cymbalta and topamax

in reference to my query regarding cymbalta and topamax i only took these meds for a month and its been 4 months and i still have what appears yo be a permanent tremor!!!!

I have been researching Topamax and all I can find is info. about seizures and migraines. Why would he give me this, and is it addictive? Anyone have any knowledge?

I have since stopped taking the tramadol at all unless i am hurting then and there. And I now take the Cymbalta in the AM because I am now on Remeron for depression. I think i might have been taken the tramadol to keep from hurting rather than if I was hurting and I was hooked on it. The SS thing I was asking about was because I had not started having the fever and bad stuff yet but had started the mild things like nausea, mood swings, insomnia (even though i was taking Ambien!

Hi, The affordable alternatives to Lyrica are -Neurontin ,Topamax and Cymbalta. Since you have had no relief from Topamax, you can try the other two . if still you feel no better ,please consult your neurologist to suggest an alternative.Hope this helps you . Take care and regards !

I recently went to dr to talk about possible fibro and cfs. I took blood for tests and put me on cymbalta for the time being. I am now tappering off my Effexor and up to 60 mg of the cymbalta. I haven't gotten the test results back yet. anyway, my question is--Has anyone had luck with cymbalta? And does cymbalta work for fibro and cfs? Why isn't he referring me to a neuro or a pain mgmt doc?

I'm on 60 mg Cymbalta for pain, 100 mg Lyrica, 30 mg Remeron for sleep but also take a sleeping pill. The ringing is so bad in the night and in the morning think it makes the pain worse. Also on 2 1/2 mg Ativan but have been trying to come off it as the anxiety is much less. I did quit smoking and have started again but not very much. None of the Dr's can explain.

Is there really a need for Topamax still? I thought I was taking the Topamax for headaches, and now if the headache issues is resolved, then why keep taking the medication? Just wondering what everyone else is doing?

my whole digestive track and stomach has been messed up since, i started with constipation, now i have diarrhea often, stomach cramps, and loss of appetite from the topamax. i started smoking weed this year, and its the only thing that helps me eat and maintain my weight. but recently i had pooped mucus alone, right after i had pooped. and it happened again tonight. but i have no blood in it, no irritation, inflammation, anything else whatsover. just stomach problems.

My Doctor tried putting me on Cymbalta when I said that I thought that Topamax was causing the depression but Cymbalta makes me nauseated all the time and seemed to make things worse not better. I do think I need a new Doctor. What is Maxalt like? I have been on Imetrex and that seemed to make the anxiety worse. I don't respond well to meds.

s trying to lower my nacrotic pain medicines, so he put me on Cmybalta, tizanidine,and now trying Topamax. Anyhoo, are of you on these similar medications? And if you are are you having similar time side effects? If you did how long did they take for them to go away? Or did they! Was you able to sleep? Was you able to lose any weight? He said I will get the cymbalta. So I brought the cymbalta and again my insurance DENIED it again. The Pharmacy called my doc and he called my insurance. They worked out a solution. They and my family doc prescribed a generic med called citalopram that I am taking for 30 days and if it doesn't help then they will ok the Cymbalta. Actually so far the Citalopram IS helping!!!! I have tried tons of different medicines..propranolol, Amitriptyline, topamax, Cymbalta, Lamotrigine, Olanzapine, Tegretol, along with about 20 other ones.. those are the ones I can think of at the moment.

ve taken Cymbalta, Adderall and Wellbutrin for years (though I took Pristiq instead of Cymbalta for an ill-fated 10 months.) I started Lamictal last spring and Topamax about a month ago. I haven't been in therapy for a while, mostly because my depression is so chemical (which is what every therapist I've spoken to in the past couple of years has said to me.) When my meds work, I'm fine. When they don't, I'm a crying mess. It's like someone flipped a switch. Oy. Anyway!

Has anyone been perscribed Paroxetine for their neuropothy symptoms? I saw my physiatrist last week for the increasing pain I am having related to my syrinx. He advised me to check back in with my NS, and gave me a script for Cymbalta. Apparently, this anti-depressant also works on nerves. I'm definitely not a depressed person - so I had my reservations for Cymbalta, but the pharmacist re-assured me that my dr prescribed it for neuro issues.

I have been to a neurologist and MRI came out negative. He was the one that prescribed Cymbalta, Topamax, and Lyrica. The side effects from the first two meds were worse than the illness itself. I took Lyrica for a month and didn't notice any change, whatsoever, good or bad. I've been referred to a rheumatologist so I'll follow that route. And I'll try milk of magnesia.

DnnTrry- I switched from Lyrica to Topamax completely mostly because of the weight gain and cost. Lyrica and Topamax are both anti-seizure meds and do not have any major interactions, but I understand your apprehension. Also, side effects from Topamax are most crippling usually when you increase too fast. I hope your doctor didn't place you on 50mg right off the bat??? That dosage is sure to give you some discomfort.

This week I will be starting a double-blind study to see if 30 mg is effective for FMS pain. I won't know for some time if I'm using the placebo or the actual Cymbalta. I am sensitive to medications and I am a skeptic, since I've done badly on everything I've tried before. I do more natural therapy than I do pharmaceutical. I guess I will also find out if this stuff will help with the number of and intensity of the chronic migraines, too.

I am seeing my doc next week to get Off this. I am going to try maybe Cymbalta and Topamax. I have read Good Things about Topamax. My Lower Legs and Hands are both Swollen, and Although it did help with the Nerve Pain. I can't stand feeling like a Blimp. I hope you find Relief, Soon.

I have recently weaned off cymbalta and increased topamax. The cymbalta did not help with the migraines and I did not need it emotionally either. I use to use Botox injections in my temples, jaws (tmj) and back of neck (bad muscle) for my migraines but discontinued, at that time I was put on Topamax for one yr. the migraines increased tremendoulsy and moved from what they had been before.

Yes. I take cymbalta and gabapentin. I see a neurologist as well as a rheumatologist. I go to PT as well. You’re right. I probably do need to be patient. I’m just so miserable. I just really hope this helps. I’ve never experienced nerve pain quite this bad. I have neuropathy but it has never in all the time that I’ve had been like this.

I have bipolar with major depression for more than 20yrs. I have missed and ruined the best years of my life and my kids life the things I wanted I never did them well maybe in my next lifetime. So u no I am over 50 and hope not to live that long, but I just in not even a year put on over 40 pounds which I was that weight when I was 13yrs and talk about bullying in 1960 was depressing.

Topamax 200mg, Cymbalta 60mg, Amitriptyline 100 mg and Propranolol 15mg

Gabapentin and Lyrica are used for neuropathic tingling/numbness and pain; Cymbalta is a good one to help headaches plus Imitrex, Relpax, Topamax (migraine meds). I hope this will be of help to you.

She has tried steriods, beta blockers, Cymbalta, Celebrex, Topamax, Nortriptine and pain meds. Nothing has brought relief. Can anyone make any recommendations she is desperate for help. She has seen numerous neurologists and they keep trying the same things. We are on Long Island in NY if anyone has any recommendations for a great doctor.
