1442059 tn?1340240952 The main uses of duloxetine (cymbalta) are in major depressive disorder, general anxiety disorder, stress urinary incontinence, painful peripheral neuropathy and fibromyalgia. In addition, it is being studied for various other indications. It's one of the newer anti-depressants and gets good reviews from patients.
Avatar f tn Due to insurance changes, it will be less expensive for me to take a generic antidepressant in the same category as Cymbalta. I believe it is a Seratonin Uptake. I could be wrong. Does anyone else take Paroxetine (Generic for Paxil) and does it help you with the MS pains? I took Paroxetine before and switched. I think had I been on a higher dose I would have done better on it. Instead, my PCP switched me to Welbutrin (I call it Hellbutrin because it made me CRAZY!!!!!

Avatar n tn t pay for the cymbalta. They require that I use an alternative, generic or have the doc fax the insurance company with the reason why I specifically need cymbalta. I want to come off the stuff anyway. Can i just stop after about a week or so of 30mg? If not what do i do about the insurance deal?
Avatar n tn I've been taking Zoloft twice a day (100 mg) for more than 10 years and it is no longer working. I'm interesting in trying to figure out what to try now. I've heard good things about Lexapro (insurance covers) and Cymbalta (insurance does not cover no generic)... So what should I do... I'm so depressed lately - i can't stand it.. just want to isolate and sleep 24/7. no energy or interest in anything... pls help. thank you.
Avatar f tn You need to understand that it can take a while for the steroids to kick in. Feeling better the same day you started them is likely a placebo effect. I have neuropathy in my feet/hands that causes a lot of burning/pain. Have you seen a neurologist to see if that could be your problem? There are medications that can help alleviate the burning/pain. One of the main ones is Duloxetine, which is a generic for Cymbalta.
Avatar f tn m not sure how many of yours, if any would be available in generic now but Wal-Mart had a great $4 per Rx, per month or $9 for 3 months. Walgreens has a similar thing going on but you have to join their prescription discount plan. There are also different drug discount cards that can save you some money on some prescriptions.
Avatar f tn I have recently started on cymbalta for PTSD and anxiety. I took two weeks at 30mg and now have been taking 60mg for almost two weeks although it seems to be helping me mentally I now have numbness in each of my fingers on both hands? Initially, my hands hurt bad and my fingers were swollen and felt like both hands had fallen asleep but couldnt wake up for like three days.
1258539 tn?1293840202 I have been on Cymbalta in the past and it was the best antidepressant I ever took. The only side-effects I had was nausea but after 1 week it was gone. My tolerance to alcohol increased, I was very outgoing in the parties etc. I just think it's a really potent and useful drug in both pain and depression and yeah anxiety. It can be stimulating for some, for me it was but it was not interfering with my anxiety.
Avatar n tn Interesting about the low cost generic; I have no idea why he has me on the name brand. I just assumed it wasn't in generic form yet. I ended up calling the doctor enough times that someone finally called me back. I gave them the number of the pharmacy and they called to find out what was going on. They called me back and told me that the prescription had been refilled (which wasn't the case the night before) and that there was a $25 copay.
552012 tn?1272855991 Why are the prices on Lamictal (lamotrigine) so expensive in the US? I'll tell you why. Drug companies! My daughter is waiting for her health insurance to kick in from her job and was running low. She got 2 weeks filled at $5 a pill!!!! This is WALMART and GENERIC!!!! $5 a freaking pill!!!! I got them from a pharmacy in Canada for her for $1.05 a pill ! 60 for 105 dollars!!!!! Those of you worried about Obama being socialistic...tell me...what has capitalism done for you lately???
Avatar f tn I heard LYRICA, inicialy prescribed for Fibromalgia is realy helpfull for anxiety, but It is not FDA approved yet in us but Europe is using it with success for years. My doc mentioned this med to me but still did not made decision if I shoul try it or not. I started taking Magnesium Taurate 3 days ago, so far not much of a difference but I will let you know!!!!
Avatar f tn s Lilly) created Cymbalta, a half-fast replica of Effexor (just chemically tweeked a little). In short, basically Cymbalta was created with $$ in mind, not the health and safety of the people that would be treated with the med. Sad I know. Glad you are off of it and feeling & LOOKING great :) I'm happy for you.
Avatar f tn I take (and abuse) fioricet with codeine capsules... Bultalbital is the generic name.... I do not know how much codeine is in each capsule, but I know one should NEVER take more than ten in 24 hours due to respitory depression which can cause death...
Avatar m tn I live in the US. If you are looking for Tenofovir, I'd suggest checking out a doctor at the HepB.org site and talking to them about a clinical trial (whether it's for Viread or another Hep B clinical trial). Some may offer right off the bat. I'm unsure about the price without insurance. I suspect, without insurance, $80 a pill?
479581 tn?1317757488 s actually an SNRI (serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitors) along the lines with Cymbalta, but hopefully it will be more affordable. It did have a good success rate in the studies and maybe it will be something else that can provide relief from pain. Thanks for the information dai3symae.
Avatar f tn hi i as teated with paroxitine for 6 mouths and it was so effective but i gained 15 kilos in 6 month so i stoped suddenly but now i am feel very bad and symptoms is return i need drug that does not cause weight gain and effective at the same time
Avatar f tn I'm in the same boat except I cannot take the generic I have to have Lyrica. With the others I have trouble breathing. I have a damaged spinal nerve root from a failed fusion. An epidural did help way more than a nerve block. I also take tizanidine and hydrocodone. I used a E-stem and Dragontree (online) have some awesome pain patches. Carry on.
Avatar f tn Did you get a different looking pill when you changed your dose? Sometimes people are actually allergic to a filler in a generic version of a pill, and not actually allergic to the drug (and eyes and throat swelling shut sounds like an allergic reaction, although I certainly can't tell you that for sure over the internet). As for the BP II--well, maybe. Those high activity levels or even the irritability could be signs of it, but they might not be.
