Lyrica seems to work for me, however the side effects include drowsiness and weight gain. I also take baclophen, which is a muscle relaxent and Celexa for my depression. Even after you start adjusting to the med and start seeing some improvements, it may still take a little longer to get to the level of effectiveness you're after. And, if you ever decide to stop taking it, you need to ask your doc for a taper plan, as you should not stop taking it abruptly.

I want to know if anyone has switched safely from Cymbalta to Prozac? I was previously on Prozac for a couple of years and my dr. & I believed that it had stopped being as effective. I changed to Cymbalta with great results. However, I am starting to believe that it is no longer working and am considering changing back to Prozac.
Has anyone else had trouble with the drugs effects tapering off like that? And if so, how do I go about safely making the change?
Effexor is to be taken on a daily basis. Best to decide when you take it and stick to a schedule, especially when you are in the first few weeks.
Definitely won't work if you try the 'as needed' method. Not saying it might have some effect. Really don't know. It is not designed to be taken that way. Most people take it in the morning or whenever they start their day.
Jenny - I take 120 mgs of Cymbalta (have done so for almost a year) and am considering going back to Prozac (took it years ago).
Since your doc is away, I suggest you call his office and ask to see another doctor there. Don't wait till he returns, okay?

Doses can vary widely so you have to figure out what works for you - some of my buds need a bit to sleep, others needs to strictly avoid anything after 3pm or they cannot sleep. I take 1 dose a day - I used to split into 3 but it made no difference to me.
I use alert bracelet - contact your local ENT area and ask if they have a preference. Yeah the docs often forget the syringe how are you supposed to get the medication!
I have been on Cymbalta for 2 years and now take 60mg. I've never felt the symptoms that you describe. I have carpal tunnel also. My carpal tunnel worsened over a period of 2 years, as found on a nerve conduction test. It could be a considence that the symptoms came up around the time you started Cymbalta. I also see a chiropractor that encouraged me to get off of all "medications", but this is consistent with what chiropractors believe.
I have been taking Cymbalta for about 2 months now, 1 month at 30 mg and upped it to 60 mg about a month ago. I have noticed that I am feeling much better mood-wise, my pain is not as bad, motivation is better, etc., however, I have been craving food like mad. I am overweight to begin with, but ate pretty healthy before I started the Cymbalta. Now I have these horrible cravings for sugars/breads, etc. all foods I never ate before.
best way to know what u can and can not take with sub is to ask ur prescribing doctor...cymbalta is a heavy duty AD and i have heard u should taper from it..i was at a low dose for a 90 days or so for fibromyalgia and a clump of my hair fell out...i quit the next day with no problem but i was not at ur dose...ask ur doctor and always be safe..
I last came on my period aug 30 I tested sept 29 nd got a negative test I tested again Oct 8 nd I got confirmation from the er tues so I say wait to see if ur late..
