cymbalta

Avatar m tn I just wanted to say also that I am on a low dose Cymbalta and that works for me. I know it's not for everybody but no side effects like the Savella. I wish the best for you.
Avatar m tn It basically numbed my emotions and made it easier to get up and go to work, school, etc. without having bursts of anger or tears for no apparent reason. Although it helped the mood swings, I still felt no motivation to do anything and felt even more fatigued than ever before. My biggest original problem was my drive and motivation. I stopped listening to music because I didn't really enjoy it anymore and zoloft didn't really help that much.
Avatar f tn After researching all the side effects, I am going to try the Lyrica, so many people report agitation, anger, and similar reactions with the Cymbalta. I was on an antidepressant for over 34 years and it took me 6 months at LEAST to wean myself off, the side effects were affecting my well being, forget having a sex drive, and I wasn't even in a relationship. Every antidepressant has had THAT side affect on me. When I mentioned it to my Primary Physician...
Avatar f tn My sister started taking Cymbalta for Fibromyalgia and her appetite dropped a lot, and just a few months later she was pre-diabetic. I have read some other people's comments saying that going on or even going off of cymbalta has really messed up their blood sugar. some people even say that it made them diabetic. so if you are on cymbalta, just watch out for some of the pre-diabetes symptoms and tell your doctor about any weird eating habit changes that happen.
Avatar f tn Could anyone tell me if they have gotten Duvanta-30 as a generic for cymbalta? Due to the money crunch we have had to look to the canadian drug companys for my husbands meds that he takes, and when I ordered the cymbalta that is what they sent, and when I questioned it they said it was the same... So a little feed back would be great. thanks.
3547166 tn?1347814000 I am seeing a Psychiatrist and I have tried many medications. She has recently prescribed Cymbalta. I haven't been taking it long enough to notice a difference yet. I keep thinking, what if Cymbalta doesn't work either? Thank you for your help.
Avatar f tn I had anger while on treatment drugs, too. It is easily controlled with anti-depressants. They aren't just for depression, they should be thought of as a drug for mood disorders. Interferon is famous for causing mood disorders, with rage being nearly as common as depression. His hep C doctor can prescribe them for him and should, before he does too much damage to self and family. Good luck.
692643 tn?1372611227 I take a very low dose of Prozac (10mg) and couple it with a couple other different meds for my Fibro. I take Topamax and Soma as well for pain and migraines. It seems to be a good combo. You may be able to handle the Prozac since it only affects the serotonin, or something similar to it (a SSRI) if you have trouble with the SNRIs like Cymbalta, Savella or Effexor. I would talk to your doctor and see what he/she thinks. Good luck.
1535467 tn?1342231670 I called my doctor today and he put me back on Cymbalta at 30mg for now, I have an appointment with him in a week. I was experiencing some extreme agitation in my chest area as well.. I'm sensitive to bodily changes. Feeling my brood pressure rise is one of them..
Avatar n tn I have bipolar, ptsd, severe panic disorder, and schizoaffective. Been on meds for years. Without Dr. A few months sop family Dr gave me Geodon, cymbalta and Xanax till I got new Dr. New Dr put me In hospital for 3 days and took away Xanax and added vistaril 25mg 3 times day, neurontin 300mg @ bedtime, trazodone 100mg @ bedtime and up dose to 90mg cymbalta. Avatar m tn Cymbalta actually worked for me after I had a major back surgery...i had alot of nerve damage in my sciatic and the cymbalta helped me while they were doing procedures to ease the nerve pain such as epidurals and rfas...however getting off of it was not the easiest thing I ever had to do...my dr lowered the dose and got me off of it safely but I was still going through some moderate withdrawals like shaking and nausea but they only lasted a few weeks and I was fine afterward...
646410 tn?1247251853 It's clear to me that my meds need adjustment, but to do so, I need to go in for a blood draw to see what my ...something levels are. If part of the problem is extreme lethargy, how do they expect me to get out of the house earlier than I absolutely have to? Self-talk, breathing techniques & going away only help for just a little while before the anger & depression creep back up again. I'm hoping to make it in tomorrow. Wish me luck.
1348086 tn?1370783185 Yes, I know there is a forum for that topic but I never had a problem until my med switch. I have always had a temper and short of patience, but this is different. I sort of think it may be that I am overworking myself. The psychiatrist weened me off of Cymbalta. I am almost 2 months free from it. Also,he put me on nortriptyline 75mg before bed. I have been in a foul mood almost all the time now.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am reaching out as I desperately need help. I took cymbalta XR 60 mg for anxiety for nearly 4 years. I weened myself off for over a month and completely stopped taking it in September. I survived the sweats, anger, brain zaps, etc. However, since October I have been a COMPLETELY different person. I am out of it constantly- like a zombie. I feel like I'm not real- like I'm just going through the motions of life.
Avatar m tn Just an open question. Anyone that has hep-c oand is on Antidepressants what is your experience? Do they work? Fear of liver damage? I have read alot but want to see what everyone thinks? The only AD that I have found to say "not for patients with liver disease" is Cymbalta. But what about the others?? Thanks for your feedback!

8496079 tn?1398412516 I take cymbalta for the pain in my hips. I find it works relatively well.
216278 tn?1308861082 I've only recently realized my anger issues were getting worse and linked it to my fibromyalgia. I am starting a homeopathic form of treatment using mother of vinegar for the pain and stiffness, and a supplement called 5htp for mood improvement. I pray this treatment will give me some relief because I really don't like cymbalta!!
Avatar n tn I use Cymbalta for abdomen, neck and hand pain and Fibromyalgia. It does a good job for me. There are some unpleasant side effects such as nausea and being light headed upon standing being the worst for me. I tried Neurontin and Lyrica. I couldn't take the side effects from either of those two. I've experienced life without Cymbalta. Without it my pains levels are considerably higher. My mood is much better on it.
Avatar f tn Has anyone been perscribed Paroxetine for their neuropothy symptoms? I saw my physiatrist last week for the increasing pain I am having related to my syrinx. He advised me to check back in with my NS, and gave me a script for Cymbalta. Apparently, this anti-depressant also works on nerves. I'm definitely not a depressed person - so I had my reservations for Cymbalta, but the pharmacist re-assured me that my dr prescribed it for neuro issues.
Avatar f tn I started Cymbalta 8 to 8 days ago for MDD and Gad with obsessive thoughts. And now tapering Effexor gradually. I didn't see improvement till now and feel very depressed and feel like my head is going to explode cz of the thoughts and the continuously feeling down with no interest or motivation to do anything in life. Do I need to wait for Cymbalta more or shall I consult my doctor to change it? And is it effective with treatment resistant cases as iam a treatment resistant case?
Avatar f tn I try to substitute compassion for anger. I not only have MS but stage 4 cancer. I am not happy that my life may be cut short. I get angry with the wrong people at the wrong times. If I stop and think of compassion it is hard for me to get angry with people. I am still angry I have Cancer, I just realize people are on my side and I should be on theirs.
1042487 tn?1275279899 s tried me on 300mgs of Gabapentene at night. OH NO. Just 5 days in and I was almost arrested for anger in the work place, uncontrollable rage. Then I did 5 weeks of Cymbalta at 60 mg's daily but the side effects were not worth the benefits. So tonight I am starting on 37.5 mg Effexor and am researching the use with Melatonin as a sleep ade. I am glad to read that some have tried it together. I will be holding off on the mix till I see how my body takes to the Effexor by itself.
1041243 tn?1375230520 Tuesday my psychiatrist stopped my Zoloft and started me on Fluvox (I have GAD, OCD, and mild/moderate depression). Well I've had some side effects that I can live with, but the past 24 hours I've been getting much angrier than usual. Like when my husband and I bicker a little, I get mad instead of a little annoyed. This happened once before when my former psychiatrist tried swithching me from zoloft to cymbalta, and I switched back after 4 days because of it.
Avatar f tn He met with me and was pretty thorough and reduced my medications from 150 of Levothyoxine to 25 mg. He also suggested I increaes my Cymbalta. I called my doctor today and the nurse told me the reason for the 150 mg was that my family doctor wanted to help me with extra weight loss and thought this might do the trick. I asked about Cymbalta as I am taking 60 mg and he increased it to 120 mg, sort of nervous about this as it is designed at high doses for people with pain. That isn't me.
Avatar m tn When the venerable N3 plucked the explanation for my latest two month episode from his posterior, I promised myself that I would prove to him that he was wrong, as a poke in the eye. Since he lacked the wherewithal to explain my panoply of neurologic symptoms, he chose to blame it all on the medicines that I was taking. Thus, the next day I stopped taking my blood pressure medicines and Provigil, which I had just started 6 or 8 days earlier.
