It also smells like ammonia. I am ruining a lot of my clothes and it's maddening.
Avatar f tn How long does it take for an increased level of Lamictal work? My doctor upped my mgs from 125 for 1 week, then 150. I've felt more restless and have a hard time comprehending things when my husband asks me a simple question, such as where is something. I don't like this feeling, but I'm holding out that this will help me, along with my current meds (Depakote, Cymbalta, Geodon). At this point, I just don't know what's working and what isn't.
607502 tn?1288247540 I think my pdoc is trying to cover all bases as she has me on cymbalta, seroquel xr, lamictal and lithium. I just don't sleep on a normal basis and seroquel didn't change that, but seroquel xr at first was great! helped my mood and let me sleep. Now...I'm getting depressed again with hallucinations, am gaining alot of weight and can't wake up for many hours in the morning.
739988 tn?1386672969 I had the same issues with cymbalta...truly blinding headaches. My doc. put me on lamictal to help smooth out my rapid cycling and that made a world of difference for me. I still get the migraines occasionallly but not like before. Not suggesting you go on a second drug to help counteract the first - just letting you know my experience. Good luck - i know the heaaches can get bad.
Avatar f tn Hi You may have read some of my posts i was recently taking off depakote as i felt it put me in this pit of depression my counsler startd me on cymbalta this afternoon about 1 1/2 hours ago and im feeling so drowsy is this normal i was on it last year so i shouldnt be allgerci to it Right

Avatar f tn s appointment I will be asking (for the second time) for topomax instead of the lithium and lamictal...or at least instead of the lithium....lamictal I am not sure about the weight with that. I only lose my appetite if I am upset (which has always been my habit) but with these pills I have increased appetite. Risperdal was the worse for me....
Avatar f tn m at my last resort after being on Depakote, Lamictal, Geodon, and Cymbalta. If anyone has had any experience with either of these drugs, I'd like to know what you thought of them.
Avatar f tn Not to mention that another doctor diagnosed me previous to this doctor as ADD, so I was on Adderall XR 20 mg and Cymbalta 60 mg. My Pdoc told me that it was a horrible combo for me - and progressively took me off of Cymbalta (withdrawals sucked big time) and put me on a progressively increasing Lamactical dose. I went from 12.5 to 25 to 50 and now I am getting to the 100mg stage. My issue is that I have had bouts with nausia, diarhea, and bad headaches.
Avatar f tn I hav't had ANY of those side effects. I was worried about the 'sugar' increase (possibly) but, it hasn't happened & high sugar runs in our family. The muscle jerks I was terrified of. My Father has Non-hogkins, which causes the tremors, but after being on the Abilify for many years that doesn't seem to apply either. I've not gained any lbs. except in show of the Depakote. I gained an embassingly huge amt.
Avatar f tn I am 31 and been on bipolar meds for 15 years now on cymbalta and topamax but they are causing my blood pressure to drop to low anyone know of any other meds that may help cant take depokate or lithium allergic thanks for the help
407790 tn?1397761026 ve taken Cymbalta, Adderall and Wellbutrin for years (though I took Pristiq instead of Cymbalta for an ill-fated 10 months.) I started Lamictal last spring and Topamax about a month ago. I haven't been in therapy for a while, mostly because my depression is so chemical (which is what every therapist I've spoken to in the past couple of years has said to me.) When my meds work, I'm fine. When they don't, I'm a crying mess. It's like someone flipped a switch. Oy. Anyway!
Avatar m tn after about 3 years i was finally dx with BP, currently fairly stable on lamictal an prozac, still have severe depressive attacks an thoughts of suicide to stop the pain, meds are going on about 6weeks now any idea whn they will kick in
Avatar n tn Klonipin is for anxiety, lamictal is a mood stabilizer, cymbalta is an antidepressant, so she is probably pretty sedated. My question is : has she ever been to a psychiatrist?
Avatar f tn I realize the underlying issue is depression/coping. Today I saw a NP and was prescribed Saphris 5mg SL every night and started on Lamictal with a tapering increase in dose over the next month. Im not comfortable with the Saphris though,,,its an "atypical antipsychotic" and used for people with Bipolar I disorder and schizophrenia????? Any suggestions,,I am trying to listen to the psych people as they know best,,so I will take as prescibed for now.
Avatar f tn s like can I ever get well - I was placed on Lamictal, Cymbalta and Klonopin - however my doctor upped the lamictal to 400 mgs and the cymbalta to 60 mgs and I had a very severe reaction to it (this was after having been rushed to the hospital in the intensive cardiac care unit because the doctor prescribed lithium when I was on a diuretic for high blood pressure).
98010 tn?1305899735 t working, or if he needs to increase the Lamictal. He is maxed out on dosage of Cymbalta, but still has a little room to increase the lamictal. Had a really rough time in the beginning with the cymbalta and has resisted trying to go to something else. Thoughts? It seemed like the first month with Cymbalta helped with the depression (although awful side effects), but then started having a reverse effect. Has this happened to anyone else? 3) Finally just a theoretical question.
Avatar f tn Hi and welcome to the forum! Wellbutrin is an atypical AD and with them it's very personal, it really depends from one person to another. Give it the time to kick in tho, it takes a minimum of 2 weeks. Best of luck to you. sophie.
Avatar m tn I can definitely relate to what you're going through. I've been on a number of medications--Depakote, Cymbalta, Lamictal and Geodon. The combination doesn't seem to help no matter how much my psychiatrist raises the dose. In my case, I have no insurance, so I just have to be patient. It's hard after feeling this way for 3 years. If I were you, I'd give it some more time, because I've heard that ECT makes you lose your memory, etc. Let me know how you do.
Avatar f tn I've been smoking marijuana for about 5 years. I've been diagnosed bipolar for about 2 years. I recently had a really bad reaction to pot. REALLY bad. I almost killed myself, screamed at my friends, and vomited for 2 days. No one else that smoked it had a bad reaction. I haven't had a medication change recently. I'm on lamictal, seroquel, wellbutrin, cymbalta, and adderall. I don't know what happened. It wasn't laced or else everyone would have gotten sick.
Avatar n tn Hello, I havne't been on any antidepressant because I'm so afraid of the weight gain. I tried Wellbutrin, but even at 50mg, my heart was racing and I couldn't sleep. I'm reading a little about Cymbalta. Does it make you gain weight? I'd love to hear about your experiences with meds and weight gain.
