m worried that the combination of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin can cause this. Is the combintation of Cymbalta and Wellbutrin safe? Thanks very much!

Your post is a little confusing -- did you taper off the Zoloft, or go off cold turkey, or switch to Lexapro, or are you on both Zoloft and Lexapro and now Cymbalta? Going off any of these meds abruptly, even if you switch to another, can trigger a withdrawal, which is why I'm asking.

Hi, I did try Cymbalta, once, and suffered a severe allergic reaction, and really thought I would die, and so did they!! I took lexapro, and that made me really have strange thoughts, so zoloft, seems to work the best so far. I am just tired to the whole thing!!

Cymbalta and Zoloft are two different types of AD's. Cymbalta is a SNRi and Zoloft is a SSRi. I had very bad withdraw when I stopped Zoloft. So my Dr. had me wean off it. From experience ( 2 x's I had to stop taking Zoloft ) I would HIGHLY recommend slowly getting off the Zoloft. I don't think that it can be 'switched'.

Yeah, i am not on Zoloft but have been on it, but i am now on Cymbalta and if i miss a day I get straight up sick. Zoloft made me tiredand zone out and weak, faint nauseated on the med but any antidepressant says on the patient info sheet don't stp taking suddenly without consulting a physician. I too have bee stressed out before and have forgotton to take my meds and they reminded me to take them again......

My error, I do see you were diagnosed. Normally when BP you are going to have at least, and I mean at least 2 drugs on board for your treatment. The combination you are is a long standing combination of meds but not first choice. Did you get diagnosed by your GP or your psych? Cymbalta is generally not a good choice for BP, as it can cause hypo/mania and serious anxiety.

I have a new doctor now (other one retired) and because I have some aches and arthritis, he took me off Zoloft and put me on Cymbalta which helped with pains. I have never been the same as when on Zoloft. The depression freeze of not wanting to get up, go out and do a thing has not left me. I went up in dose of Cymbalta to 120 mg/day from 60 and still it didn't help. I went back to Zoloft and started hurting like the flu. All aches and pains came back bigger than ever.

My pain mgt doc is taking me off Zoloft 200 mg and switching me to Cymbalta, ive cut the Zoloft in half for 9 days and he said after14 days go to 50 then start Cymbalta, I feel really bad I also take roxycodone my internal med doc has not been informed, should I talk with the IM doc cause I would really like to start Cymbalta, thank u

they feel that cymbalta is more for anxiety issues then zoloft. i am on day 3 and feel good. my doc had me not take my zoloft for one night and start the cymbalta the next night. my thing is that i can't get out of my head that antidepressants cause suicidal thoughts. i am always asking myself am i ok am i going to kill myself. i did this soooo bad on zoloft but read some horrible stuff on zoloft. i have severe anxiety as well as mild ocd.

I would switch gradually to Cymbalta and see what happens rather than being on both. As for the Wellbutrin added to the mix it could help with libido since dopamine is in play. Both Zoloft and Wellbutrin sounds like something you could try before getting on Cymblata. I don't think you shoud mix Cymbalta with Wellbutrin personally.

i have suffered from depression for quite some time now and am needing to get on an antidepresant. i have taken effexor and will never do that again . i have herd some about zoloft but if anyone has taken it i would love to get your opinion thanks.

The average dose for Cymbalta is 60mg per day, and although some doctors do prescribe it 120mg per day...there is no evidence to prove that it helps any more than the 60 mg per day. The maximim dose for Prozac is 80mg per day so you're still below the highest dosage on that one. I doubt your doctor will increase the Cymbalta anymore, and if he tries to...find another doctor! Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop. I stopped cold-turkey after using it for only 5 months and I had brain zaps for a little more than a month. The withdrawal was quite severe but it is expected with all potent powerful antidepressant.

My psych just switched me to Cymbalta, on for 5 days I was instructed to decrease to 50 mg Zoloft, then the 6th day do 25 mg Zoloft and take 20 mg cymbalta. Then just continue with only 20 mg cymbalta. I feel like it’s a really low dose and since just being on the cymbalta already I feel sick and massive headache and dizziness . My psych is out of town until 3 weeks so not sure if anyone else has insight on this?

Then everything snowballed- anxiety, agitation, feeling crazy, disconnected, frightened. Called Psych & got in. Apparently Zoloft not a good med for me. I said I wanted the Cymbalta back (she suggested Cymbalta, Pristiq, Effexor- all SNRI's which maybe my body likes?

severe depression, pain, brain fog , etc. I have taken zoloft previously and seemed to work. trying to convince dr. that I should try that. no samples available..expensive stuff. prozac and paxil turned me into a maniac. the mood swings went from deliriously happy to crazed. not for me. I am seeing a new dr. today and hope that zoloft or cymbalta with special clearance from insurance will be possible. Insurance company said it will take strong words from doctor.

Hello there, Cymbalta is a SNRI which mean it will affect your serotonin level but also your norepinephrine level which can be translated into adrenaline which results into a energy boost and less pain. I am on Cymbalta and Lyrica for chronic nerves pain due to compression of the suboccipital triangle causing pressure on the C2 originating nerves resulting in occipital neuralgia and myofacial pain.

Started Zoloft at 25mg yesterday. So currently I am on 20mg Cymbalta and 25mg Zoloft. I will stop the Cymbalta in about a week. Right now I just feel funny. I feel jazzed up and tense. I know taking combos of these drugs can cause serotonin syndrome, and I’m freaked out about that. Can anyone shed some insight? Would it be unlikely for the lowest doses of both these drugs to cause it? Would it have already happened since this is the second night I’ve taken both?

I have fibromyalgia, degenerative arthritis and yes, clinical depression. When I take Savella and Pristiq together, it works wonders. When both my pain dr and my psychiatrist got together and said I couldn't take them together, I became very depressed after getting off of Savella. I didn't want to kill myself, but I sure didn't want to live. Lyrica put me to sleep in horrible ways, Cymbalta doesn't work for me and anything like Prozac or Lexapro or Zoloft is candy to me.

Hi Candy, I was taken off another one (can't remember which one now) and put on cymbalta a few years ago and I loved it, its been so long now that I can't really remember why except that it helped my depression a lot and some of my pain. I preached its praises for a very long time but like everything else I don't remember why... I think we are all different when it comes to meds as we do with our MS...so I would give it a shot.

Jan 7, 2014 my psychiatrist switched me from 60mg Cymbalta to 100mg Zoloft. The switch was made bc I felt after 5 yrs, the Cymbalta might be pooping out. The first week I took 30mg Cymbalta with 50mg Zoloft. After that week, I stopped Cymbalta and went to 100mg Zoloft. It's now a little over 4 weeks since the switch and I'm having panic attacks like I haven't had in years & also that disassociation feeling that goes along w/anxiety & depression.

Now I am on Cymbalta and have gained another 10lbs, Does nay other person have this problem? I want to get off it, any other ideas on what depression medcine to take that waon't make you gain weight..

Then around 7 years ago I started getting panic attacks, so they put me on some benzos along with cymbalta and abilify. Cymbalta was the worst drug I'd ever been on; I felt like a walking zombie... not depressed, just not anything at all. I've been through three or four different talk therapists and a handful of psychiatrists. I've given up on both due to their lack of ability to listen (anyone else notice that?). I now just receive my rxs from my GP, which is fine...

Cymbalta and Wellbutrin + Methadone sounds good to me. I mean I personally tried Cymbalta for a few months a few months ago and it worked very well. Cymbalta was stimulating for me and gave me a lot of energy on it's on without using Wellbutrin. What is the other medication you are talkin about when you say 4 medications?
