Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta great

cymbalta

Avatar m tn I have also tried and done a whole list of other things to find an option to vics and pain. Anyway, I saw my Dr yesterday and he prescribed Cymbalta to go along with the vics that I am taking. He does not want to increase my vic use or the strength above the 5/500's that I get now. Has anyone else taken Cymbalta? I am hopeful that it will help me, but as we are friends here and I respect the input from all of you please let me know of good or bad things you have found with this med.
Avatar f tn I was on Cymbalta for 2 years. It is a great medication and gave me energy. Plus, I didn't feel depressed at all. I switched to pristiq because of the cost and I have diabetes and it did have weight gain for me.
Avatar f tn I am taking a quick survey of anyone that has tried Cymbalta for pain, along with what wlse you are on that decreases neruogenic pain. Thanks!
983594 tn?1249672009 Norephinepherine Reuptake Inhibitors like Cymbalta are great for Major depression with anxiety, but not so great if the person only suffers anxiety. The reason is because SNRI's like Cymbalta are more stimulating than the SSRI drugs. You may want to ask your doctor about Lexapro. It is a very potent SSRI and is less stimulating than an SNRI would be and it may do better for just anxiety.
Avatar f tn HI I am going to the doctor on the 13th of june to get on an antidepressant.
596143 tn?1226648054 I've been off and on Cymbalta for about a year. It works great for the neuropathy in my feet, but that's about it. I can't go off it unless I want to give up sleeping and walking forever, but it hasn't really done anything for my other FMS issues. As for no referrals, you might just be lucky enough to have a knowledgeable doctor! I got one referral after another and test after test and medication after medication until I ended up in the emergency room. Hang in there!
Avatar m tn I had insomnia and fibromyalgia. My doctor put me on Cymbalta. He said it would help me with sleep and pain. It was 2 weeks of hell, no sleep and constant pain and I wanted to kill myself!!! I was not depressed and have no history of depression. my doctor switched me to amitriptyline. It helps with sleep but not pain, I would never recommend Cymbalta to anyone !
1168718 tn?1464983535 Candy, I was on cymbalta for pain a while back. It worked great for me but I got headaches on a daily basis so my neuro took me off of it. I loved it for the pain though. The meds wont interfere with your injections. Your neuro has a list of all your meds and I am sure he/she is making sure that the combinations are safe. It is crazy all the meds we end up taking.
Avatar n tn I have tried it all! Everybody is different. I am on 60mg of Cymbalta. I can't not take it though because it messes me up (if my insurance is messing around etc...) but if youre ready to be consistent, I'd try it.
Avatar f tn I just ordered more Cymbalta from Canada who in turn orders it from India. I always get the generic duloxetine from them but this time I also got duvanta.
Avatar m tn I have a question is anyone out there on a high dose of cymbalta, I have been on 180mg p/day for a year, I decided too try and cut my dose back by 30mg today, and as the day went on I noticed my w/ds were getting bad so I took a 30mg dose and im back too feeling like i did when i woke up this morning which was great. Is there anyone who has experinced this, I mentioned this to my pharmisitist and she had never heard I have noticed this in the past also.
314833 tn?1263259499 Cymbalta works great for me and i had bad anxiety. I take 60 mg and feel very balanced on it. Though the first 4 weeks on it I had some very 'down' days and fatigue, but then it worked great except for some problems with inability to orgasm but this also gets better, but never normal, however it is the only real side effect i notice. Except for feeling 'together' and being really productive, calm and balanced !
1125419 tn?1259705049 I will no longer be able to pay for the Cymbalta due to an insurance change, therefore the doctor is putting back on Prozac. I felt great previously when on Prozac and I've been off of it long enough that it should work fine now. The power of possitive thinking. Just wondering if anyone has had withdrawl from coming off of Cymbalta. Maybe you should suggest your doctor putting you on Prozac, it's worth a try.
Avatar f tn I have been on Cymbalta for about a year and a half. Before Cymbalta I was on Effexor and before that Zoloft. Out of the 3, Cymbalta has been the best for me. It works well, but it did VERY well for the first 2 months. I felt very happy and always in a good mood. I tried Lexapro once but it made me always down and in a bad mood.
Avatar f tn I changed to Cymbalta with great results. However, I am starting to believe that it is no longer working and am considering changing back to Prozac. Has anyone else had trouble with the drugs effects tapering off like that? And if so, how do I go about safely making the change?
Avatar n tn Hi Lara, I have been taking Cymbalta for many years and it has been a great drug in fighting my depression. Only you can make that choice whether or not to take it. I feel that this drug is very safe and effective. I have read the hype about Cymbalta side effects and I personally have experienced none of them. I also find it perfectly safe.
Avatar f tn t been very effective, you may need a different antidepressant. Cymbalta is a great med, but it does tend to be more activating. Very best of luck to you.
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken Cymbalta for depression? If so, how long...what were the side effects if any? How long have you been taking it....are you happy with it?
1442059 tn?1340240952 Feeling pretty down does anyone have anything good to say about cymbalta.? I have high anxiety as well as lupus and a hep c treatment on the horizon. I know they will give me an anti depressant and I was hoping for some input. Most others make me feel bad.
Avatar f tn My Dr. just switched me from Effexor XR to Cymbalta. I took my first dose of Cymbalta in the evening, because the script said it caused drowsiness. I was wide awake all night and went to work the following day. Has anyone had a problem with this med at night? Now I'm not taking anything. I'm a mess. Probably going through withdrawals. Please help. I can't reach my doctor.
Avatar m tn i want to change an AD i'm on, cymbalta, to something else. i take it at nite, lo dose. i feel its run its course over the years and don't want to increase mg's as it always make me way to "dull-dead" if that makes any sense due to lack of better description. i have appt soon with doc that gives this to me so now is a good time to check on a few alternatives to cymbalta, if there are any and what opinions the folks here have of them.
