need to do own research) i stopped all med for 48 hrs and tramadol and prozac permantenly and immediatly began feeling better...i called my dr when i figured out what was wrong and her nurse said she (the doc) doesn't think i had that...i left her and every time i mention this story to docs i encounter they are blown away no-one helped me...

Chances are less likely for serotonin syndrome if you take your Cymbalta in the morning and tramadol at night. But I still find the 100mg tramadol dose considerably high.

Right before I read your post, I've been reading the Tramadol withdrawl thread under EmilyPost posts. I really suggest you read it and see what other users have experienced. At my peak I was on both Cymbalta and Lyrica (for three years) plus eight Ultracet each day (for three years). I've discontinued both the Cymbalta and Lyrica (and this wasn't pretty!) and I am on the Ultracet "reduction plan" - down to two per day.

Could anyone please tell me if they have taken Cymbalta and Tramal (Tramadol) together???? And has anyone had any bad interactions with taking both these tablets? Just from Cymbalta alone, has anyone had any really bad side effects, or seizures? I have been told to take these by my doctor. I have Fibromyalgia and anxiety disorder........Have been taking Tramal for some time, and about to start taking Cymbalta tomorrow night.

Hello iam new here I am taking tramadol 50 mgs,neurontin 300mg,hydrocodon-acetaminoph,a pain patch of 25mcg/hr and cymbalta 90 mg. And my Dr. Wants me to take effexor xr 75mg in lu of cymbalta (the cymbalta was given to me by a shrink for pain control) but I am told that effexor xr n tramadol don't mix.

In general, the use of tramadol in combination with serotonin reuptake inhibitors should be avoided if possible, or otherwise approached with caution if potential benefit is deemed to outweigh the risk.

Yes interactions can occur between SSRIs and Tramadol related to a rare condition called Serotonin Syndrome. Since you're not having any interactions, maybe your dosages are low enough not to be a problem. But I agree with the previous post, definitely discuss your concerns with your Pharmacist and contact your Doctor if you feel like you need more info.

Cymbalta 60mg daily and Tramadol 400mg daily. They are both prescribed by the same doctor.

I would like to get off suboxone sometime this year. could i take something like cymbalta and just quit the suboxone - basicly having the anti depressant take it's place in some way? are there any combinations that work with suboxone? I am seeing my phsciatrist tomarrow and would like to have some ideas as far as my medications. this is so confusing, yet liberating that soon i will be functional for the first time in my life. For neuropathy and other sensations I had relief with both Cymbalta and Lyrica. The only downside to the Lyrica was difficulty with cognition and drowsiness. Savella (milnacipran) is the new medication and it works much the same as Cymbalta...it is an antidepressant. As uk2 mentioned, the patches help with pain as well. My current treatment is with Ultram for both FMS and RSD and Trazadone for sleep. It's much a 'trial and error'...

I was taking Tramadol 50 mg. for fibromyalgia pain for approximately seven years, always prescribed by my physician. I fluctuated between 2-4 pills per day, but usually just 2 at nighttime. Last week my doctor put me on Cymbalta and told me that I couldn't take the Tramadol with the Cymbalta, so I discontinued the it. Ever since, I'm barely getting any sleep and I seem to be breathing shallowly. Even at this dose, could I be experiencing withdrawal symptoms?

I can tell you exactly what the problem is as this happened to me. They had me on cymbalta (anti-depressant) and then put me on tramadol (the worst drug on the planet in my opinion) and the tramadol isn't only a synthetic opiate, it's also an anti-depressant - so there's a serious risk of raising the serotonin levels in your brain that can cause seizures (it's called serotonin syndrome).

Anybody know if there is any problems taking tramadol and provigil together?

I've been on Tramadol (Ralivia), Tramadol (Tramacet), Cyclobenapine (flexeril) and Cymbalta for months. That's not the whole list, trust me my GP just kept writing new prescriptions for every new symptom. There is an arthritis med and a stomach med as well.

You would need to ask your prescriber or your pharmacist about the potential for interaction. I honestly don’t know. I would not advise taking suboxone after any opioid type pain medication unless you have cleared it with your doctor.

youre welcome! i found out the hard way on that stuff =[ My friend was super sick when he all the sudden quit taking them... the dr told him there's no way that he was withdrawing because they are non narcotic.. but he was way to messed up for them to be so "safe" so i researched the heck out of them! even down to the scientific makeup of them! lol and i found out allot about them! i think more and more people are starting to realize it too.

I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.

lower back & right leg pain NOT very consistent 2001 after 2nd pregnancy. lower back & right leg pain VERY consistent 2006 after 3rd pregnancy. 2007 the start of wanting to chop my right leg off every night from the constant pain. 2008 dr prescribed me every pain med to try what helps. Tramadol 50mg 1/3xs a day was the winner! later that same year got in 2 car accidents. 1st one was horrible. hit from behind on the highway, spun around, & flipped over a couple of times.

I am reading on this site that that some have been through this with cymbalta I need my life back from tramadol. btw I have tried 12 steps and others ways and it does not work for me.
