Avatar m tn Have you sought help from a psychiatrist? If not, you may wish to consult one to discuss your situation and the meds you are taking. Chronic pain will frequently lead to depression and the pain medciation you're taking may cause it as well. A psychiatrist knows these medications the best and should be able to best advise you on what to do.
Avatar f tn My GP gave me two weeks worth of Cymbalta 30mg samples, saying that it'd help me with the chronic pain I've been dealing with since September, caused by occipital neuralgia. A blast of cold air really makes the pain untolerable and I don't want to be popping 7 tylenols a day for the next few months. I'm also taking Wellbutrin XL 150mg for depression, Klonopin 1mg as needed for anxiety, and recently my doctor added Aderrall 10mg/day to help with my ADD-PI.
1258539 tn?1293840202 I have been living with severe anxiety and depression along with depersonalization for the last 6 months. I just started cymbalta 60mg. Was wondering if anyone thinks this might help with the anxiety and depersonalization feelings?
Avatar n tn I use Cymbalta for abdomen, neck and hand pain and Fibromyalgia. It does a good job for me. There are some unpleasant side effects such as nausea and being light headed upon standing being the worst for me. I tried Neurontin and Lyrica. I couldn't take the side effects from either of those two. I've experienced life without Cymbalta. Without it my pains levels are considerably higher. My mood is much better on it.
Avatar f tn I've been on Cymbalta now for about a year. It has helped my depression and my energy levels. I'm bipolar also, so I'm on lithium. Without the lithium I felt anxious also. I'm on 60mg. of Cymbalta. At one time my doc didn't think the Cymbalta was working and I went down to 30mg. My depression got worse so I went back upto 60. I am feeling much better with the added lithium, my mood is much more even.
Avatar m tn I currently take clonazepam, 1mg three times daily for anxiety. As a teenager I was diagnosed with clinical depression and up until one year ago I was on and off various anti-depressants. Things fell apart when I was feeling depressed, and the my medication level was raised. I was on cymbalta 60mg a day, and was moved to cymbalta 90mg a day. I believe that caused a huge increase in suicidal thoughts, and I began to abuse oxycontin, whenever I could afford it.

Avatar n tn I was put on cymbalta for depression and nerve pain ( RSD ). I hate taking new medicines I know nothing about. I am young and I am afraid of it. I start off taking 30 mgs for a week than increase to 60 than I will get up to 120 at some point. Could someone please tell me something about this drug? Is it safe? Thanks Susan...
Avatar m tn Cymbalta will help with nerve pain in higher dose's, im on 180mg per day for depression and pain, it works great with dep. and not real well for pain. But sometimes we do get pain from deperrsion. It can have an effect on sex somewhat. Give the cymbalta a try, keep your Dr informed as to any side effects you might have.
1627868 tn?1333886342 m currently on Cymbalta because I have fibromyalgia, rheumatoid arthritis, and depression. It helps with the pain but I was on Prozac before and it helped more with the depression.
Avatar m tn He said it would help me with sleep and pain. It was 2 weeks of hell, no sleep and constant pain and I wanted to kill myself!!! I was not depressed and have no history of depression. my doctor switched me to amitriptyline. It helps with sleep but not pain, I would never recommend Cymbalta to anyone !
314833 tn?1263259499 I am currently on cymbalta I was placed on this for depression, anxiety and just had a hysterectomy and not able to start hormones right away, and doctor thought it would help...I am just wondering about side affects of others... 712802 tn?1274645485 I took Cymbalta and Ability for about 3 years. I was lethargic and added Concerta for stimulation. I was also on other medications so I can't say it was caused by Cymbalta or Abilify.... or mild depression. Have you tried taking the Abilify at night?
Avatar m tn Hello, I have been on 10mg of Lexapro since September 2010 and I must admit that is has helped with anxiety and depression. At first i had energy and didn;t have sleep issues but for the past couple of months i've been very sluggish and groggy. The doc decided to switch me to Cymbalta. I will start at 30mg and work my way up to 60 mg. I'm a little concerned about making the switch because it makes me wonder if the whole gettting on a medication process will take place all over again.
398302 tn?1202271127 I've been clean off the oxys for 11 days now and today I went to the doctor for a follow up appointment (I got really sick from a flu shot while I was in detox last week) Anyway, I told the Dr. I was severly depressed and he wrote me a script for Cymbalta. I've been on anti-depressants before, even way before I got addicted to oxycontin. I've never taken Cymbalta though.

1298907 tn?1272886488 My PMP moved me off the Paxil and increased the Cymbalta dosage. The Cymbalta does a good job on my mood, fibro pain and abdominal pain. All nerve issues. But it does make my nauseated. Not a big deal because of my abdominal adhesions, nausea is pretty much a constant in my life anyway. I keep a Rx of phenergan and use them daily. I tried neurontin. That was a horrible experience. It made me violently ill (nausea and vomiting) and kept my mind in a cloud.
Avatar f tn My Dr recently put me on Cymbalta for anxiety and depression. Also for pain. I'd like to know how effective it is for chronic pain and most importantly...will I gain weight?! I do NOT want to gain weight!!! I've heard both...you'll definitely lose weight or you'll definitely gain. Does anyone have an answer to that? thanks so much!
7684852 tn?1437171892 t do any recovery work to change, then nothing changes. I am worried for you and really want you to invest in you and your NEW LIFE. You are so worth it. Please please consider this.
Avatar f tn Hello All! I hope everyone is doing ok. I've been a little MIA for a bit...lots going on. Our landlord went into foreclosure and we have to move (awesome), so we've been feverishly looking for a new home. I'm dreading the packing, moving, and unpacking part and what that is going to do to my pain level. Ugh. I've already began to have a pretty nasty flare up just from the stress of it all.
Avatar m tn So if im on oxys, and i go on suboxone, i can take cymbalta safely and it will help with withdrawls and depression?
Avatar f tn I have to switch my meds. I have depression and fibromyalgia and am on Cymbalta, but it doesn't seem to be helping me.....my doctor suggested Prozac since it is known to help fatigue better than the other antidepressants (supposedly). Thank you.
Avatar f tn I took Cymbalta for depression, however, I noticed a relief in pain of FMS with my first dosage. I discontinued it when I began taking Ultram (as they sometimes do not mix well). Anything that requires a prescription will come with certain side-effects...one needs to try the medication to see how it works and weigh if the difference in pain is significant enough for them to continue taking, as compared with the side-effects. What helps one, may not help the other.
Avatar f tn I 23 and have been suffering from pain for a very long time, and all other symptoms associated with fibromyalgia.recently a doctor decided it was fibromyalgia. I have started on Cymbalta 4 weeks ago, 60mg and have found no pain releif, but have found that im getting some energy back. Is it known to be benificial to be on cymbalta and lyrica at the same time? any recomendations i would greatly appriciate!!!!!!
394774 tn?1235070839 You can get addicted to lyrica, it is a controlled substance. but if they work for you and take away the pain and you know you are gonna have to take them the rest of your life, who care.
714288 tn?1243254191 I am having terrible pain with Fibromyalgia that goes along with hep c for some. And also mild depression on the scare of a disease that could kill me after the drug use did not!
Avatar f tn The pain radiates all the way down my spine and lower back @ times I feel like wearing a neck brace. And on another note....I have been taking Cymbalta for depression and panic attacks the panic attacks came out of the blue...Can anyone tell me if there is a relation between Chiari and depression/Panic Attacks?
Avatar f tn I have been taking a combination of Wellbutrin XR and Paxil CR for several years now. I do very well on this combination of medications. I asked my doctor recently about about trying Cymbalta because I have recentently learned I have arthritis in my low back and both hips. I would have to titrate off of my current meds first. His main remark was that if I am doing well on my current meds he didn't recommend the change.
