Cymbalta and vulvodynia

Common Questions and Answers about Cymbalta and vulvodynia

cymbalta

I had the same thing with the Yaz. I was on Yasmin and switched to Yaz and promptly gained about 5 or more pounds. No problems at all with Yasmin, and I was on it for 5 or more years. I still work out like I did on Yasmin, and I've never eaten a lot, although, the Yaz does make me hungry all the time, and I can't seem to get rid of this bloating. I spot constantly and cramp. I have another friend that is the same way.
a subset of vulvodynia, will the hallmark being burning and knife like pain. All the creams and nerve pills in the world won't solve it. No quick fixes. Valium inserts helped a LOT, but only worked five days!! My ob/gyn said don't mess with creams, inserts, b/c on top of your normal problems you'll get contact dermatitis or rebound symptoms. So I am not. The only next step is more physical therapy, and a PELVIC pain Dr with probable injections. It's still just as painful as back then.
I am 42 and have been itching and scratching to fairly severe extremes the last 3 years. I have seen several doctors, many of whom don't bother with a physical exam and diagnose yeast. It is not yeast but they offer no explanation as to the cause. I have tried various underwears made from organic fibre's to no avail. I haved washed with different soaps, cleansers and no cleansers other then water, still no result.
Every doc wants me to take something different. Saw my Phychiatrist today & she took me off Trazadone & Topamax and told me to stick with Neurontin and Doxepin. I am just so confused and frustrated. After testing at the Pelvic Pain Clinic the Neurologist came up with Bladder Dysfunction, Small Fiber Neuropathy, and Autonomic Neuropathy. I found this out from my PCP. I was at the Pain Clinic on Jan 25th and was never told anything or to come back.
I feel like I am experiencing this too. I am on 1G daily and I thought I had vulvodynia because the pain is so bad, I constantly think I am having an outbreak because of the pain. What meds do you take instead? My partner is negative and need to take daily suppressive meds.
seems others use it too. it just stinks and i don't put it on during day. i've also read some ppl use Cymbalta which can be used for fibromayalgia (sp?) and diabetic nerve pain. the pain is the same for herpes so see about getting on those meds and see how it helps. i may go to that if i can't deal with the pain myself.
I would have to take 2 1/2 norco b/c my tolerance is so high. I have chronic interstitial cystis and vulvodynia and IBS probelms. Basicly severe pelvic pain....muscle pain and nerve pain. It's hell. I have taken all non narcotic pain meds and mucles relaxers, lyrica, nuerontin, elavil and nothing works. I am supposed to go to PT to help stretch out those muscles down there. I hope it helps but I heard its very painful. They only have one PT that specializes in that area in Louisiana.
yet all swabs came back with nothing. After biospies, swabs, and everything under the sun I went to a vulvodynia specialist and after trying all sorts of treatments we finally found one that works and it is treatable ! I was put on clindamaycin (twice a day) for 30 days plus was given a cream that I inserted every other night that was a mixture of clindamaycin and a steroid and within a week it had all cleared up and I have not had a problem since.
I am also worried about the prices of these vitamins and if they interact with my regular meds. I had asked my PC doctor and my pyschiatrist and they said just take a multi-vitamin and that I dont need to take all that, it will just make me poor. Also since my fentanyl detox I had my potassium levels dropped after the detox and a few weeks ago. Doctors don't have an answer. I am worried about what this horrible detox did to my body and if I had serious damage.
in a different way than the radioligst do. He is a pelvic pain specialist and inserted sodium pottasium into the bladder and told my daug if it brings on the same type of pain pressure than thats how they diagnosos I.C. and said she had it.Her symptoms are a feeling like she has to urinate and even when she does she still feels like she has a full bladder. the pressure from not being able to relieave hurts. She is on pain med's to help until we can find a answer but if it is I.C.
