cymbalta

Avatar f tn My insurance company only pays for generic drugs when available as first option, however Cymbalta does not come in generic form from what I understand because I always buy generics but have never rec'd Cymbalta in generic form.
Avatar n tn These are two seperate medications. Call your doctor and explain that you can no longer afford the Cymbalta and he/she can prescribe a generic which will work just as well. I've been on a generic for several years with excellent results! Take care.
1302779 tn?1287405029 Hi. I just wanted to say I was on effexor 11 years. I experienced horrible withdrawal and two years later still have debilitating vertigo and balance issues as well as ringing in the ears and vision issues. I realize sometime people need antidepressants but if it all possible I would encourage people to forgo the. At least research them before you take them please.
8496079 tn?1398412516 Has the drug Gabapentin (generic for Neurontin) worked for Fibromyaglia pain within a few days of taking this medication for the horrible pain from the Fibro? I was put on Gabapentin (generic for Neurontin) yesterday by my doctor for my Fibromyalgia Condition in addition to the Norco 7.5/325 I can take up to 4 pills day as needed for the massive pain I'm in.
Avatar n tn t pay for the cymbalta. They require that I use an alternative, generic or have the doc fax the insurance company with the reason why I specifically need cymbalta. I want to come off the stuff anyway. Can i just stop after about a week or so of 30mg? If not what do i do about the insurance deal?

Avatar f tn Due to insurance changes, it will be less expensive for me to take a generic antidepressant in the same category as Cymbalta. I believe it is a Seratonin Uptake. I could be wrong. Does anyone else take Paroxetine (Generic for Paxil) and does it help you with the MS pains? I took Paroxetine before and switched. I think had I been on a higher dose I would have done better on it. Instead, my PCP switched me to Welbutrin (I call it Hellbutrin because it made me CRAZY!!!!!
Avatar n tn I've been taking Zoloft twice a day (100 mg) for more than 10 years and it is no longer working. I'm interesting in trying to figure out what to try now. I've heard good things about Lexapro (insurance covers) and Cymbalta (insurance does not cover no generic)... So what should I do... I'm so depressed lately - i can't stand it.. just want to isolate and sleep 24/7. no energy or interest in anything... pls help. thank you.
Avatar f tn There are medications that can help alleviate the burning/pain. One of the main ones is Duloxetine, which is a generic for Cymbalta. I take that for my neuropathy… It helps considerably, but doesn’t eliminate the pain. If you look it up, Cymbalta (Duloxetine) is listed as an anti-depressant, but it’s used “off label” quite often for pain. Check with your doctor and see if that might be possibility for you.
1442059 tn?1340240952 Feeling pretty down does anyone have anything good to say about cymbalta.? I have high anxiety as well as lupus and a hep c treatment on the horizon. I know they will give me an anti depressant and I was hoping for some input. Most others make me feel bad.
Avatar f tn I have recently started on cymbalta for PTSD and anxiety. I took two weeks at 30mg and now have been taking 60mg for almost two weeks although it seems to be helping me mentally I now have numbness in each of my fingers on both hands? Initially, my hands hurt bad and my fingers were swollen and felt like both hands had fallen asleep but couldnt wake up for like three days.
1345272 tn?1276400328 If you do decide to take it make sure that your Dr. does not prescribe the generic. All the active ingreidents are the same but the fillers are different and have different side effects. I personally had an awful time with the generic and finally my insurance will pay for name brand.
712802 tn?1274645485 Don't take abilify with Cymbalta! I take Cymbalta and then I was also put on abilify shortly before my family and I went on vacation to Disneyworld and it was the worst time I ever had! I felt like I was going to jump out of my skin! I was so agitated and could not sleep. I would pace at night! I did get off abilify when I got back and am just on Cymbalta now and am better but I am experiencing things like headaches and heart palpitations so may be getting off Cymbalta, too.
1258539 tn?1293840202 Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop. I stopped cold-turkey after using it for only 5 months and I had brain zaps for a little more than a month. The withdrawal was quite severe but it is expected with all potent powerful antidepressant.
Avatar n tn Interesting about the low cost generic; I have no idea why he has me on the name brand. I just assumed it wasn't in generic form yet. I ended up calling the doctor enough times that someone finally called me back. I gave them the number of the pharmacy and they called to find out what was going on. They called me back and told me that the prescription had been refilled (which wasn't the case the night before) and that there was a $25 copay.
Avatar f tn s Lilly) created Cymbalta, a half-fast replica of Effexor (just chemically tweeked a little). In short, basically Cymbalta was created with $$ in mind, not the health and safety of the people that would be treated with the med. Sad I know. Glad you are off of it and feeling & LOOKING great :) I'm happy for you.
Avatar f tn I was put on Lyrica and had every side effect listed and then some, was then put on gabapentin and while less side effects, they were still severe enough that I couldn't continue. My doctor then switched me to Cymbalta. Cymbalta can be prescribed for nerve pain or anxiety. That has helped immensely. NOTE: when the pharmacy switched to the generic, I had similar psychological side effects similar to those from Lyrica and Gabapentin (confusion, stupidity, suicidal thoughts,...
Avatar m tn He said I will get the cymbalta. So I brought the cymbalta and again my insurance DENIED it again. The Pharmacy called my doc and he called my insurance. They worked out a solution. They and my family doc prescribed a generic med called citalopram that I am taking for 30 days and if it doesn't help then they will ok the Cymbalta. Actually so far the Citalopram IS helping!!!! Thank you so much for your help and asking. Have a GREAT HOLIDAYS!!!!!
Avatar f tn Well unfortunately, there's little you can do except try and taper down best you can. I would recommend that you try and continue the Cymbalta...or switch to an antidepressant that's available as a generic. The Ultram can cause depression issues (the hydro as well), so stopping an antidepressant with these could be too much.
1237757 tn?1323143119 ll eat my hat) is seeing a psychiatrist and has been taking Cymbalta for a week. He says that he has not been enjoying the tablets at all and feel's like he has energy to burn just sitting on a couch. I'm worried he might also be in the first stages of being launched into mania. Does anyone know how close these two are related and if similar side effects could be expected. I noticed Cymbalta is also a serotonin-norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor which worries me.
603543 tn?1255294450 I highly recommend you try either generic Wellbutrin or generic Remeron. They are both described at this site: http://health.yahoo.com/depression-medications/atypical-antidepressants-for-depression/healthwise--hw29806.html I just started Remeron, and it seems like I feel a whole lot better than I did when I tried the Effexor and Cymbalta.
Avatar n tn My doctor just put me on Wellbutrin the generic brand for my anxiety and it take 3 weeks to start working, your not suppose to gain weight from it that is why I went on it instead of those SSRI's like paxil, zoloft and prozac. Yesterday was my first day so we will see. But it is used for anxiety.
Avatar f tn Hi all I just found out Im pregnant. About 6 weeks. And I have been on the generic form of lexapro for anxiety and depression. My doctor made me get off of it 2 years ago with my last pregnancy and now i know once I tell him I am pregnant again it'll be the same response from him that I need to get off of my pill. Even though I will be a mesa without it. Any ladies on here on lexapro /escitalopram and pregnant?
